Continuing their partnership with the greatest rock 'n' roll band in the world, Eagle Rock Entertainment have announced the DVD and Blu-Ray release of The Rolling Stones'Some Girls Live in Texas 1978'. Available for the first time ever from 21 November 'Some Girls Live in Texas 1978' features Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood and Bill Wyman live in concert during the 1978 US tour which followed the release of their groundbreaking album Some Girls.
Capturing The Rolling Stones at their live best, and fully restored to the highest level of picture and sound quality, 'Some Girls Live in Texas 1978' was filmed at the Will Rogers Memorial Centre in Forth Worth, Texas on 18 July 1978 on what many fans consider to be one of the band's greatest tours. This was due to the band's 'back to basics' approach both musically and visually, as the shows were stripped back compared to previous tours, harnessing the new punk rock attitude of the late 70s.
Showcasing many songs from the Some Girls album, celebrated for being the Rolling Stones' most direct and diverse collection of music, and which by the time the band arrived in Texas, had gone to the top of the US charts, this concert demonstrates the sheer force and raw energy of The Rolling Stones live on stage.
Some Girls songs like 'Miss You', 'Respectable',' Beast Of Burden, 'When The Whip Comes Down' and 'Shattered' weave into a set list which also includes 'All Down The Line', 'Honky Tonk Women', 'Tumbling Dice', 'Jumpin' Jack Flash', 'Happy' and 'Brown Sugar.
Originally shot on 16mm film, the concert footage has been carefully restored with the sound remixed and remastered by Bob Clearmountain from the original multi track tapes.
This is available on DVD, DVD+CD, Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray+CD

When the phone rings
Its just some friends of mine that say,

Were gonna come around at twelve
With some puerto rican girls that are just dyin to meet you.
Were gonna bring a case of wine
Hey, lets go mess and fool around

Oh everybody waits so long
Oh baby why you wait so long
Wont you come on! come on!
Ive been walking in central park
Singing after dark
People think Im crazy
Ive been stumbling on my feet
Shuffling through the street
Asking people, what's the matter with you boy?
Sometimes I want to say to myself
Sometimes I say

I wont miss you child
I guess Im lying to myself
Its just you and no one else
Lord I wont miss you child
Youve been blotting out my mind
Fooling on my time
No, I wont miss you, baby, yeah

#TheRollingStones #MissYou #SomeGirlsLiveInTexas - เพลง
I WAS THERE! I was 16 yrs. old. Nobody could get tickets to this famous concert. So, I had my mother drop me off at the Will Rogers ColisemTheater. (To meet my friends?) I tried to buy a ticket from a SCALPER, for $150.00, & he laughed in my face. It was a very orderly crowd because, when the tickets went on sale, there was a riot. SO, a heavy police presence. The cops told us to form 1 line. People had started to go in. I had NO clue what to do. I had been trying for weeks to buy a ticket from the News Paper. The few tickets sold were going for $500.00 each. (This was in 1978) NONE of my friends would even try this 1 with me. I was petite, & very dressed up, & pretty, & looked younger than I was. A cop came up to me, & said: "Miss you need to get in line." I just burst out crying! I told him that a guy had grabbed my purse, & ran off with my ticket inside of it, & my friends had already gone inside.(I didn't know how I would see the R.S. but I had my Lipstick, & money in my bra) He took me to the Will Rogers Coliseum security. Who didn't even want me to repeat my story? They called the Rolling Stones Security. Who also didn't want me to tell my story again? They said: "Sweetheart, we can't find your friends for you!" "We can ONLY seat you in Row 6, Seat 15?"(They all were using Walkie-Talkies) Well, that seat was right in front of Jagger. I SNIFFLED saying: "That's OK." This very cool Stones security guy winked at me, & said: "You sure now?" I was escorted to my seat by an usher. I have the Program from that concert, & I called a friend from a payphone at intermission, & told her. The next day The Star-Telegram had a review of the concert. (FABULOUSE reviews) It said: "The only crime that happened was a young woman had her purse snatched in the parking lot." "The police were unable to apprehend the assailant ." My high-school lunchroom exploded into applause, & laughter, the next day when I walked in. 2 yrs. earlier, I had begged my big brother, to take me with him to see the Stones in Dallas. He laughed, & called me a punk! I have now seen the R.S. 9 times over the years. I just saw them in October 2019, in Denver. I paid $400.00 for 1 very good seat. My friend paid $900.00 for each ticket, & bought 10 tickets.NO JOKE! (She, & her husband wanted their 5 kids to see the R.S.) Amazingly, it was a very good show, & amazingly it soldout. It was a WARM, Saturday night in Denver, & that helped to sell many tickets. At the coliseum, the 'Nose Bleed' seats, were still going for $200.00 a seat. I have NO guilt for getting to see the Rolling Stones for FREE, 1 time. FYI, this no thrills concert was the BEST 1 that I have seen.
It's like I always say, when I saw them in 1975, ticket cost me $7.50, they're still $7.50...seven hundred and fifty
@@buffstavofring2755 Nah mate, it's awesome story
Rock on you lucky lucky broad LMAO
F*cking Awesome!!!!
This is an amazing story, totally brillant! Good on you, thinking fast on your feet too . It's these types of storys that define what it means to live your best life to the full!
They aren't the words. Mick off his head, what a legend!
A time machine...
Please!!! a time machine
@@patriciawright8786 so, you were there?
What a combination.......Rock, Blues, and Soul. The Rolling Stones do it better than anybody else.
More like disco and rock. I hear no blues or soul in this. At all.
@@ihvha29😂
Love how he just says fuck all i gotta sing this.... it's a high crime letting the sexiest groove makers in music enable a beast like Mick to be king of rock n roll
At record, at concert, The Rolling Stones are super!
I’m usually critical of bill wyman but Jesus he really plays a mean disco bass on this song 👌🏻
Critical of Wyman? WOT?
Why youre critical with him?
Why tf are you critical of him.
@@stathidandis4155 pretty sure this whole song was based around a Billy Preston bass line while he was messing around in the studio with them
RIP Charlie Watts, so many people will miss you.
"Some Girls" the album seemed to be all about riffing off the 1970s musical landscape: disco, country rock, and especially punk. As that was about the time I was born, I've a fond spot in my heart for the album, right up there with "Beggar's Banquet" and "Let It Bleed".
The Rolling Stones! Simply the best.
Wicked hot lyrics even when mangled by stoned Stones.
Haha honestly
Once again, here's Mick being Mick! I love this tune; Moreover I love the band that is performing it.
That man has really got the moves like Jagger.
incomparables. cuando los escucho me llevan a otro mundo!!!!
una delle più stratosferiche formazioni che ha fatto sognare intere generazioni con i loro brani !!! mezzo secolo di buona musica,,,,,, yeah,,,
I met, my wife, the year they came out with this song. We still love listening to the wholesome tones from the Rollin Stones together. Honey, did you put the Bengay where my Preparation H was supposed to be? Call me an ambulance, NOW! LOL!
My parents literally loved each other over these songs..still going strong...something must be up in that music...
I saw the Stones on the '78 tour as it was my first Stones concert. It was outdoors at Folsum Field in Boulder and I still have my field pass. Unfortunately, this one was indoors.
I WISH there was some way you could make time stand still for some people. These guy's I ADORE!!!
Mick Jagger is one of the greatest singers of all time
Mick can play some slide actually...he's really a pretty talented musician (and an incredible songwriter) on top of his showmanship
It's great to see that Disco still rules.
Just bought this DVD and watched it all the way through. Worth the money! A raw image of the Stones back in 78 without all the pyrotechno crap you see today!
the excitement is building , 4 more days and the first show in Los Angeles, I 'll be there :)
He has surpassed icon & legend status, he is a Masterpiece within himself. Jagger☝🏻🎤
one of my favorite songs of all times
I was lucky enough to catch their concert at the 4th of July in Buffalo New York front row seats out of this world
I was parked on 5Th ave NYC when this came out , I freaked thought the Stones had gone DISCO ! Now I can listen to it , Mick's Studio 54 Influence .
Clasico de clasicos. Amazing for ever "The Rolling Stones"
Amazing piece of music here......they do it so naturally.....epic band that's all I can say really
the bass line in this song just kicks my ass!
Amazing song! I fell in love with the blues when I was a kid, and then my dad introduced me to The Rolling Stones! changed my life ;)
Its just some friends of mine that say ......HEY WHATS THE MATTER MAN? We gonna come around at 12 with some Puerto rican girls just dyin to meet you.....we gonna bring a case of wine.... mess and fool around ...you know like we used to......

Fantastici, unici & inimitabili Rolling Stones!
BABY WHY YOU WAIT SO LONG!!!! COME ON!!!!!!!!
LOS STONES SON UNICOS E INIGUALABLES!!! NUNCA ME CANSO DE ESCUCHARLOS!!! ♫♪ ;)
I seen the Stones in 81 in LA CA, pretty Great. Prince opened, he didn't even get to perform, they booed him off the stage. Right after that, Prince became IT, yep. I worked for WEA at the time, Loved both bands :)
Why'd they boo prince off? Just to see the stones first?
No. Part of it was because it was mainly a rock crowd and Prince was looked at as an R&B singer. Also, he was wearing his standard outfit at the time of a raincoat, bikini briefs, stockings and high heels. Sadly, race also played a role in it.
Buaaaaaaaaaa cuantos recuerdos !!!!! Que jovenes que eramos, cuantas locuras que haciamos !!!! Aguante los rolinnnnn !!!!!
I was at this concert the day before my 25th birthday!
It sounds much better in this video than it did in person, sitting in the nosebleed seats, with the deafening sound bouncing off the concrete walls and ceiling behind us.
Excellent!
S'fkin excellent this set .....those guitars are cutting into this groove ....this aint no disco
Awww Mick I remember seeing you at Texas Jam and I wore pink and purlple hippie dress from India at town east mall I worked there and got my gypsie silk scarf. They wanted me to model
..but I had no idea when I got there the colors were pink and purple. And you were over my head I had a blast ! I love you and the real Tom Petty with Brown eyes. And Big Guy and my Papa Bears! Love, Pamala

@@DeltaLimaBR I'm from the future, and the music is just as good. Don't let some nerd tell you otherwise.
Could be that you're just an old man who doesn't want to venture out past other genres.

How about those Puerto Rican girls?
incomparables. cuando los escucho me llevan a otro mundo!!!!
I saw them in San Antonio in 1964 and then again in Houston in June 1972. The San Antonio concert was not sold out, but the 1972 concert required me to wait in line over night. They were some of the best concerts I've ever seen. By 1978 I was living in San Francisco, however.
Classic Stones for you! :)
bill strummin the throb!!!!!!!
Great simple riff as ever from Keef!
Música con mucho estilo ,
Genial ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
Miss my Angels.
Back in '78 us dico people in the north of england were listening and dancing to Saturday Night Fever while the hard core soul booglie disco folks in New York, I read, were all listening to Some Girls, and it was on at every party they went too. A kind of of Sgt Pepper for Disco? Funny though they go to see the Stones and Mick seems to have gotten into punk.
son lo mejor 50 años
A proof that the greatsest music already has been made
Impresionante .lo mejor la raizla base
The concert that I never saw!
