- The song “Kauna’’ is based on the 6th rune of the Elder Futhark. Kauna, Kaunan, Kaun or Kenaz stands for the K sound. This rune can have multiple meanings. Kaun in Old Norse means wound or ulcer. It is also known as Kenaz (meaning torch) based on its Anglo-Saxon name. The deeper meaning of this rune symbolises warmth, enlightening and knowledge. Associated with ritual fires when celebrating the winter and summer solstice. Kauna, the great purifier, the torch and the wildfire, burns away the decay in the heart. The ulcer burns the body in sickness and Fire cleanses the soul, and lights the way.

in Finnish, Kauna means grudge, resentment, and rancor. we also use Arka, which I believe in old norse meant weakling. here it means sensitive and timid. so I suppose in a way it still stands for the same thing.

You're right! Todays history is turned upside down, most city names, places, surnames meanings across the whole world have Baltic/Lithuanian language origins. In Turkey there is Kaunos city as well. Kaunas means fighting or waring. Kauna is with inflection meaning that attack is happening.
The glorification of Germanic tribes are a misleading history cover up, hiding the trails of Baltic people languages, or so to say Arian languages.
