Giving step 1 and 2 during med school years,is it risk to do..?? Is there any sort of trials or like mocks before attempting and I have heard in one of you videos that giving usmle exams delay like in 1.5\2 years is a minus point like we get some kind of red flag.... So does that affect our usmle exams giving during med school years.

I think for USA students after second year they have to write step 1 compulsory to go into third year. The students takes lot of tension because the marks of step 1 counts and hence to ease it now the same has been changed to pass fail method from 2022.

Here in US you have to go to pre-medical school after high school (4years), then apply to medical school (MD program, 4years, you need MCAT not SAT for that), after this you have 2-5 years of residency. Then if you want to do speciality like cardio or neuro or whatever it take further 2-3 years (fellowships, speciality) . Students have to take usmle step 1 in second year and you cant sit in your third year without passing step 1. Medical school expenses are near about 350k for citizens and if you are international students then you have to pay international tuitions fees. Let me inform you that there are no scholarships in MD programs and even if their are any they are usually for US citizens only. Once you are a resident you get payed like 45K-60k per annum depending upon where you get your residency. All the best to future doctors and nurses who wants to come to US. Everything is possible. Chase your dream if it is your passion. Last but not the least become doctors for right reasons and not just to make money.

Manik, after pre-med and MCAT , when you fill for MD are you IMG/ FMG or at par with US residents? Same done with MD there , after USMLE for surgery are you IMG/ FMG. What I have understood after exhaustive research for any spot for MD and after that for Surgery your status for IMG doesn’t change till you get green card. If any clarity please update. Second is for you , if you go after USMLE step 3, you will be on H-1B and then green card by end of residency or 2-3 years. Whereas if you go after Part 2 only, visa is J-1, 5-7 years later H-1B and so on...

    Hi Manik
According to the recent medical guidelines published by the Indian Gazette it clearly states that no medical program must be at least 54 months ie. 4.5 years so this that mean that the US medical Degree is invalid in India , so how could we persue med school in US in that case what are your views on this
