Mike Monroe was a common sight in my hometown of Turku, Finland, even a couple of years ago. He could be seen riding his bicycle in the city center and along the river Aura with bags of empty bottles. Finland is among those very few countries where even a world-famous person can walk on the streets without anyone bothering him and living a rather normal life.

I agree 100% These guys gave so much to the 80´s rock/glamrock scene back then. And so many "iconic" bands these days got inspired by HR. These guys should deserve a place in the Rock´N Roll Hall of Fame.

@@ray_wolf Kind of sad how bands like Motley Crue, Guns N' Roses, Poison and Cinderella all became superstars in the 80's having been heavily influenced by Hanoi Rocks yet Hanoi Rocks never achieved similar success. But in the end the musical accomplishments can never be taken away.

@@markboller4313 If we’re speaking in general, then bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Scorpions are all from outside the United States. That never stopped them from accomplishing great success Stateside during the 80’s especially.

Such a beautiful chorus. For those saying Hanoi Rocks should've been bigger, you're right. But after reading their book, I don't think they'd have lasted long even if the Razzle tragedy never happened. They were a mess (except Monroe), with Andy and Nasty on heroin, and Sam and Razzle partied hard too. Monroe, who was a health nut in' 84, likely would've gotten fed up with their addictions. Those guys lived hard, living the Motley lifestyle. It's possible they could've gotten through it, but unlikely. Also, in the mid 80s, arena rock was what sold and Hanoi were more traditional rock N roll. They may have looked like the bands that copied them and sold millions, but their sound was pretty different. They're still one of the greatest rock bands ever, and fortunately they reunited later and also their side and solo projects are very good.

    2020? ~ YES !!!!!!
The music's slowly dying, and I'm jumping outta my jeans
I jump into the bed, you're there already waiting for me
Ain't this a perfect way, to spend the nite
there ain't no better way, of killing time, than loving you
be sure of that I do
It's reached top speed, and I'm getting inside of you
this is hot stuff Mama, taste it, It sure tastes good
    oh yes it does
It's maybe cold outside, but in you the fire is burning
and when you bite me babe, love is hurting
Tragedy life reminds me bout, a symphony on the radio
first a little bit too fast, and then a little bit much too slow
Tragedy life reminds me bout, a symphony I heard today
first a little bit too fast and then a little bit much too slow
    for me
I wake up in the morning and I feel, the pain in my head
if it's rest I need I'd rather be dead, no destination in this life I live
no expectations I just drift and drift, and drift
