The most informative and straight to the point video I saw today. Please keep making videos. Update us on your Oxford Journey. Anything particular that prospective applicants should know. Plus you have such a soothing and clarifying voice.

Thank you for the absolutely amazing content and video. I was wondering whether you, or someone you kindly direct to, would be able to review a personal statement. Thanks so much again. Greetings🌸

Hi there! I’m also a liberal arts undergraduate, majoring in Political Science in the US. I’m in my third year and am applying to law schools in England at the end of this year. What tips do you have? Thanks so much.

Hi, what Oxford College where you redirected to after your open application?

Hi Angelica! My application was allocated to Somerville College. I absolutely loved the atmosphere and the other applicants there - would recommend (though I cannot compare it to any of the other colleges, since I haven't visited them).

Hey! I will be applying for UK universities through UCAS as well. In my opinion, you may include what you might have done with your passion/interest in the extracurriculars field. For example, if you have produced research papers etc. Hope it helps and all the best!

Hii, I repeated year 12 because I failed chemistry in the first year which made me realise medicine is not the career path for me . I’m currently going into year 13 with psychology, philosophy and french . In my personal statement should I mention that I repeated year 12 with different subjects ? Because I don’t think a lot of unis would be happy to hear it and they would be reluctant to give me a position in unis like UCL OR QUEEN MARY OR KINGS . What is your advice ? Because on the contrary it could show how I learn from my failures and I come back . But again I wouldn’t get any unconditional offers by saying I failed . Can you help me pls I want to study psychology

I think it would be best to consult an admissions officer (perhaps someone from a university you are not planning on applying to) or the staff member responsible for college applications at your school about this. Whether you mention it should also depend on whether or not the transcript/information your school provides UCAS with mentions that you repeated year 12. Please take my advice with a grain of salt, since I am an international student and haven't been in your situation, but I would not frame it as a 'failure'. Instead, I would focus on what you learned from that experience and how this experience might for example give you more perspective on your subject choice, since you tried out something different before. Maybe also emphasise the importance of shifting gears at such an early point in time as opposed to at a later stage, such as at university. Would you say that failing chemistry and redoing year 12 with different subjects made you research the subject you are applying for more rigorously? Lastly, I would highlight your achievements in the three subjects you are studying now, as well as any supercurricular activities. I hope that my answer is somewhat helpful. Props to you for reaching out and good luck on your personal statement!
