    I have to tell you something: EVERYBODY loves this bike. Just random people are always telling me how cool it is. Every day almost. I put 300-500 miles per month on this thing, local errands and runs, since August 2021 when I got it as a "backup bike". It's now almost November. I thought this thing was comical when I first hopped on it but I fell in love with it fast. The brakes pulsed a lot-- just do a quick caliper loosening and clamp the brake levers on hard then retighten the caliper mounting bolts to realign them, then also fully bed the brake pads in and that goes away. My brakes worked perfectly and perfectly smoothly after that.

    This is my first time ever owning an an electric bike and I am so glad I purchased this one. I changed the seat and added a basket at the back and I practically ride this bike every where and the battery is still fully charged with all 5 bars lit up by the time I get home from doing many errands. It's definitely worth the money and it is so powerful. I ride this bike on low mode because of how powerful it is.
    Also, I car wrapped the frame where the logo is so that no one knows what brand of bike I I bought. I get so much compliments on how cool my bike looks when really all I did was added a basket at the back. Sometimes I think my bike is like a popular girl or diva the way both men and women keep coming up to me and complimenting me on how cool it is. I am very happy with my bike.

    I bought one for Amazon. It was one of the last ones since now they are currently unavailable. I wanted a 29" wheel, gears, and a 250w motor. My reason was having a lower range and having to pedal my way home. 50-80 miles to the battery and a stout motor gave me more confidence. The dual suspension was a plus, too. My local roads have a lot of potholes. It had a lot of pluses to the RadRunner that was on my list. I have been "on the fence" for about a year to get an ebike. This one makes a lot of sense, I think they will sell a lot of them. (My bike is in transit, so I haven't even ridden it yet. It's all research)

    • @M3RRIH3W13
      @M3RRIH3W13 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I received the L2 a few weeks ago. I like it. It is more of a moped than a bike. Using the pedals makes you use a "hamster wheel." The battery seems to stay in 5 bars forever. I charged it think it had to be down more than 4 bars. I have pedal a little when going up against big hills, but it isn't like exercise. The motor is strong and feels stout in building. If you want a moped that cruises at 15 mph, this is your huckleberry. It isn't going to give you a lot of exercises.

    I did purchase one a hdtea ebike looks like the same one here. I’ve never ridden an ebike and I’m in love. I sold my Dahon bike and so happy with this purchase. The bike is awesome and the suspension is so great even the seat has suspension so you do get a smooth ride. I love not having to peddle so if the weather is good I go to work and home on it. Long battery life and so much fun to ride. I love that it folds up so I put it in a case and it’s out of the way. This is such a great video. Thank you for this.

    If those specs are fully accurate, then that is *insane* value for the money.
    $30 less and you get the eb7 that only has *20 miles* range. Even my RadMini would only get around 50, but the fact that this has suspension, fenders, a passenger seat (mainly for cargo naturally but hey, at least it's offered) this is crazy good.

    • @Electrek
      @Electrek  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    A month ago I bought one thru Amazon.
    What sold me was the size and the range.
    When folded it fits perfectly in my hatchback.
    As far as range... slightly disappointing.
    I've been unable to get the 50 to 80 miles people talk about.
    With the battery fully charged I'm able to cover 42 miles and no more.
    That's without pedaling at all. Just throttle.
    Which is still amazing compared to most ebikes out there.
    I'm actually fine with the range. It's just that if you're gonna advertize something you better back it up.
    How'd you get 50 to 80?
    As far as speed I'm able to cruise at 17 to 18 mph.
    Only once did I reach 19 mph. The very first day I tried it.
    As the battery discharges your cruising speed will decrease.
    Obviously your weight will affect the speed and range.
    Uphill slows the bike down to about 12 mph. But ok.
    All in all, the bike is solid.
    Brakes are very grabby. But work.
    Seat is fine for the first hour. Gets really uncomfortable after 2 hours.
    Shocks have about an inch of travel. You can still feel the terrain.
    I tried pedaling once, without the power on.
    Fatsest I could go was 7 mph. Pedaling hard.
    Not worth it. This is not an actual bike.
    It's more like a folding scooter with shocks, disk brakes, wide seat and a monster battery. That's how I see it. And I'm ok with it.
    It's perfect for exploring new area because of the size and the range.
    Just what I needed.
    This is my one opinion of this bike/scooter.
    An actual owner.
    Considering what I paid for this toy ( $849 ) and what I'm getting out of it, I would rate it at 7.5 out of 10. So far...

    That 15 mph tho... five miles less per hour of travelling kind of defeats the purpose of the bigger battery - I commute to various places all over the Phoenix metro area - the extra 15 - 20 minutes to get to a site isn't an absolute deal breaker but it means having to schedule 45 minutes extra between job sites - ugh - it's a hard call - I'm used to 23 mph but have to carry a second battery in the rear cage I have mounted to the rack - it's 4 10ah lead acid batteries in series -heavy but durable and trustworthy - it allows me to charge the Lithium batteries at home or onsite but still be able to use the bike in a pinch and I get about 15 or so miles out of them when they are in use. I wonder how hard it would be to switch out my current controller for the one on this bike... if that was possible I think that the value would absolutely be there.

    East Asian design. That used to be an epithet, but it is coming into its own. The mantra of mid priced ebike companies in the US is that they are 'hands on' in China.There's a little put down in that. But this is getting into bikes that are pure Chinese, and the only question is how well they can market. Amazon makes that easy. This bike has some semi-fake reviews on Amazon, but that's a problem generally. It's a nice design. They have a clever and complex logo. There's a confidence level here. Tough to say about lith batteries. A Haibike replaecment battery is maybe half the capacity for around $700. These guys give you twice the battery plus, graciously, the free bike, for $700. Jehu tears stuff apart and he finds Chinese cells, not really identifiable, in upscale lith generators. There are a lot of lith packs on Ebay for $200. It's robotic assembly. I don't know how long battery packs can be a profit center for ebikes, and a 1 kwh battery is a very good capacity. I'm fine with 15 mph. On paths with any congestion, that's a good speed. Five minutes is a good length.

      @Electrek  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I can almost guarantee that these are off-brand Chinese cells and not one of the Big 5 (Sanyo, Panasonic, Sony, LG or Samsung). The good news though is that as the capacity increases, the need for "good" battery cells drops a bit, since the larger capacity can handle the same power with less voltage sag. For small batteries, it is very noticeable if weaker cells are used since there are fewer cells to support the load. But for $739, I can't complain about using generic battery cells.

    My Fiido L2 Came with a broken plug on the battery, they sent me a second battery, also with a broken plug. I fixed both. The range is about 20 miles, not the range they claim. The brake pulsate badly front and rear. On sand or gravel it's very dangerous. I regret having bought it.

    • @steveshea6148
      @steveshea6148 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Loosen the caliper bolts then clamp the brakes on, tie the levers to the handlebar. Now ritighten the caliper bolts. U will likely find the Pulsing gone. Also, if your L2 is like mine was, the pulsing will almost completely eliminate simply with repeated ( over about 500 miles, which is what I cover in a month orxdo) hard braking. That's actually what got rid of mine. But yes realign the calipers, it's easy and works a charm. You will have perfect braking after that.

      I put a sizeable plywood load deck on the back instead of the padded seat and it is a cargo hauling monster believe it or not. I put a trailer hitch on the back of the plywood deck too . Folding pedals broke after first month/ 500-800 miles, simply replaced them with what I had sitting in my parts drawer. Integrated lights were always funky, but I have other lights so I haven't bothered working that out. I love the little buzzer horn and how the bike beeps at me when I turn it on tbh
