    Chase Field is in downtown Phoenix, right in the heart of the city and pretty much next door to the Suns' arena. The Cardinals play in Glendale. It's not a universal thing, but generally football stadiums will be further out while indoor arenas and baseball stadiums are more often in the city proper--often downtown.

  • @SmokeyJoeWood173

    DFW to Phoenix is a little over one thousand miles. About 16 hours by car, but a reasonable 2-3 hour flight. For a playoff game flying from any city in the US to another isn't all that uncommon, wherever you can get the tickets. But Phoenix has a ton of transplants as well so there's probably quite a few locals who root for the Rangers.

    • @coyotelong4349
      @coyotelong4349 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As a Phoenix-area native I can tell you there are a lot of transplants, but not a whole lot from the Dallas-Ft. Worth area
      There are a lot of Cowboys fans here of course, but lots of them are bandwagoners anyway

    • @ronclark9724
      @ronclark9724 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Unfortunately, World Series games are very difficult to buy the day of any game in another city as the home team most likely sold out before the World Series started. And if you do buy a ticket, you paid a scalper far too much for it...

    It’s relatively close, but it’s over 1000 miles/1600 kilometers apart from the 2 cities. If they’re there from the Arlington area, they didn’t just hop over on a quick drive. I’m sure some people did fly over for the game and some are somewhat local Rangers fans.

    Texas (Dallas) to Phoenix (Arizona) is a 16 hour drive. It is quite far between the two.
    That said Dallas airport is a major hub for American Airlines and likely has direct flights. But to give an idea of how big Texas is Phoenix to El Paso (western most Texas) is around a 7 hour drive. Dallas is almost as far East as Texas goes and is 9.5 hour drive to El Paso.

    That terrible strike call in the 9th was a make up call that never should have happened. 2 pitches earlier, the ump called a ball on a pitch that was a clear strike so he made up for it in the worst possible way

    In regard to their being too many games, I can understand from an outsider looking in why you might think that. Baseball is my favorite sport, and the Cardinals are my favorite team, but I’ll never watch all 162 games or even close to that many.
    But following baseball is a completely different animal from most other sports, back in the day before most people had TVs you would go grab a paper and check the score and check the stats. Thats how I follow baseball, except replace the paper with the MLB app. I’ll maybe watch one game a week and rarely more than that since I have a life.
    And having a game almost everyday can be nice, there’s always some highlights to watch, and there being so many games means you can buy cheap tickets to most regular season games (don’t worry they still overcharge parking, food, and drinks).
    Will every MLB regular season game match the energy of a regular season football game? No, most won’t, but like I said it’s more enjoyable the way I described above, checking in on your favorite team, and watching a game every now and then. Whether that’s in person or on TV.
