I hope you like the selection :) I checked over 1000x titles and went by different criteria: Games that have a nice art-style or/and graphics, graphicaly ahead of their time, focused on "3D" graphics and generally speaking pushed the hardware to the limit etc.. Which means not all games are technically the best games but graphically impressive achievements. Here are some other games that worth mentioning.: --- Nekketsu Koukou Dodge Ball-bu Altered Space Bram Stoker's Dracula Initial D Gaiden Ducktales Wario Land Foreman for Real
that Stunt Race FX demo running way better than the SNES version did with it's super fx chippery. by the way you wrote Battleloads when it's Battletoads. Cool video though. :)
Lots of effort clearly went into this and I love the game rating and descriptions! Definitely some cool new games to check out and that tech demo was amazing
Interesting list, you really highlighted technical excellence with great variety. :) The prerendered sprite factor doesn't actually matter to the engine since sprites are sprites regardless, so that's just poor engine coding for Toy Story compared to DKL. Prefer DKL2&3 since they increased the background depth contrast so the sprites were more visible. I don't think I've ever seen Road Rash on GB but it looks pretty great for the hardware. Looking back it was amazing how much true 3D graphics worked on the GB. Shame Faceball was the only example of Raycasting to appear on the platform.
Nice vid! I just think it is a bit problematical that you already gave the demo of Last Crown Warriors a score though, because… well, it’s just the demo.
Great video! Quick question: does the GB version of Battlezone have that "half the screen is missing" issue on real GB hardware, or is that an emulator quirk? Also, I find it amusing that the freakin Game Boy version of Race Drivin runs better than either the Genesis or SNES ports of the game (especially the former)! That said, I have a couple quibbles: * The Game Boy CANNOT do parallax scrolling since it only has one background layer and sprite layer each (plus a small "window" layer" for text/hud elements). What you're seeing in games like Prehistorik Man, Road Rash, Smurfs and Chikyuu Kaihou Gun is a scanline by scanline tile swapping trick. * Concerning Travellers Tales Toy Story game, the Sega Genesis version was made first per word of director Jon Burton (via his TH-cam channel Gamehut). The SNES one was based off of that iteration.
Thanks for the information. My impression was that parallax scrolling is a general term for an effect and the way you achieve it is not relevant. Could you provide some more information I would be interested to know more about that topic. I can't really tell about Battlezone.
A lot of these are more impressive than fun. Also, I could tell that Last Crown was a modern indie release. There’s something different in the art style

It would be cool if you added the launch date of the game. Great vid.

That was a very good selection, I think you covered every single standout title (graphically speaking) for the OGB. Great video!! 💪🏻
Glad to hear that. I checked over 1000x titles to make the list btw.

I can't really tell about Battlezone.
I'd def like to play a bunch of these games. I own Donkey Kong Land it's amazing 👌. That's impressive looking over that many games 💪🏼
When I saw Link's Awakening gets 9.5 out of 10, I wondered what else game could ever get 10.
In the end, no games got 10 :)

Kinda sad it's original gameboy only, because if it was gbc, metal gear ghost babel was going to be in the list
I will cover Gameboy Color in a separated video :)
@@wobblingpixels3921 half wanted to hear that when i commented! Hahaha
@@wobblingpixels3921 would you consider also including scene demos? The ones for GB and GBC can be pretty impressive.
Yeahhhh😃😃

sorry :P
mistakes were made ;)
SF2 on GB is a terrible game because it runs at 8 or 10 fos
