Can't ask for more tbh. It's a bloody shame that it's a China only phone. Hopefully it will b available on Gearbest soon. Fingers crossed.

I know that struggle as my tablet had it on the bottom and i had to hold it upside down otherwise the angle would be wierd.

I feel like they get any smaller the phone will be hard to hold without accidental touches when watching videos or playing games. -Genes- I have been using Apple's phone since 5s up to the X. But I got to say, Apple has gotten lazy. I expected more from them. Apple is taking things way to safe and slow.. I rather have new design ever 2 years like when steve job was alive rather than same design for 4 years in the row. If Steve Job was alive, iPhone 7 and 8 wouldn't look the same as today's. Trust me, we might even get the X earlier. What's the point of being ahead in some technology when you don't even release it. Apple even said they are not going to do the finger print sensor ever again.. That mean they will focus on Face ID. But until they could hide the face ID under the screen, there will be a notch, and other phone would catch up on erasing the chin. If Apple could not hide the Face ID up to that point, they will get override. Plus, Apple is probably not going to do the rising camera thing, because they are Apple. Are they going to be able to hide the cameras in a few years? I don't think so my friend. And by that time, most phone on the market would have full screen without notch and chin because they don't have to worry about Face ID and don't mind copying others design like the Vivo's camera design. The only reason why I still use iPhone because of IOS... That I gotta say is one of the best mobile OS out there.

I'm pretty sure that that flashing IR sensor on the top edge of the phone is the proximity sensor that you said was under the display.

That's what I thought as well. The proximity sensor needs an emitter and receiver, and I don't see that as working through the display panel.
Vivo claims on their website the flashing dot you see is the infrared sensor, but other sensors like light and distance sensors are under screen.

Proximity sensor is not under the screen. It is above the screen and your camera actually can see it (violet blinking above display)
