Mr. Rader was a "Compliance Officer" A government employee in a motor pool car with City uniform & two-way radio. His job was to enforce "City Codes" Not Laws -- animal regulation, trash regulations, property rules. I heard these facts immediately after his 2005 arrest, never since, no mention of this blatant fact on this video.
My brother has owned 2 acres for 40 years, 4,000 feet elevation, an "open land" preserve on three sides (no neighbors) built in 1830's,1940's and 1970's and suddenly has been trespassed three times in the last year with a dozen "Code Enforcement Officers" some with sidearms. His Crime? He is Allowed ONLY horse facilities and a licensed dog kennel, nothing else on the property. Interestingly, the County never said a thing when I parked my Federally registered aircraft at his house for 15 years, the Fed respects the Fourth Amendment

Rose West almost got away with the killings she committed with her husband Fred, banking on his suicide in prison to shift the blame entirely on him, claiming he was abusive. However, when the police discovered that one of the victims was Fred's daughter from his first marriage (his ex-wife was also one of their victims), investigatiors confirmed that said girl disappeared and was likely murdered when Fred had a cast-iron alibi of being in prison at the time. By trying to blame Fred for that killing, Rose had perjured herself and her testimony was discarded and she was charged as a willing participant to the killings.

Karol Kot - Murdered nuns and children in Poland while still in school, when hanging out with a girl he had a crush on at his gun enthusiasts club, he told her about his killing spree, hoping to impress her, she went right to the police.
Joachim Kroll - A serial killer from Germany that murdered women when he took walks in the countryside, got caught when a knee injury meant he couldn't walk for a while and he decided to murder his neighbours daughter. Typically he left his victims bodies where he killed them for the police to find, but Kroll couldn't do that with the girl, so he instead cut her up and tried to cook her to eat, the foul smell that was given off caused people to contact the police. Kroll initially said the smell was due to a wrongly prepared rabbit, but was caught when he threw the remains in the bin.

I lived in Grand Rapids, MI when Kraft killed those two farm kids. I remember it was so bizarre because the victims didn't live a risky life at all. Turns out he drugged them then was so stupid that he wrote the initials/details of his victims. He wrote GR2 which led detectives to him. Then they found one of the victim's jacket and other odds and ends. He was too arrogant for his own good. I'm surprised nobody has offed him in prison.

The Canadian military is full of right wing kooks, the Soldiers of Odin. Our White House is a joke, literally an old wooden house guarded by a dozen guys eating donuts and one of those kooks just walked into the house last year. It's a myth we don't have guns, handguns are everywhere and I could buy an AR with some simple paperwork. One thing we don't have are school shootings, 6 dead in 1975, 14 in 89, 1 in 99, 4 in 92, 2 in 2006 and 5 dead in 2016. Also no beauty pageants for kids.

Tim McVeigh used the name Robert Kling to rent the Ryder truck. He did not use a credit card. He used his real name to rent a nearby hotel room. When investigators surveyed locals with the police sketch of "Bob Kling," the hotel owner recognized him as McVeigh and that's how they got his real name.
When he was pulled over for driving without a license plate, it was less than 2 hours after the bomb had exploded. He was subsequently arrested during that traffic stop because he was illegally carrying a concealed firearm. The patrolman who arrested him had no idea he was the perpetrator of the bombing. In fact, the officer didn't even know the bombing was a terrorist attack yet at that time. He thought it was a natural gas explosion or something to that effect. It wasn't for another two days, just before McVeigh was set to see a judge and likely be released, that they found out he was the main suspect in the bombing.

Leaving the murder weapon in his girlfriend's barn, leaving pieces of his parents bones in the chimney after he burned their corpses (you could see on youtube the recording from a neighbour's house how the lights in his living room were going wild because of the fire). His mother's body was found because he used Snapchat, not knowing that the app gives up his location. Oh and using his mother's phone to message to himself how they arrived at the cabin and enjoying the parade at july 4th, not knowing that the parade happened at july 3rd. Oh and they also found his google search history which was "Wisconsin body found", "dismembered body found", "dismember body found in Wisconsin river".😂

Not a serial killer but Krystian Bala wrote a book from the point of view of a killer. He wrote it in such details that only the killer should know. The author was the killer and the book is titled Amok.
Vlado Taneski was a journalist who was covering the killings of older women. However he included a detail that wasn’t publicly known in fact not every police officer knew. He was the killer and him writing that detail lead him to being arrested. Though there’s some issues with his arrest (haven’t looked into the case in a bit)

kind of a stretch to say that not burning your food waste because you're familiar with California v. Greenwood is a "mistake."
Might as well say committing crimes in the first place is a mistake. Which is true, I guess, but is reductive.

The lack of research on some of these is ridiculous 🙄 they did not find Peter sutcliffs weapons hidden in the bathroom at the police station. When he was arrested he’d asked the PC if he could have a piss before they took him in, and he dumped the hammer and knife behind a wall. Harold shipman only included himself in one will. That’s what got h caught and makes his case more curious. Until then he seemingly only killed for the sake of it.

they grew up exposed to higher levels of environmental lead (which is strongly linked to violence) than any generation before or since, and additionally in many cases were subject to early childhood abuse from dads with undiagonosed PTSD or even had their own traumatic/dehumanizing experiences in Vietnam.
Note that all of those things were true to an extent before an after that era, but not so widespread or overlapping as then.

It was much easier to get away with these crimes nd sort of blend in. Not many cameras, internet, nd lack of communication between police departments. They got caught more likely as technology advanced, or stupid/cocky mistakes. Although it still happens today, more people are likely to think twice about fulfilling their fantasies nd or continuing a spree with almost cameras everywhere
