Update: Recently the stadiums for AFC Asian Cup 2023 Football tournament were announced. Out of the 8 stadiums used for the world cup 6 of them will be used for Asia cup at the same seating capacity no changes etc. Lusail stadium and 974 stadium will. Not be used.

First off, the Romanians moved to the UK of their own accord. There is also an established minimum wage in the UK that is higher than that in Qatar, people over 20 make a minimum of about 6,000 USD working for 2 months full time in the UK. People make around 4,000 USD minimum working for 2 months full time in Qatar. Qatar is certainly very safe for women, and I commend them for that, Qatar is great at keeping homeless low, but you almost entirely avoided my point. It wasn't that Western countries were better or safer, it was pointing out a deep flaw in the Qatari government. The fact is that migrant workers were horribly mistreated and hundreds of them fucking died. Immigrants make up about 93% of your country's work force and your country has been treating them like dog shit on the bottom of their boots. There are around 30,000 workers in Qatar that would qualify as modern slaves, that is a serious fucking issue, and avoiding it to talk about all that Qatar does well simply perpetuates it.

Ok if you are talking about Labour issues and all. Look in the past they made mistakes about labour rights and they openly accepted their mistake and in the past years they have made reforms and all. Which you obviously don't want to talk about. And second of all other countries when they hosted events. For Example : Russia hosted the world cup in 2018 and that same time they occupied Crimea, Donbass and they were bombing Syria as well. Why there was no criticism against Russia or any calls to Boycott etc. Is it because europe wanted Russian Gas that time???
Brazil as well in 2014 they were removing people from the areas to build their stadiums, they treated workers way worse than Qatar, and yet no criticism at all.
Every country makes mistakes. There is no perfect country in this world. Qatar also made mistakes, but we made reforms as well and also ILO international Labour organization even setted up their office in Qatar as well.

normal for big sporting Organisations to host events in other countries or even continents. The NFL is doing it pretty regular, The UFC is doing it all the time (but they are more focused on the global market) and i believe La Liga did it as well. So to think that UEFA could host a UCL final there is not to crazy even tho it's not in Europe.
