It is my sincerest wish that humanity will one day achieve a technology that equals that of the fictional Ancients. To travel the universe in exploration and possibly helping other life ascend into enlightenment. And yet I honestly cannot fathom that our fate will go beyond the new (Industrial-Space Age), minor rivalries & jealousies undermine every advancement. Always leading towards conflict and inevitably ruin.
We already have this technology but its being hidden by the billionaire elite.
That escalated quickly....

The Stargate Atlantis franchise was, for me, some of the best Sci-Fi storytelling I had ever seen. I'm not talking so much about later parts including the very bad decision to kill off Dr. Weir but the first season in particular which culminated in "The Siege". That first season, and the second and third to a large degree, kept you in suspense because you really didn't know how the Wraith threat could be dealt with. I'm just watching it all over again and it never fails to deliver.

You know, since Milky way humans are in some ways descendants of Ancients, you can see the story of Stargate Atlantis as humanity finally returning to reclaim what is rightfully theirs from the wraith
Exactly. We're reclaiming our legacy. We are the second evolution of their kind, so we are their descendants. By that reasoning, Atlantis and everything the Ancients left behind belongs to us. And we are very good at learning new things. We very quickly learned how to use the advanced technology, not to mention the physics behind them. One of the reasons I love this show is it shows our resourcefulness, intelligence, ability to adapt, how we somehow manage to pull a win out of the fire even when we're hopelessly outnumbered, we barely win but we still manage somehow. Heck, we did in a few years what the Ancients could not in several thousand. We managed to weaken the Wraith, and deal them some serious blows. Basically, we went from less advanced to advanced in a few years and became a force to be reckoned with. And most of all, I love the friendships made in the show.
This 'Globus - Europa' is in fact Tales of the Electric Romeo (Immediate Music) with lyrics.
This is like the 1000th time I'm watching this, in 4 months >_>

You know, my friend used to tell me how Epic Stargate is. I never actually listened for the past years. I saw this video, thought "That looks actually pretty good.". Now I'm already at season 3 SG-1 after 2 days watching straight trough.

@@sickofitall89 The ship is called Destiny. And you're right, Dr Rush didn't fit in the series at all. The entire thing didn't feel like Stargate at all. Probably why it didn't survive past season two.

I think the first song is tell the battle betwen the Ancient and the Wraith and the second song is the arrival of atlantis expedition?

With all the knowledge we obtained from our ancestors, and our powerful allies, we became powerful. If the series had continued, I could imagine Earth making fleets of ships like Daedalus and Prometheus armed with Ancient and Asgard tech. Combined with our ingenuity, we'd be able to even the odds out considerably. Possibly even become as formidable as the Ancients themselves. The difference is that we don't have to wait millions of years to get to that level. The Ancients did that for us already. We just have to learn everything they know, and we would advance very very fast. I could see that happening if there had been more seasons of Atlantis. I could see us, having fleets of ships, beating the Wraith back. We'd probably also find another way to make ourselves immune to feeding, maybe even perfecting the current Hoffan drug. Thus dealing a serious blow to the Wraith. After we won this war against them, the children of the Ancients would now be feared and thus peace would reign in Pegasus. At some point, we'd reveal the existence of the Stargate program, and Atlantis would now be a colony in Pegasus, and it's purpose would mainly be scientific research and exploration. We would now be able to focus resources on peaceful exploration, rather than a war. And the city would begin to fill with people as new generations are born. The original teams would probably stay on the city and become parents in the new colony. With the city well protected because we discovered how to make the ZPM's, there would be very few species who would try to challenge us. I could see us establishing military and scientific bases on nearby planets, and some where we would build ships so that we don't have to wait weeks for new ones to come from Earth. We'd have our own space defense. New threats would arise and we'd learn to handle them as we did the Wraith. But our experience would make us so much more prepared. Earth would benefit from this colony, and life would begin to improve in many, many ways. And humanity would bravely traverse the unknowns of space armed with what we DO know. Armed with a little more wisdom and caution, we'd draw on our experience as we grew into a space faring civilization that prefers peace, but if provoked, will fight to death if we must.
I think they could make zpm´s, the instructions on how to do it were in the city database (the show spent more time off world than exploring the city), but i guess they need then to not gain the upper hand on the wraith, because deadlus class ship equipped with zpm´s would be almost invincible (deadlus facetanked a CME with a zpm equiped).
we would build an interstellar dominion and take up the swords the ancients and Asgard left us their successors
you also got to remmber they where putting all power to weapons because they where going into sidge mode dont need engens or other stuff just sit there and fire away

God damn it! I miss this show so MUCH! and the worst part is that there aren't any shows like this out now, or in the near future! It kills me inside! Does any one know any series in the likes of SG-1, SGA, SGU!?

I don't know! In my country ball (XD) it used to air on MOV and more recently on SCIFY, but not any more, I think! But they are available on Netflix! :)
All Stargate series are awesome, I have a personal preference for Atlantis, but all of them are very good sci-fi shows with very unique personalities. If you can start watching Atlantis around SG-1s 7th season, because that's where they split, if I'm not mistaken! Happy watching :)

Must say im really depressed that stargate did stop... i mean my dad did show me stargate sg1 s1ep1 when i was 15 and i just got hooked instantly to the series like my dad ;) and i have seen sg1,atlantis 5 times trough because they were just amazing BUT then did come universe... and it just fucked up the whole brand i mean there was nothing about the original stargate.. I did love the idea of old space ship but damn the actors and shows final product was horrible...

Both Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis are showing here in the UK, so i am watching them(yet again). They look as good today, as when they were first shown. Also enoying watching my favourite character Dr Janet Fraiser again, terrible decision to kill her off.

hmm i dont agree to this... i like SGU a lot.. it has the atmosphere that SGA hat at the beginning... these few people are stranded in a foreign place far away from home. Also the ancients tech looks amazing in SGU. great designs all over... the only thing i wouldnt have used for the story are these mind swapping stone things... kinda ruins that special atmosphere again
yea its odd how it works but it has somthing to do with it falling into the abstract art or somthing dont know the full detales but it falls in there some where but like i sade that might not even work soon with the new laws there trying to pass
Been watching Battlefield 360...So...Prometheus is essentially a hybrid Battleship Short Carrier like the Japanese built and fought in Leyte Gulf. I wonder what a true carrier would look like.

Skullost Star Citizen is the game , it will not be exactly Daedalus , but it's the same thing ! There will be as big ships as it there , 10 people crew and more with 80 to 200 people army on board and other small spacecrafts.

It's actually a real Ancient in a simulation. They found them in stasis on an Ancient ship.

+gavyn Hart They could've just said that a big ass meteor was coming, but they didn't want ppl to panic so it wasn't public. That would kind of explain the huge explosion in the sky (they blew it up with a nuke or sumthing) and Atlantis falling to Earth.

The moon was only that close to earth several BILLION years ago.
Today it is roughly 30 earth diameters from the earth. And even when it formed, it was not as close as shown here. It would liquify the surface to molten lava if it were that close.
Gravity runs at the inverse square of the distance, so halving the distance makes the gravity 4 times stronger.
Wathing order:
SG-1 1-7 season
SG-1 8-10 and SGA 1-3 seasons parrallel(one SG-1 then one SGA)
SGA 4-5 seasons
SGU 1-2 seasons
One day we'll definitely so advanced.

Does anyone remember a video like this one, but was about the four great races in Stargate? It also used the Diem Ex Dei song. I tried searching for it, but youtube must have taken it down. Does anyone know if there is an archived version of it hidden somewhere?
I wish that maybe one day the animators would re do the battle with the super hive to make it more massive. Maybe all human ships going to earth to defend it. Instead of just 1 super hive maybe add in some regular hive ships. Make the battle massive and more impactful.

not sure but my theory would be they dont need all the energy for engines and shields like they usually do in ship to ship combat so they put all their power to the weapon batteries... or maybe these weapons have something like... multiple settings. one to fire few powerful shots or many weaker ones

No it doesnt, O'neill is working at the pentagon in SGU and it takes place a year after the Super Hive at earth.
Well, all the technology they needed was alot of zpm's and a wormhole drive - why not specifically research those 2 things? The Atlantis hologram could also help here - its designed to teach juvenile ancients.

Are there theories on whether the moon is receding in its orbit at the same rate now as it has been in the past? And if so, how can we know what rate of change has occurred to make any claim on its actions billions of years ago?
We can't even state conclusively why the moon is in orbit at all.
