Steve’s a great sport I remember playing him at an exhibition in snooker best of 31 frames and I made 16 consecutive 147s he was so admirable in defeat
@@hatesitrick That's exactly the reason I want the rounded pockets. We sometimes play 8 and 9 ball on a ten foot snooker table, so I am familiar with how unforgiving the rounded English pockets play. They force a level of focus that I find rewarding (and frustrating).
I'd think that statistically, it's rare to see him miss on any table. But every player that ever lived does it. One of the beauties of pool is that a decent player can make 90% or more of all the shots that a master can, only not as often.
Pool tables tend to ware out a lot faster than snooker tables. Thus are subject to bad roles and thunderous kicks to boot. That's why you either need to spend time rolling the cueball around the table to learn how to compensate for this, or like here play firmer shots so balls have less chance to deviate off line. Since Davis is used to playing on perfect tables. He won't have taken any of this into account. Which is which why he tried to gently roll in his opening shot.
@@Mitjitsu I think you're right. I used to play bar league in New York and when I'd come across a really bad table, I'd bang them in and was very successful with that strategy. There were bar league players that played 8 and out the majority of the time. I wasn't that good.
Amazing!! Not many people can say they 7 balled Steve fucking Davis!!! Quality video. Well done to the guy anyway, regardless of his opponent, that was a top notch clean up!! ✌️👍
Is Steve the one in the black shirt? If so, congratulations, Steve! Really good! (P.S. I'm an American, so I'm kind of new to this variation of 8-ball. Who here knows *our* variation, more specifically, the suits for the ball? Here, in case anyone doesn't know, the suits are which balls are red, and which ones are yellow.)
Steve Davis was the guy that missed the first Yellow, not the one in blue T-shirt who cleared up the reds 😀 The main difference between UK and American Pool is the table, ball and pocket sizes! Also note that in UK pool, the cue ball is smaller than the object ball unlike American, where all the balls are equal size!
I thought Romford Slim doesn't like UK 8 ball. He said it's a "mickey mouse game" when he was a TV pundit in World Pool Championship(9-ball). It's even written in his Wikipedia for Christ's sake.
it is. the other just ran out thise balls like it was nothing and he isnt even some pro. steve just didnt look at it properly obviously, and im not surprised he missed this table looks terrible
@@djiminitraveller nice to have it on camrea, i did a very similar clearance against Daz Ward when he was world uk champion and i was 14 at his exibition. about 24 years ago. lol

A minute of silence who came to see Davis play.
Steve’s a great sport I remember playing him at an exhibition in snooker best of 31 frames and I made 16 consecutive 147s he was so admirable in defeat
😂😂😂
16 consecutive 147’s? G dawg Super is clearly the greatest player to ever reach the snooker table
@@spacebory indeed I am….. I just don’t want the limelight or the attention…. I mean this morning I made 17 consecutive 147s
Last night I went to the moon and played with an alien I made 20 consecutive 147s
I nearly made a 147 last week…but I missed the first red 😓
Rumour has it Steve is still chalking his cue to this day 😆
Well done buddy. You held your nerve, and position, when the pressure was on.
7 nuggets left on the table!
You played great. I've never seen the Nugget on an English pool table. But that five seconds or so was awesome.
@Stu Marsh Well, great compared to me. We can't all be Ross McInnes. Or Stu Marsh. Are you Craig's dad?
@Stu Marsh Yeah, Craig Marsh is a great player
Great finish, well taken 👌
Quickest I’ve seen Steve play
Steve was the one that lost.
The title is misleading…should be Steve Davis watching 8-Ball pool!😂
That's round the table with his trousers round his ankles for Steve in my local! 😄
How could stevie boy miss a childhood era shot like that 😆
He got a kick
Because he was paid to
"Who's the real champion?" Ha Ha well done mate
Awesome runout, whata memory 👊
Simple runout!
@@kevindoherty6554 still played it well
very well done mate, awesome!
Don’t like the size of the table but the ball colors are genius.
Yeah i never understand why people use spots and stripes for 8 ball...so much easier to see the sets when they're different colours.
Great stuff lads
Held your nerve, well done
Nicely played.
Steve Davis: Ok let's play a frame of snooker now
Nicely played Steve 🙃
Would love to find a table like that in the US.
In what respect? The small table and balls? The simplicity of the colors (spelled it wrong just for you!), or something else?
@@michaellavery4899 The rounded pockets.

Yep I agree they are alot more unforgiving. That's why American pool is easy.
@@som2596 so easy judd trump got flogged in the US open, if american tables are so easy why dont mid tier snooker players dominate on them?

Being good at snioker doesnt always equal being good ar uk pool
Pool is Mickey Mouse compared to Snooker. Steve is just having a laugh.
@waxmandr Yes it's harder to pot balls in snooker but Steve Davis would have no chance against a top pool player at pool.
Did you play any more frames?
Richard Fisher nope just the one frame and that was enough for me 🤪

Easiest clearance going.
