Hey Will, I live south enough that "most" winters don't kill off our bananas. I've been told the absolute best thing to help them for the next years production is to cut them just like you did here, but to place the cuttings around the plant, kinda like a mulch. It's best to try and cut it up as much as possible. Anyways, just thought I would lyk. I always enjoy watching your videos!!!!❤❤, Lori
Yeah that's a good idea, I know bananas like a lot of organic matter. I did add compost around them after this, so that'll help. I forgot until you mentioned it, & I should of tried it, but I've heard of folks cutting the trunk up to about 4 ft. & placing a barrel on top, that way they already have that growth for next spring. Will have to do that next year

We live off venison broth all year! Nothing goes to waste round here. PS- We feed the leftover meat from the broth to our dogs, but my gramma likes to make hash out of it,if you wanna try that as well
@@HoneybeeHollowGardens I checked it out. Very cool. I live in very flat, heavily glaciated NW Ohio where there are no slopes but I do remember seeing something similar while driving cross country in Iowa and wondering what I was looking at. Now I know! Ya learn something new every day. Thank you
