@lawrawwill no, in the US we have the left handed fencer on the left side to make it easier for the director. in international tournaments the first fencer called is always on the right and the second is always on the left. in the olympics it happened to work out that the left handed fencer often ended up on the right side, but that is just a coincidence
damn....it looks hard as hell =S And I was so eager to try out fencing!! Watching these guys I'm not so sure anymore haha I'm guessing you need a hell lot of coordination, right? Just the one thing I lack. I guess fencing doesn't help the uncoordinated xD
@@CyrusofChaos I was referring to other bouts from that Olympics, but since the Olympic bouts would be taken down, would a bout from the 2010 World Championships work? (Especially Ota vs Sheng/Joppich vs Sheng)
You're a legend for posting all these fencing olympic videos here!!!!
griftie I think he’s the only person besides maybe the Olympic or/and the FIE Channel that posts 2008 bouts.

yes, i have bouts of all three weapons
weird thing i have noticed for beijing the fencer's are back to ref not front to ref
@GTFelver
Hell, it's the Gold Medal bout at the effing Olympics. I would yell after every touch, too, it's probably incredibly intense.
such high level fencing, i cant understand!! i need a commentary!!
@CyrusofChaos
Yeah we have us lefties on the left in the UK. Didn't know that about internationals though. Thanks.
@luvinwafflez Oh man! You have a fencing team at your HIGH SCHOOL!? I am so jealous. That is really cool
@GTFelver Thanks, theres a lot of schools in my area that have teams
@GTFelver I yell after scoring touches for my high school, I'd be screaming my lungs out at the Olympics.
@0ndem
I noticed that, quite odd. they don't have another ref on the other side do they?
What is Keibrink using??? that is the flickiest blade i've ever seen.
Gunnar Gardner Allstar da best
nothing special. An allstar BF white. It's technique. I use their stiffest blades and can do the same thing.
do you have epee videos too ?
3:43 did I just heard people yelling “let’s go German” in Chinese ?
Since I don't speak Chinese it sounds like you would be more qualified to answer that question than I am 😂

Regina ChaMa Or the unbalanced
It improves over time no worries 😉 you can still start
Can you do an analysis of this bout, or does it go against the Olympic's policy?
Or in fact any of Ota/Kleibrink's bouts from 2008 (all were really entertaining)
Foil Fencing Highlights I can't really do Olympic bouts or they will be taken down ☹️ what other bouts are you talking about

Surely it's just as hard for a lefty to fence a righty as it is for a righty to fence a lefty? If anything I find it easier, on occasion :P
Man, does Kleibrink really need to yell after every touch?
