Giving step 1 and 2 during med school years,is it risk to do..?? I think for USA students after second year they have to write step 1 compulsory to go into third year. The students takes lot of tension because the marks of step 1 counts and hence to ease it now the same has been changed to pass fail method from 2022.
Here in US you have to go to pre-medical school after high school (4years), then apply to medical school (MD program, 4years, you need MCAT not SAT for that), after this you have 2-5 years of residency. Then if you want to do speciality like cardio or neuro or whatever it take further 2-3 years (fellowships, speciality) . Students have to take usmle step 1 in second year and you cant sit in your third year without passing step 1. Medical school expenses are near about 350k for citizens and if you are international students then you have to pay international tuitions fees. Let me inform you that there are no scholarships in MD programs and even if their are any they are usually for US citizens only. Once you are a resident you get payed like 45K-60k per annum depending upon where you get your residency. All the best to future doctors and nurses who wants to come to US. Everything is possible. Chase your dream if it is your passion. Last but not the least become doctors for right reasons and not just to make money.
