Coco Characters: Good to Evil
Coco: a tale that takes place in two very different worlds: the vibrant Mexican city of Santa Cecilia and the mysteriously captivating Land of the Dead. The story touches on the importance of family as well as the idea of following your dreams. However, there’s a fine moral line that’s put to the test throughout the entirety of the picture. Is giving up your dreams necessary to achieve peace with your family? Does being close minded of other ideas in order to protect those closest to you cause more problems than necessary?
Today we’ll find out who gets to join their families for a beautiful Dia de los Muertos and who deserves to get crushed under the enormous silver bell.

Honestly I think Miguel's Abuelita deserves at least 3rd lowest spot, if only for her treatment of Dante. I can understand not wanting a stray to follow them around, but there was no call for hitting the poor little guy with a shoe.

I think Héctor is the one who deserves the top spot for best character in the movie. His story is so touching! The mere fact that the only reason he does anything "illegal" is just to see his daughter again one last time makes everything wrong he did forgettable. I would have probably done the same. Not to mention he wrote his daughter all those songs and poems! And the fact that he helps Miguel and opens his eyes to what's really important (which is to say family) makes him the best character in the whole movie in my opinion.

There are implications to me that Chicharrón had been more or less looking out for Héctor all those years. Like you said, he lent him SO MUCH STUFF despite it never getting back to him including his own femur. 😂 Assumedly because he wanted to help the poor kid back to his family. He didn't have to tell Héctor his favorite song, he knew it. I feel like he was like that grumpy grandpa that would jack you up for doing something stupid yet also had a soft spot you had to search a bit for. Makes the scene even sadder. 😭

You dont lend your femur to someone you know never returns stuff he borrows, or other things to someone who took your femur and ran off with it.
I feel like they were very close, Chicharon seems to have died late in his life, possibly even of old age, so he probably felt for Hector seing he died so young.
Hector wrote the only song for daughter as his great grandson succeeded for getting coco to remember him by while the town is reestablished for Hector.
Gravity Falls would be an interesting one to do based on the cast

DANG! Even just watching this got me teary eyes when you start mentioning Hector and Coco 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
a small detail that I noticed no one talk about, after Imelda understood Hector a year later we see him wearing shoes while crossing the bridge, so it is also safe to assume he was welcomed and treated as family since he has the family trademark
this is a really sweet minor detail i noticed, and it is so wholesome
Ernesto betrayed hector giving credit when he killed him hector felt guilt trying to return home to imelda and coco even though in the present he was there because of his great grandson as the clan end the madness of ernesto when they stick with hector counting on miguel to regain their daughter's memories by playing the only song remember me as she returned to her caring self and generations of the riveras before the next of the tradition after her loss.
Ernesto and the bell seem like a lovely couple :)

I like the older format, with the line, so we could keep track of all of the characters.
Hector, I don't think would earn second place if you went by their history, but as far as current events within the film, you could be right. Though Hector has made mistakes in the past, his actions as seen in the movie show nothing but a man desperate to be with his family. Even if he doesn't go about it the right way.
And it's a good thing Miguel helped keep him from final death. Cause if he didn't, she would not have been able to see him in death. And how ironic that Hector and Miguel almost dying was a wake up call to the family.
To my opinion this is one of the greatest movies I’ve ever seen on Disney, it’s got a big twist for who’s the villain, awesome main character, great moral, amazing happy ending, and emotional parts that honestly made me cry
They can be passionate mexican musicians in their own lives of inspiration.

Yeah Mama Coco is a small role but all she did was actions helping the greater good on screen. It kinda makes me want to see Coco in her younger years, at oldest a young adult. It would be fun to see more aspects of her personality and how she grew up.

Fun fact: the ending is actually based completely in reality. A lot of mental patients, myself included, have to use music as a way of stimulating their brains. Just like Miguel used a song Coco knew from childhood to stimulate her memory, I needed to use music that I knew from childhood to stimulate my voice after I suffered brain damage.
So yeah. It checks out.

The villains were actually on a spectrum of evil and competence from 1-10 by the creators, so they are already on a start with them.The Amoeba Boys were put on the 1 because they're so terrible at being villains, Him is at 10 for being the most evil, and Mojo Jojo is in the middle, so he can be really, really evil but also really, really incompetent depending on what the episode wants, and still stay in character (it's probably why he's the most frequent recurring villain).

Wings of Fire Protagonists: Evil to Good
Darkstalker - Obviously. Manipulates others with magic. Wants to make everything perfect, but in an unjustifiable way.
Peril - Violent, but because of her upbringing. Attempts to change, but only to please Clay. But does eventually find her own inner goodness apart from Clay.
Winter - Short tempered, looks down on other tribes. Learns to appreciate others, and his desire to rescue his brother is honorable, but only above Peril because his short temper doesn't cause him to burn up other dragons.
Sundew - Like Winter, short tempered and looks down on other tribes (especially HiveWings), but this is out of a sense of fighting an injustice that was done onto her tribe, and ultimately she learns to realize just because HiveWings have tried to wipe out the LeafWings, not all LeafWings (like Cricket) are always the enemy.
Glory - When faced with a problem, she sees herself as the only one capable of handling it, disregarding the contributions and abilities of others. Her challenge of Queenship of the RainWings could be perceived as culturally insensitive, as she insists on changing the life-styles of a group of dragons in which she is barely associated. Ultimately though, it was done in a since of justice to free the RainWing prisoners from the NightWings, and through her challenge, she realizes that she could not have won if it had just been her. Later she is stated as a fair Queen, and does not try to change the lifestyles of the RainWings too much. Her problem is that she maybe has too strong of a sense of Justice.
Tsunami - Impulsive and always ready for a fight, sometimes even looking for them where they don't exist. But most often it's for a good cause, even if she can misunderstand the situation.
Qibli - Like Darkstalker, wants power to make things the way he believes they should be, even going so far as to wish he could make everyone like him. Though jealous at his lack of Animus magic, most of his ideas on what he would use it for are just. And his inability to act upon it as well doesn't give him much chance to prove us wrong. He may also be overly loyal to Queen Thorn, that he runs the risk of following her rule without question.
Starflight - Overly anxious, his fear of dangerous situations often hinder his capacity to do what's right. Though in the end, he does overcome this.
Clearsight - Though the Soul-Reader lists her as almost all good, she does have a few problems. While her intentions for stopping Darkstalker from turning evil are just, her methods of controlling him onto the right path have a manipulative undertone to them.
Moonwatcher - There's not much to speak of on the evil side of her, but her misplaced trust in Darkstalker puts her lower on the list than some of the other greats.
Fathom - His meter may have read higher than Clearsight's, but his only apparent fault is that he's used more Animus magic than Clearsight. He may have killed Albatross, but only in an attempt to protect Indigo.
Turtle - Like Starflight, his anxious personality often hinders him from doing the right thing. But unlike Starflight, who is hindered by fear alone, Turtle is hindered by the fear that he will fail. Turtle's personality seems hardwired for good, but often doesn't act, thinking he'll just make everything worse.
Cricket - There isn't much of a dark side to Cricket. In fact, she doesn't have much of a light side either. Though she is often fighting for the good side, she lacks a deep inner motive for doing it. She seems more interested in finding answers to the worlds biggest questions, and her fight for what's good seems to be based more on instinct than and her admiration for Blue than an actual sense of justice.
Clay - Clay makes it onto the top three as almost completely good. Clay will do whatever it takes to protect his friends, and the only time he shows aggression is in this defense. The reason he's only number three is because his goodness is focused almost entirely on his friends, and is not as wide as a scope as the other two. Also, I'm sure all those cows probably don't have the highest opinion of him.
Blue - Almost completely selfless, and even going to great lengths to try to put himself in the talons of others. He's always trying to find the good in dragons, and his only fault is that his instinct to see the best in others can cause him to become submissive and accepting of tyranny.
Sunny - Almost too good to be true, Sunny, like Blue, always sees the best in others, even to a fault. She can't imagine any dragon having selfish motives, and are shocked to find out that they do. She also has a strong sense of justice, believing that every single dragon deserves what's best for them. She may at times wonder if other dragons deserve to be punished for their problems, but this is more a question of her own judgment, rather than out of condemnation, and ultimately tries to come to terms with why they act like they do. Sunny is perfectly named as she becomes a bright light of the series, representing what's right, and tries to bring out what's best for every dragon.

Coco is so cute. I wish we could have known about her as a whole but I think Coco is more of a motif then a character, a catalyst or a goal of kindness and purity.

Same here. Protecting your family is one thing, but that is NOT AN EXCUSE for what they did! You know what families are also supposed to do? Support each other, and for the majority of this movie, they never did. The father tells Miguel to listen to his family, but they wouldn't do the same. And here's the worst part of all: when Miguel came back from the Land of the Dead, they made HIM apologize!

Yeah, good intentions or not, her methods came across as abusive.
Well the reason she did that was because she thought Dante was dangerous. Dante just came in out of NO WHERE barking at her. No one would want a dog randomly coming out of no where and barking at them. Plus, She doesn't mean to be abusive. The reason she's so protective is because she loves her family. And even knows what music means to Miguel and her mom. So she now likes music and doesn't do her protective deeds.

I mean….in fairness to Imelda (sp?) she spent the rest of her life thinking Hector ran out on her and Coco, and had to raise Coco alone. By the time she died, she was probably in no mood to hear Hector’s attempts at apologizing to her for his absence. It’s not an anger that just goes away immediately.
