    End screen crew question: I have found the sublime, pure, enjoyment of just watching a campfire for hours is the perfect end to a day of riding. If possible, I'll throw in an adult beverage to two, but a campfire is good enough on its own!

    Two notes: One, your vid reminds me I still need to replace my rain suit that vanished 5 years ago. Two, In the past I have been involved in marketing for smaller retail settings in the computer and electronics worlds. Your being sponsored and softly promoting OnX in this vid makes more sense to me and more interested in the product.(hate the word product) If my karma leads to me being able to travel more on the bike I will very likely be looking into OnX or something like it. I would say that OnX looks like something even an old man (57) like me can understand, but, I was into electronics before electronics were cool. :-) Leisure time? I have dozens of books taking up space on my phone. Good food and drink at the same time are always a welcome addition.

    I HAVE MADE NOTE OF THIS! Thank you so much.
    On another note, I did the thing today! I tried to ride up to Cloud Cap on Mount Hood. Less than a mile from the top I hit snow and immediately dumped. First time picking it up! Royal Enfield Himalayan. Not hard. No crash bars yet; shifter linkage was borked. I unborked it and noped right back down the mountain. Conclusions: snow=bad and don't ride Washington 14 after dark.
    Good luck with your trip!

    I brought a book with me on my trip to RMR but I don't think I ever found time to read it. My sister and I always seemed to get to camp too late for much leisure time 😁 we had to get our tents up and cook food.

    Leisure time activities, if I’m with people, BSing and generally having a laugh is always a good time. But I also don’t mind some quiet time if I’m solo, I can watch the fire and the sun go down for hours, maybe with a drink or a 🍺 if I stopped to pick any up lol

    We also do some elaborate dinners while camping which takes a good amount of time prepping, cooking, cleaning. Besides that we also take cards, dice, and pocket sized tabletop games like "tiny epic" games.

    Going out and doing the thing on a bicycle is not that great. Still gathering the funds for a motorcycle. So I stay home and watch many videos a day supporting you, and hundreds of other motovloggers. Keep on rocking, take care, ride safe.

    Most of the time I have spent camping was during hunting season when most of the down time was BS ing and hanging out by the fire. We make nice fires capable of heating many people. My favorite memory was when we put a turkey on a spit rod next to the fire and cooked it for Thanksgiving (we were hunting over Tday) Hopefully next year at RMR we will get to meet up and I will show you some fire pics :) Keep doing the thing for us

    Some great suggestions Amanda. I admire your adventure spirit. I'm just getting into solo mc camping since my dad is no longer able to ride. We did 25yrs of father/son trips. My fav camping leisure time activities are walking exploring the area and reading.

  • @erniecolussy1705
    @erniecolussy1705 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The only time that I do a camp fire is when camping with others.
    Before it gets dark I like to explore on foot the area around the camp site. This could include evaluating other camp sites for future visits. Trying to figure out some of the local history. (Why is there a mill stone here?) And take pictures.
    After dark it is reveiwing the day. There is also planning or adjusting plans for tomorrow.
    Then listen to the night sounds after turning the lights off.

    We need OnX in Canada eh.
    My leisure time is usually short. I don't mind setting up in the dark, so I try to maximize my exploring. But the downside of traveling like this is fuel range. I've sometimes camped 10 minutes out of town because the fuel stop isn't open and I won't make the next one.
    I'm an early bird and when camping with others, usually just go for a walk, maybe find more wood. Waiting...or continue waiting🙄🤣

    Fantastic! Having lived in the Beaverton area myself for the past several decades, I liked seeing all the Oregon scenery again, vicariously, through your travels. A few days ago I rode out Highway 30 to cross at Cascade Locks and do Harley's 10 Rides for 2021, going up to and along the southern roads / viewpoints of Mt. St. Helens. Enjoy your ride! John

    Great video and those views!! I like to walk near camp unless too tired. Once sun goes down I watch long way round or down which are downloaded on my phone so I can daydream about meeting people on my adventures. If I don’t feel like screens, I read a book by head lamp until I feel that I can sleep, which usually doesn’t take too long! Love your vids! Keep it up!

    Great video Amanda, as always top notch information. End Screen Crew?? Well I have only camped once from my scooter and that was at RMR 6, I had my tablet and my iPod music, Honestly I didn't need those at that one because the people were so amazing to meet and get to know. I guess the best answer is I don't know yet. lol Stay smooth and keep the shiny side on top. I will see you in a video soon.

    A couple questions. Please excuse that I haven’t gone to the onX Off-road website yet. I watched you import the GPX route. Was that route sourced from something else or did you create the ride in onX Off-road? Can you accurately create or edit routes in the phone app? How about on an iPad? I use Rever now and it works fairly well creating or editing on my Mac. (I like the highlighted good bike roads) But can be cumbersome and lacking when trying to do the same with my iPhone or iPad on the road. I would love to leave the Mac at home and be able to remain flexible with my routing and use only the phone or iPad on the road to make on the fly changes. Is that possible with onX Off-road? In your experience can you say onX Off-road is better than Rever for me because……….? I value your opinion. Thanks!

    • @marcoluoma3770
      @marcoluoma3770 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My experience with REVER matches yours. I need my Mac to create routes. And this kind of sums up the REVER experience: they just keep adding features and ignoring the user interface. They need to hire a good UI e pert. Or three.

      I'm so sorry, translating captions is really expensive. For this video alone to translate captions to Spanish it would be $40 USD, that would add up to close to $160-200 USD a month for Spanish Captions. I don't make enough money to be able to afford that.
