Thanks for the video! While I've been on DSB numerous times, this brings back a particularly fond memory from my trip in January 2010 from Kbh to Aarhus (still spelled Århus back then!) on an ICE3. I had flown into Kastrup but stayed a night in Nørrebro, so my trip didn't begin until the next day from Kbh H. Anyway, it was a lovely leisurely ride from early afternoon and by the time I arrived at my final destination (Rønde) it was already dark. Still have friends there I'm in touch with. Been in Europe regularly since then, but just haven't made it back to DK, hope to take care of that in a year or two! 🙂
Sounds like some great memories - We still got the IC3 trains running to Aarhus :D
Thank you for sharing this beautiful & informative video.
To me it is mind blowing to know that a country so small has so advanced train sistems...Here in Brazil we havent trains for peoples transportation, its a shame, cuz Brazil is so big and everything is so far, u have to use car or bus all the time...and it takes much longer than train, double time i guess...
I rlly hope that my country would have a train system like Europe.
It is the difference between a less and a more developed country
@@SupermanGaming1080p No, it's not. Apart from ther fact that Brazil is certainly developped enough to have a good train system, the US, Canada, or Australia for example are highly developped countries too but have only a poor passenger rail service network. India on the other hand, sustains a widely developped network of passenger trains.
Thanks for this video. I'm visiting Aarhus this August. 🤩
Wow awesome video,it’s sound like a bus with a manual transmission, greeting from Montréal in the French province of Québec in Canada 🙂
Thanks Justin! Greetings from Denmark 😊
I find the old IC3 stock most comfortable.
Thanks for your video! I still want to ride one of these IC4 trains, so far - because I mostly traveled Hamburg-Aarhus or Hamburg-Aalborg - I only have the IC3 experience …
Gotta visit fairly soon then, will be retired around 2025-2026
This is what a civilized, modern country looks like!!
si noi avem transcarpatic care consta din aceleasi trenuri
@@lucaciul9522 fascinating 🙄
What does that have to do with anything about this video?
@@hamza9540 get a clue!
@@mariusmatei2946 No idea tell me? I take this train often and 9 out of 10 times its either delayed or cancelled.
Very nice
When ever I visit Denmark nowadays
I feel bad that I can no longer speak Danish
One day i will learn it again 😄
I'm sure it will be easy to pick up again if you try :)!
Thank you
My dad told me the same thing:D
@@the_vehicle_spotter why can you no longer speak Danish?!
I learn to speak Danish and I tried my first train 😅❤🇩🇰
@@mariusmatei2946 long story… but in a nutshell I forgot how to speak Danish in 2017.
Next time visit the model trains at Aarhus Hovedbanegård, its inside the Joe and the Juice (the one at the central station, not in the shopping mall)
Har selv tit taget toget fra kbh til Aarhus, rigtig dejlig tur og de 3 timer går bare hurtigt😁
Did u reserve seat? I wonder do i have to reserve a seat after buy a train ticket
On intercityLyn+ trains it's mandatory but on other trains it's only reccomend
@@Simon-Andersen Thanks for information. I saw on the DSB app that reserving process and prices are optional (between Cph - Odense) Thats why i m asking
Hi, Simon! I am traveling to Aarhus from Munich in December. I understand that you can catch a train from the Copenhagen (Kastrup) airport directly into Aarhus? My concern is that I have a big check-in suitcase, in addition to a smaller carry-on luggage. Will it be hard for me to carry my luggage into the train? Is there an elevator at the airport that I can take from the international arrivals area to the train platform? Is there enough space near the seats to put a big suitcase in? Thank you so much for any info you can share!
Yes, there is normally at least 1 direct train to Aarhus every hour from the Airport. The station is directly under the arrivals hall/terminal 3, just walk straight ahead there are elevators and escelators with a gentle slope. The trains have large racks above the seats and there is also good space between them but in case it wont fit there, each train also has at least one "flex" area where large luggage, bicycles prams etc... can be placed :-) Have a nice trip!
@@Simon-Andersen Thank you so much for the really quick reply! I greatly appreciate it. I love your videos. They are clear and very helpful.
I recommend this train in particular
Hello Simon. Is there any way to go directly Aarhus from Copenhagen airport?
Yes, most of the hourly regular ICL trains from Aarhus H to Copenhagen H (main station) continue directly to the airport afterwards. Also some of Flix and Kombardo busses goes directly between the 2.
Thank you for sharing the beautiful informative video. Could you please tell how did you book the ticket with 129 Kr ? I am planning to travel from Aarhus H to Copenhagen. As you mentioned, I also heard that the price is about 425 Kr.
If you book in advance either on DSBs website or App ayou can get what they called Orange tickets, they are only valid on the specific train but costs way less, there is a limited amount of tickets, so book as early as possible. The 425kr is only if you buy from a ticket machine on the day of travel and is valid on any train
Simon, literally, addressed your question at the end of his video!!
I also went into that ic4
So extremely sad, that the rail companies never learn to dime the bright light on long distance trains during dark day/night times.
You should see my video on denmarks "night train" then! Lights stay on all night :P th-cam.com/video/ced9acaDMxQ/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for the video. Do you think anything has chance on this line since you made the video. I want to take the train between the cities.
Mostly still the same. Trains between Copenhagen and Aarhus are run generally by the older but nicer IC3 trains. If you chose an ICL+ departure you'll get an IC4 like in this video 😊
Thank you, could you help me understand the difference between a DSB Orange ticket and a Standard ticket?
@@run68bone orange ticket is only valid for the selected train, standard is good for any train between the 2 cities that day
god video Simon
Mange tak :)
its would be nightmare if you take that
yes i been for waiting to arrive in copenhagen from odense
Can you use a rejsekort if you go from København h to ringsted
Yes you can use it on all trains domestic trains in denmark.
@ so if I want to go to Aarhus I can use my rejsekort
Hi I am gg on this journey as well. Can i check if seat reservation is required ? What happens if you do not want to buy the seat reservation?
Seat reservation is required on IntercityLynPlus trains, you will be fined if you don't have one. If you don't want a reservation take one of the normal IntercityLyn or Intercity trains 😁
Hello and good evening .. nice meeting you here .. would love a response too.. I'm Alice
Quite a shame that this train is having really bad time right now. I've heard that they might get sold from DSB or scrapped and replaced by electric trains.
PS: At 8:53 I noticed that there's a small platform lift. What was it intended for, since I'm not sure about the seat class in that section.
Yes they will indeed be replaced as electrification gets completed and new trains arrive. Should be from about 2025. At 8:53 It was to be used by the trolly/service wagon to get to and from the low floor section. That area is the standard class / flex area :)
@@Simon-Andersen æ
does this service still run?
Yes! 4 times a day except Saturdays. But it's often the first train that gets removed during trackworks
beautiful romantic place 😍🥰😘 new sub and bell ❤
