It's more of a cold start button. In the UK they can't get enough of these. Fully street legal, stable on the road up to the kind of speeds you would want to reach on an upright dirt bike with off road tyres ( motorway at 70 mph is not a problem) lights are ok to be seen with but not great to see with. Just change the oil regularly depending on how hard you ride it and they run forever. To the other chap and I'm not being condescending when I say that this bike is as far removed from a DRZ as a camel is to a horse. You'll love it. Race it straight out of the box, trail ride it....
I wish you guys would stay on there longer and show more about the bike and discuss it more actually go into doing stuff with the bike and demonstrate how it will do stuff other than just going through and saying the same thing and trying to sell your insurance and other aftermarket products
choke is small? isnt it fuel injected? It is street legal right? how does it do on the street? Is it stable at high speeds on pavement? How are the lights? decent for night riding? Everyone knows ktms are great off road but what about on the road?

+Vio Veo you can short shift these and they are really docile if you do so. You can also use the oem intake restrictor which will drop a lot of power. Might be hard to find one but teh current model one should fit. It looks like a black plastic bottle cap with some holes in it.
Dude, honestly anything is going to be great. I'm 5' 7" and I can ride a 450 like it's nothing. Once you're on the bike it's all a state of mind of man over bike. As far as dual sports go, I'd go with something like a 500 EXC if you really wanted one. Dirt bikes are .... hmmm different when it comes to high speeds. They don't stop nearly as quickly and they're not great at traction as their street counterparts. Don't expect to lean wide into a corner with knobbies on. Likewise don't expect a dual sport tire to tackle a deep mud trail. Dual sporting is fun, but if you're going to go for something more serious, just go ahead and get the bike and a trailer. It's cheaper and you don't have to buy insurance
This is a competition bike (one of the best) but must be constantly maintained and change piston,crankshaft bearings,fork seals and on. a money grave like all real competition bikes! watch for a Dual Sport like the DRZ 400 if you dont want to race.
On the road it's total shiite! whatchoo be expecting? KTM suddenly broke the laws of physics? It's a dirt bike with a plate. That's pretty darned special and rare. Who gives a fook if it's bad on the road, it's just for connecting trails without having to worry about trying to outrun the cops when you need to use the street. If you want street bike, get a harley or one of their clones such as a Yamaharley or a Honda Davidson...

didnt think EFI would have a choke? my 690 doesnt

I have been looking for a dual sport. I'm only 5"9 and I weigh 145Lbs. What would be the best dual sport for my size?

If your mostly riding trails and some roads id go for this bike.

I have a 06 exc 450 and raced it every year and never had any engine trouble and it still has the original fork seals.
So this or the Suzuki drz400e. I just hate servicing but I don't want a dog of a bike...the more I watch the more I am confused.
