I went into those caves right after a big snow storm. It was terrifying... They assured me they salted the entrance very well, but my heart was still pounding while I was inching down that icy entrance hill with 45k lbs of Kraft cheese 😆
Atleast if you got stuck you'd be pretty good on provisions lmao.
@@joshuaflynn7324 lol
@@joshuaflynn7324 whats a provision

Haha at least if you have cheese then you could survive for days
Next time you go in some caves, roll your windows down before, it doesn’t matter if it’s 20 degrees or 104 outside it’s always about 70 in the caves, feeling the instant temp change is always a trip
55 where I am
Similar to being down in a mine.
I'll second that, though I don't have any windows to roll down as I only have a bike.
@@steampunknord 💀
Yeah those roads go down into the deep underground military bases you would be surprised what's all down there a whole nother world
Word of warning if you deliver to one of the caves in winter be sure to turn your mirror heaters on before you enter, they instantly fog up once you enter, learned that the hard way many moons ago..
had the same issues with both mirrors and windshield when entering plain normal tunnels
@@EnjoyFirefighting Didn't expect to see you here
@@justinm9832 I'm around pretty much anywhere ;)
@@EnjoyFirefighting Love your US compared to UK videos :)
Any time you go let immediately from cold to warm, the colder glass surfaces of the truck are gonna start steaming up and condensing immediately like a glass of ice water. Heat defrost on, and mirror heaters if ya got em!
The caves remind me of the caves in gta for the mobile operations center
That’s Springfield underground! I’ve been there lots when I was with prime. Their main terminal is across the highway from there.
My brother Cory and friend Micah used to team drive with Prime and they would send me videos of this place. I always told em that place sounds like a nightmare lol
I’ve got a delivery there today, I drive for Prime.
Is the pay good with prime?
@@kekauhi808 yeah if you decide to lease
Pretty cool huh!!! I do the cold storage caves in Carthage at least once a week. Kinda intimidating the first time in but once you see how it's set up it's not bad. I just started driving in March and was kind of inspired by your channel and a couple other to get into it Keep up the good videos.
That brings back memories!! I used to work for all the Wilson Logistics, they have all trailers you see around there, especially in dock 19. I loved going to the caves!
Yep saw a few Wilson guys come through when I was just hanging out in the sleeper
Wilson?! Those bastards!
@@trailerparksupervisor7046 What happened with you and Wilson?
@@jessefarnsworth2370 my buddy Ray used to drive for them and they screwed him over, now he’s off the road, living in his old sleeper cab that he saved from the dump.

That is an amazing transport. Thank you for posting this. Some of us live thru your post. You takes us on amazing journeys from the inside of our homes.
Really enjoy your channel. Looking forward to more posts Dave.
Stay safe out there Dave!!
I’m seconding that! Thanks for letting us live along with your journey 🙏👍💜
Thanks for the video Dave , had to deliver to the caves in Kansas City , it got easy after first delivery , went to the Georgia Dome underground to deliver for the Expo's before they demolished it , Stay Safe .
That was exciting, Dave, and I'm glad the turn/backing cam is back. I hope you go there again. Stay safe.
Loving the trucking vlogs, good to have you back Dave! Stay safe out there!
Love seeing turn cam back. Cant wait to see more backs with it. Thanks for the video Dave!
There's a number of cave places in the Ozarks, it's pretty cool because the temp is constant
I love the pure joy in your voice when mentioning the cave!
Does anybody else love the sound of the air brakes in that cave😁
I am glad to see "turn-cam" back in operation!
I did that shit 20 years ago!! Those caves are all over Missouri and Illinois, they are a "natural" refrigerator. Kraft foods owns most of them. Do yourself a favor and put on an old pair of shoes before you get out of your truck, and leave them on your running board before you get back in. That is like 4 inches of strait Grey muck...it will take you a month to get it off your truck floor!!
I went in there but luckily a yard dog was outside the entrance he took my trailer in and docked it i followed him bobtail very nice of him made it easy for me. If I remember correctly it was in independence on the east side of KC
Those tunnels go from NYC to LA and beyond under the oceans too. There are high speed maglift trains that go mach 6.
What?!
First time IS kinda cool
I've loaded at three different Underground Wearhouse's in the Kansas City area
That place is a lot bigger than you think and has a network of tunnels that go for miles. Some people believe that you can drive all the way to Colorado.
Some people also believe this is where the rich will hide after nuclear war! 🤷🏻♂️
@@denniscrane9753😂
Springfield Underground is only around 3,000,000sf of mined space. No secrets here!
This is so cool. I’m starting swift driving academy Monday here in Phoenix. I’m excited to see new things and experience things that not many others get to. This is really cool to see your videos
What made you choose Swift?
@@mutchler87 I have never thought about trucking until recently. Looked online for trucking schools and while I may not be paid during the academy it was the best option for me along with location. I know swift is a butt end of the joke with lots of truckers but honestly as a starter company and no experience they are up there as the top companies. I just have a positive thought about it. :)
@@DieselWeasle gotcha. I make $2k a week as a starting trucker, but I know not everyone can pay for CDL school. I think it’s dumb for people to dis Swift when they have way more truckers on the road so they’re obviously going to have the most rookies/accidents, etc.. but getting locked into a contract with them to pay for school isn’t ideal.. but if you can’t pay for school the options are limited.
@@DieselWeasle Oh and I’m also based out of Phoenix. Went to Phoenix Truck Driving Institute and then right after started with FedEx Linehaul.
@@mutchler87 dude that is awesome. Yeah with swift the one perks that they have for me was that if you or a family member (father or mother) that have/or are still serving and have a dd-214 with honorable discharge. Swift will cover the academy and lodging as well as bus during your academy time. This worked for me as I am without a job until I graduate. If I partner with swift or another company I will be happy as it will help with myself and my family.
I live in southern az past Tucson so it is a 3+ hour drive for me. I am still excited and can’t wait to see what new places and things I will see. Lol sorry for blabbing so much.
I’ve seen this cave in another channel named “ Natasha Trucking” and I’ve been waiting to see it on your channel and here it is. Stay safe out there Dave.
Been in several of them, Springfield and Carthage, Missouri. Outside of Kansas City and North of Atlanta. Just depends on what you're picking up or delivering which area of the caves you go into. You can now mark them off your list of things to do as a truck driver.
Probably some very cool experiences!
Damn man this brings back memories I’ve been working with my dad for CFI and my first day on the Job we went there. Love the videos man keep up the good work💯💯
Love your attitude man! Great videos!
Delivered to Subtropolis in KC for a live unload. The backing was tricky for sure.
Been down there about 15 yrs ago when I drove for my two yrs. But went back working quarrying limestone in southern Indiana. Now I work in a cave every day getting blocks out. Wish ours was dry as that one
This is what I’m talking about When I say adventures with saint Dave. Going to caves to delivery’s iv never seen that so this is epic good job bud
That would have been a good back for the freightliner
Good video Dave. Drive safely my friend. God bless you 🙏.
That’s trucking!!!! Great video
That's pretty cool Dave. I really enjoy watching your channel.
Dave does CFI Pay you for orientation?
@@dangregg3189 they do
I been there one time. I learned real fast that I was a professional driver after parking. You have to slide your temdom all the way back to back into the park. They have a parking lot where you park and call the company to get information. Good luck and stay safe in the cave.
Where are these caves
It's been YEARS since I've been in those!
That spot is a trip, stay in your mirrors and get out and look the first few times you go in!
If your truck is equipped with a hill start assist, flip the switch to turn it off and that will eliminate the majority of that jumping. Trust me on this one. It worked for me in a KW and in my current Volvo.
He did it before on his old truck but it’s still jumpy I remember him saying he took it in the shop and they fixed it for him
You are the best brother Dave I love it keep up the good work
Always rule of thumb, Springfield caves, Kansas City caves, always slide your tandems alll the way forward, it will save you from wrecking. Always watch your mirrors, always watch your trailer, it’s tight
Those caves in Springfield are pretty freaking cool and I've seen them before on other people's channels and I've been wondering if u was ever gonna get to go in there been waiting for that moment and you finally got to go in there. And nice job on the backing too and hopefully you will be able to go back again sometime. Anyway keep up the great work much love to ya Dave thanks for sharing stay safe out there safe travels God bless and I will see ya on the next one brother catch ya later
Yep they are pretty cool I used to live in Missouri and lived about 15 minutes from these caves and even tried to apply for a job there once.
Long time ago I worked in Marengo Cave where they kept all the tires.. THAT WAS A HELL OF A JOB.. just imagine chucking 53-foot semi loads of thread locked tires. From low profile to 100 Truck tires..
I had to go in there back in 2015. It's really cool. Never knew they stored frozen food underground like that, but it makes sense.
I drove a truck 23 years but I never seen this, I knew there is a cave chain in Kentucky but......and you are a good driver 👍
Been in the one in independence and it one of the hardest backings ive done. Had the end dock with pillar ahead and to the left.
I remember the first time I went through there I went through there with my dad back in 2016 and the entrance you came in at was the exact entrance me and my dad came in at and we stayed up staged up at the same staging lot you were at Dave and I'm not going to lie I was pretty excited when we went through the other first time my dad has been through my dad told me that day that he'd been through there about six or seven times but this is my first time that day but that was back when it was a miracle so I'm glad you get to enjoy it dude
I’ve seen this cave with stevens transport before. But it’s still a really nice looking cave
Driving in to a tunnel is one thing, but reversing down one that were under construction with a 53f tri-axle trailer
I've been there a few times, those caves are cool as shit. Fully downside of delivering there is a lack of the interwebs.
I love the turn cam. The few times I haul my sxs, everytime I check my right mirror I call it my turn cam.
You are so much fun to watch. Love ya
Well now we know Dave be in them Gun Running bunkers
ooh cheese! You're such a great ambassador for trucking, as you say you're all in this together so why make it harder than it needs to be when someone has a problem.
Carthage caves are awesome!!! Been there several times. I love it.
Just began my spotter position here at my warehouse, I feel natural moving these trailers. I can't wait until I get onto the road.
My very first SOLO load, was the caves at Carthage, had to back around those stone pillars, to get loaded.
Dave the cave you went to are called Underground Wearhouse I have been at two Underground Wearhouse's in Kansas City. Also Underground Wearhouse's are also called Tornado Shelters.
broo I was excited right with that looks amazingly awesome
That’s where those killer Zombies hang out!
You know what’s funny. Next video I was talking about staying there for the zombie apocalypse 😂
I worked in the caves in Kansas City. Its a whole new experience.
Hi Dave. That was so cool. Thank you for sharing. Nice to see you. Take care.
One of the most boomer comments ever
How on Earth do those engineers who planned this thing know that it won't come crashing down! Insane! 😯
It's actually an old Lime Stone mine, that has now been repurposed into leased warehouse space. It's pretty darn cool.
@@wings4passion Oh wow, that IS cool. Thanks for telling me!

For the first back in the new truck, this has to be the coolest drop 🔥🔥
Sure wish I had this level of excitement after 20 years. The caves are definitely something to experience fo-sho.
One location that makes me think I need to go from flatbed to dry van. I will honestly miss being able to see over my trailer when backing.
Hello, I drove through the same cave 12 years ago. It was cool seeing your video it reminded how awesome that cave is..
There's another one i been in its located at Kansas similar to the one you went through but you drive into a mountain that one was amazing.
Take care driver..
Good CFI DRIVER, been there, done that!
Your first few times in the caves are always a trip! Hahaha.
Your truck reminds me of the Mobile Operations Center in GTA 5. Which is also stored inside the GTA 5 bunker.
That was pretty awesome, Dave! Hope you get to go back there sometime soon. Would love to see more of the "secret" tunnels 😉😀 Stay safe ❤️
That was pretty cool liked that video 👍
Went there a few times when I was with prime. Pretty cool. Smart how they repurposed the cave. And no cell service which is icing on the cake. I need a cave like that to live in all by myself.
I love the caves!!! My first time was terrifying
Really enjoyed this video chap..Excellent
Dave kansas city missouri caves there several there a few was very challenging esp backing down 8/10 mile if you didn't back down you would have to blind side into dock yep !!
Never knew underground trailer yards/warehouses existed that is dope.
yeah. i dont really understand the purpose of being underground, but definitely cool

The good ol cave! Loved driving down there, theirs something like this out in Illinois forgot the city but it was pretty cool definitely gotta watch your turns cause it seems a little sketchy but it’s cool
I went into a cave with a big truck in Joplin, MO or Carthage, MO. I had to stage above ground until called on CB Radio.I always heard the underground storage areas were old military bunkers.
That’s pretty cool never knew something like that existed lol
That's kol I've never been there but I know guys that have picked up there
When I was pulling hopper bottom, I used to load insid a cave somewhere in tn, it was unbelievable, kinda spooky at first, I do remember it was on the side of a mountain,
Only went in there once and I thought it was really stinking cool
I've been to this place last year, june of 2021 and the results: didn't get my CDL, got let go from wilson logistics with a 3800 dollar debt to pay off
now I'm living out of a van conversion for one and I've been working jobs off and on to get-by.
I know that spot it's the springfeild u derground in springfeild missouri it's a truck interchange for BNSF railway and it's one spot I would love to visit it to see the railroad work there
I went into one out in KC years ago. I got all the way in the back and my power steering pump died! It was a pain getting out. Those things are crazy 🤙
Been there a few times it's definitely cool glad a had a chance to go there
That's in Kansas City it was a limestone quarry back in the days...it's cool down there all the time....

I remember picking up and delivering from that cold storage warehouse. I know it's in Missouri Carthage or Earth City? I don't remember but the place is awesome to go to also people there are super friendly. Enjoy the trip brother you'll love it.

Springfield Missouri. Been there many many times over the years. There is far more there than most realize.
Dave I'm a huge fan but dam, it sure looks fun to do a scavenger hunt for some dam docking doors in a cave
Man I’ve been to this place to, it’s a pain I was with my trainer so I didn’t have the chance to record it! I hate that place and hope I never go back glad to see you uploading regularly again
I just watched a video about the operations in that cave!
Wow and I thought I seen it all, first semi truck on boats and now in caves, like wow.
That's pretty cool a huge underground warehouse
My review 2 years ago on Google Maps is the top review still for that location. Awesome place!
Hey bro, watched you channel over a year ago religiously, literally was the reason I decided trucking couldn't be so bad. The whole week I was studying for my Permit I was watching your videos. Been driving solo for a year now and just wanted to say thanks 👍
"Do I just keep going?" The scariest dilemma you can face 💀 🤣
