When I was born my father wrote a song for me called wonderboy. He was an alcoholic and threatened my mom and me with a knife when I was an infant, so she left him. When I was 18 I tried reconnecting by producing an album with him. After I asked him how the sales were going he misread my question and thought I was asking for money and told me to not come to his funeral or tell my kids about him. He had psychological problems. He died and I didn't go to his funeral. I wrote this song about him and our failed father-son relationship.
Saw this on my parooze of my fav savant songs waiting for the new album. Thanks for turning your pain into something incredible man. Its always easier to appreciate the art when we understand the story behind it as well. Cant wait for the next album!
How is it possible that this song feels like it lasts forever but in reality it's only 4,5 minutes long? I've noticed this in other Savant songs too. It takes you to a journey. Like a dream where time flows differently.

I don't understand how this has less than 1M views. It's a musical and lyrical masterpiece, with lots of innovative sounds but at the same time I feel like it would also be perfect for mainstream radio. This track has it all, but is so underrated.

As someone who had barely interaction with my father, and I haven't seen him since I was 5(now 20), this kinda resonates with me. I don't know if he thinks back, and wants to see me. Maybe he doesn't want anything to do with me? He should know I'm an adult now, and that he isn't obligated to do anything. Maybe it's easier to burn the bridge and suffer through the ailments you get from desertion. I got along this far without him, so I should be fine. Not how I wished things were left, though.
