The whales want to flex on ftp , so they cant do that , even if the most profitable scenario is whale on whale cause in this case the biggest wallet wins 😂
NCSoft's Lineage 2 is infamous for its extreme pay-to-win mechanics, with drop chances as low as 0.000000000000000001. Don't waste your time; just buy it :) This game is digging itself down without realizing it yet, and in the future, we'll see thousands of bots grinding like in Lineage 2.

Long answer: Pretty badly. You can pay money to bypass all of the game's intentional piss design revolving around slowing your progress to get you to pay.

It's a free game! Of course they'll charge for stuff. They have to make money to keep the servers up and maintained duh! I've made so much progress without spending a cent, it's called determination.
At least you don't have to pay to play like WOW

This is closer to GW2 where you can directly buy a currency that lets you buy the gear from the auction house. No one says it is P2W there because it's not the end all be all of progression which is what it seems like global TL is shooting for
Gw2 is not "p2w" because there's close to none vertical progression, once you reach ascended gear that's it (ascended is easily reached in less than a month for a new player, a weekend if you know what you're doing), all it remains in terms of gear is just getting different stats for different builds, and the long term grind is legendaries that have the exact same stats as ascended, but allows you to change stats freely any time, ergo, having all different builds available to mess up with buildcrafting (which is a huge thing in end-game there). The game is mostly horizontal progression, which is why almost everyone finds the cash shop in Gw2 fair. When there's constant vertical progression, like every other MMO (including TL from what it appears so far), then having this currency is obviously a huge p2w mechanic.
Me, as a player of mobile mmos, I can say that p2w in TnL is like only 5% compared to those lol.
Just wait like 6 month to a year and will see how much more it will be pay to win??

lol fun grrrr same shit as the majority of mmo's these days. I came back last night for a quick test, I went straight to the mobs and to my great surprise some classic shit. Lineage 2 successor? What???? The game is very, very far from what we knew at the time before the rotten transformation of Lineage 2. From the start, while I am still level 1, I manage to make level 7 mobs without any difficulty or the need for rest, which kills the interest in the content at all levels and pushes people to rush to the end game. Let me joke..... To provide some interest the game must be hard core at all times. We literally don't care about Unreal Engine 5 with all the lighting effects, reflection of objects and other contour elements which are only there for the eye, bring no value to the gameplay and only heat up the GPU and the CPU...... Do you remember the difficulties at the start in Lineage 2 and the exploration required to reach level 20??? Why not offer classes dedicated to collecting specific ingredients and crafts not otherwise available like it was in L2??? Another uninteresting title which offers no more than the stupid mentality "Come on, in 10 days I'm max level and I'll break your head"... After 30 minutes of play, I put it in the trash......
sorry you didnt enjoy the game man. There are a ton of changes coming so maybe check back at global launch. Its free so worth a shot
@@redbyrdYT got you but I was excpeting I was expecting content very similar to Lineage 2 before its destruction where I could for example grind on a mob specifically until its drop-list gave me a certain quantity of ingredients, recipe or other... without having to bother my head to read hundreds of thousands of menus to have these elements through NPCs or functionality of the game making it heavy and unpleasant.....
Its not in the same vein as wow. The best gear in WoW cannot be purchased with gold on the AH, it can here. All gold in wow does now is pay for some convenience, but you aren't outclassed by people who spent more money, at least not in a meaningful way.

Before the titan forge changes, you could by the best gear. In thrones, You still need to play the game some, especially with recent changes to global client, to obtain max level gear. Wow still allows you to do the same as this. Acting like wow and TL are miles apart is copium
Wow is also pay to win,for example in wotlk classic same goes for retail guilds where selling runs icc so u could get your shadowMourne,and t 10 so basically u could buy raiding services to get gear,or pvp boosting arena rating etc....so if u had alots of gold u could get best gear with it...

I'd still argue they are comparable. Last time I played in Dragonflight you needed 2 embellishments on your gear, which required farming (lol) or buying materials from the AH. You could then either spend a bunch of gold to level professions yourself or pay someone to craft them for you. On top of that you have enchantments, gems, consumables, etc. Most raid tiers will also have a coveted BoE piece that fetches 200k-500k gold on the AH. And always lurking in the background you have the ability to pay others in gold for powerleveling, M+ runs, heroic raid runs, etc.

if you dont pay to win? free to play players that play a decent or moderate amount shouldnt have trouble keeping up

There are pay to win aspects in the game that i explained in the video, such as the wow token. The front facing model is Pay to Play with SUB model, but being able to trade IRL money for in-game currency used in the auction house is possible in both TL and WOW
