This video is perfection as I just did this this weekend following this video. All that was needed were the circlip and needle nose pliers and new bearings off ebay or straight from a machine shop.....
The tool that Matt used to remove the circlip needs to have very narrow tips, much smaller than are included with most tools including multiple tool sets. He bought it at Halfords, a UK organization that is probably not the most economical choice in the rest of the world. I estimate the hole in the circlip is 0.050 inches, too small for most circlip pliers you can buy from Amazon, for example. The ChannelLock 926, 6.25” internal/external retaining ring plier comes with five interchangeable tips including 0.047” ones that fit well. The current Amazon price in the US is $22. Very inexpensive tools are available on eBay but I judged them to be a quality risk.
I found all the measurements for the bearings in a post at "weightweenies.com" weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=81464 I know it's a while since your post, hopefully this is still useful.
There is a small rubber stopper on the outboard side, you remove this and the screw behind it. The spindle can then just be pushed through from outside to inside.
I know, the framing isn't great. The filed slot lets you get in under the retaining clip for the needle bearing by lowering the shoulder on the plastic moulding. With a bit of practise you could probably get the clip out without the slot, it just makes it easier.

Great video- just successfully swapped mine out - great tip on how to get the needle bearing clip out - worked great!
Glad it helped
The X series pedals do not have the clip ring on the inboard or tapered roller bearing side.

Yeah, a channellock is the thing to use for this--I have had one for years.

I figured it out zero body doesn't come apart like x5
How did you remove the grease cap?
It’s held in with a small Philips head screw, pop that out then use something pointy to lever it out.
Can you give me the measurements of the bearings in order to be able to order them before disassembling the pedal?

Why don't you just remove the bow tie and casing to get bearings out?
The plastic part is a single moulding, the bowtie sits on the outside surface.
Not sure what you did with the file . That part was hard to see

Where can a person purchase the middle needle bearing? Rebuild kits and bearings only supply the outer bearings.
