Thanks Matt, eating enought is my major difficult. I'll try to relax about it.
I tend to eat healthy because I happen to like healthy food. Give me a choice between lean chicken salad and pizza and i'll go for the salad. However I don't deny myself anything. Love pizza, chocolate, ice cream etc. Love beer. Food is one of life's great pleasures. What I take from this video is the importance of eating regularly. Hey, make up a plate for me, that sounds good! Your example is spot on about how a healthy diet can be more satisfying than an unhealthy diet which is the whole idea behind the RDP approach to healthy eating. The healthier your diet is, the more enjoyment you should get from it. And I agree about the salad too. My dad can make a mean Chef's salad that's better than any pizza. The key is a balance of protein, fat and acid (like from vinegar) so yummy!
Exactly what I am doing on keto. Because of difficult gut condition for over a decade, I searched for a way of eating that satisfy me without having to eat a lot. So I eat the most caloric dense foods. It works much better now. Meat, eggs, cheese, avocado, nuts, 95% chocolate, butter, cream cheese and so on😅

One bit of "conventional wisdom" I abandoned long ago was the idea of eating 6-8 meals a day, or every 2 hours, yadda yadda. Humans aren't ruminants and our digestive systems aren't designed for that. Eating like that just leads to chronically elevated insulin levels, which in turn leads to insulin resistance, which is just a nice way of saying Type 2 Diabetes.
You're right about not needing to eat 6-8 times a day, but not so much about the chronicle elevated insulin levels. That's more determined by the total amount of food you eat rather than the frequency. You'll have the same total hormonal response from a given amount of food regardless of if you eat it all at once or spaced out throughout the day
Promoting a nasty diet isn’t what’s needed Matt , just a handful of nuts before bed is an extra 500 calories and none of the negative health effects of the Ben and Jerry approach imo
I prefer the more 'healthy' food anyways. I just don't like coke and all kinds of lemonades, I prefer water, tea and coffee. I rather eat some vegetables than chocolate and chips. But I neither worry about what I eat, nor do I count my calories. I eat what I like. Fortunately, most of it belongs to the healthier category of foods.

You don't have to eat "cleaner" but you do have to get more calories, you're not just going to get noticeably extra size from out of nowhere. Like this video said the "you have to be at a caloric surplus" is a myth, but the reasons for it being a "myth" was more to do with amount of meals and nothing to do with being at a caloric surplus. You could be at a surplus with just a single meal a day.
I really like it. Just try it for a few weeks, it's not going to hurt you. IF is very personal and the variables are different for everyone (length, food choices, time of day,...).
Please, do not do it if you wanna consume more calories. The point of IF is you will eat less if you have a shorter amount of window to eat. Hence you will lose weight. But if you are unconvincable please just do something for your health: eat breakfast and lunch and not lunch with dinner(you will sleep a lot more deeper). But you will find it like impossible to eat 25-35(or even more) hundred calories if you have 8hours(or less) to eat(except you eat nothing but junk). Oh and the last thing: at lenght(means 3months or so) your body will unbuild your muscles for energy(cuz I suppose you dont have a lot of fat in your body if you wanna bulk), and it will extract the marrow from your bones and from other organs to get the vitamins and other stuff for living and so on. But its up to you!
In theory the health benefits are there but it becomes harder to get enough calories. If you do a 12 hour fast every day you could likely get some of the health benefits and maybe some fat loss and actually gain muscle provided you're eating the right amount. If you want to do it you'll need calorie dense foods
I was doing intermittent fasting but i think that the best thing is to keep distance between each meal. This makes you comfortable with fasting periods (try doing 12 hours of feeding window instead), and you should try to do a 24-48 hour fast every month or so when you feel it. Hi matt greetings. I recently started a routine of squat push-up pull-up deadlift and overhead press. Can i do those 5 exercise in circuit 3 times a week. Like a full body workout 3 times a week..
I have a gastric problem and I have been so nauseous for the past months. I'm not gaining any muscle and I'm feeling tired because of very low intake of food. What should I do???????? I'm in a very depressed state.. should I give up and just inject the magic drugs? Help!!!!!!!!!*!*@*
...and here i was, thinking there is a blatant obesity epidemic in the US, yet, you still find people worried about not having a caloric surplus to build muscle, ironically, the dietary advice they get is Butter, Oil, Cheese or Ben & Jerry´s...
The more I learn about how dysfunctional the typical American diet is, this actually isn't that surprising. Overeating habits and under eating habits actually go hand in hand. The more we have of one, the more we have of the other ironically enough.
@@RedDeltaProject I get the gist of your video and i´m not a food fascist, but i reckon someone with your reach could be just a little more careful in your recommendations, as there are always those taking it very literally, besides you don´t have to go very far to yield those 300 kcal from better sources...3 bananas do the trick.
Good thought, but it does count calories in a sense. The body is aware of the nutrient availability of food (of which calories are part of that) so it's more aware of the energy availability
You had me until you suggested cheese, oil and butter. I know those were only examples, but man theres no nutritional content in oil and the dairy industry should be outlawed for how they treat cows.
I'm all for treating animals better, growing up in VT the old town I lived in we literally had more cows than people. But there's a lot of nutritional value in those foods. Anything that can supply calories in any form does. But no, it's not essential or anything.
RedDeltaProject Oh! Thanks for the input. You’re right. Those foods do have value. I was just saying that dairy isn’t so good, not just the treatment of the cows, but mostly because of the unsanitary process that they use due to high production demand for dairy products.
I am trying to unlearn bad habits, tho. Eat less “low-calorie, low-fat” carbs and eat more fats I.e. nut butters, avocado. Instead of lf milk in coffee, go for the 1/2 and 1/2. And no carbs after like 3 pm. (I’m trying to drop some body fat). And up the clean protein. Sadly, I don’t think the Ben & Jerry’s qualifies. Cry!!!! Thanks for the video Matt!
I used to consume 5-6 meals throughout the day, and thanks to RDP I realized the importance of listening to my body. Now am consuming about 3-4 meals with a good solid portion to keep me satisfied for hours rather than eating every 2-3 hours. Don't force to eat something that your body doesn't need people!

Hi matt greetings. I recently started a routine of squat push-up pull-up deadlift and overhead press. Can i do those 5 exercise in circuit 3 times a week. Like a full body workout 3 times a week..
Why don't you try it and see for yourself how it feels
I've just started a similar routine but without deadlift. Mine has dips pushups pullups overhead press squats and some variations
@@iamtheonewhoknocks4288 yes i think you are right
@@ANKIT258456 i did that in past without deadlift . i knew something is lagging .this time I'm trying with deadlifts
Rock on, hard to go wroong with an approach like this
I bath in tahini and that seems to work for now :D
LOL!
See a doctor. If anything, the drugs will make it worse.
On days without social live, I eat just ones a day. Without my (sometimes homemade ice cream) I couldn’t reach my calorie goal.
Love home made ice cream, that's the real stuff right there!
...and here i was, thinking there is a blatant obesity epidemic in the US, yet, you still find people worried about not having a caloric surplus to build muscle, ironically, the dietary advice they get is Butter, Oil, Cheese or Ben & Jerry´s...
I don't understand why the fitness industry count calories, the body doesn't count reps what's makes them think it counts calories?
Good thought, but it does count calories in a sense. The body is aware of the nutrient availability of food (of which calories are part of that) so it's more aware of the energy availability
Did he say put the carb before the horse? :-p
Yea, what, you've never heard that expression before? 😜
Now I get it 😂
You had me until you suggested cheese, oil and butter.
RedDeltaProject I follow your advice and information and received great results doing so. I hope I didn’t say something wrong.
No offense sir, but you remind me so much of Dwight Eisenhower...
LOL!
That's a new one for sure! I take that as quite the compliment.
In a good way ofc haha. Sweet video too! Cheers for the informative content. Keep rocking :)
I asked this... Thanks Matt.
Ask and you shall receive that's the RDP way :)
Amen Anival! Well said my friend.
Your diet is now better. Before it seemed like you were following the normal body build diet
