Great suggestion. My very first version was torn pieces of paper that were numbered, and I used a safety pin to pin the paper to the stack of blocks. I don't have a tutorial, but I used a safety pin, jewelry jump ring then a metal tag. The numbers are permanent vinyl cut with a Cricut or Scan and Cut. The metal tags were hard to find but you could substitute a wooden tag and number with a Sharpie pen on both sides. In an earlier version I used DMC floss bobbins made to hold embroidery thread. I used both the Sharpie pen and the vinyl numbers to mark them. The big ring I got at the office supply. The container I got at Michaels in the wedding section. Look around your local craft store for more ideas. I sold these sets for a while, but they took a long time to make. Good luck!
