I love that every like on this video means 1 more person working to fix their 3000GT's. So that's 181 cars (minimum) you have helped fix on this video alone
Hi I'm Alan from Alabama in the US. Thanks for all of your videos. I'm on my second Mitsubishi. First was a 92 Stealth 25 year's ago. Currently have a 98 3000gt. You have made working on the GT much more fun. Thanks again.
Hi Lachlan. Thanks for the feedback. These are just hobby videos which are done on a budget in my back yard. I don't expect to get any recognition from clubs or other forums because they are not made in a professional way. There is about 200 videos waiting to be uploaded as and when I get the time. Thanks for your support.
@@3000GTGTORestoration hey I jus changed my spark plugs on my 3000gt after putting everything back together it's making a loud ticking noise I'm pretty sure it has some to do with the spark plugs because it wasn't doing it until I changed them
@3000GTGTORestoration I have a question about our cars when I bought mine 5 years ago I remember the car window would go down an inch when opening the door but idk if I remember incorrectly or that they actually have this window indexing feature
Another great video I've been watching them for the last 2 weeks now since I decided to buy a 1993 GT 3000 SL thanks for taking the time to do these amazing videos and sharing them to us for free as you know we need to save all of our money to make these cars great again 😂
It is good to hear from you and good to hear that your car is still running well. It just goes to show that they will run forever if you look after them.
I love your efforts in teaching us how to fix and maintain 3000GT’s! Thank you very much! Gold Wolf from the USA, requests: teach us about 1) AC diagnosis and repair 2) Installing reverse camera with Apple play 3) turbos
Hello Gold wolf. Thank you for watching and I am pleased that you are making use of the videos. I will not be covering a/c because this is a specialist area and in most countries, it is illegal to open the a/c system without a licence. It is also unlikely that I will be covering any mods or upgrades because my channel is about repair and restoration. I will be covering turbo rebuild once I get to the engine section of the videos. Regards. Joe
Hey, Cyrus form New York, Here. Wanted to say, This was really really helpful, Huge fan and also, Happy to hear you in much better help. Wanted to ask about 2 things if you dont mind. The two guides/supports that you removed. Can you refurbish them somehow? And, what's the best way to get the windows aligned again?
Replaced regulator, and greased it properly. It slides perfectly till it get past 1/2 way and it seems to shudder the rest of the way down ?> Otherwise not smoothly
Hi Dalton I am very sorry but I only cover stock restoration work. I find that these cars are very reliable until you start carrying out modifications and then you have one problem after another. Regards Joe
I've been working on my '91 GTO turbo all winter an your videos have helped me out a bunch! I tried contacting you through whatsapp about getting some clear snake eye lenses a while back. I probably did it wrong. Are they available? Cheers from Canada.
Hello Mr Brambleby. I still have a few left. Not sure why you are having problems with WhatsApp. I have a person in the States also having a problem. Try email. It's not mine but they will let me know if there is a message for me. Smann89504@aol.com
question: If I have a 98 3000gt window assembly and I want to replace just the plastic bits and the motor (with the older 91-96 window regulator assembly), would that work?
So my 3000gt has a small rubber covered metal tab that sticks down. The door only seems to seal when I close the door with window slightly down. And then roll it up. Isn’t it supposed to jump up slightly after the door is closed? Like a corvette
Also Matt, no the windows don't move after you have closed the door on these cars, that is unless you have the convertible version, on almost every convertible the windows roll down slightly when the door is open and then close once the door is closed. This is to prevent the door window from catching on the roof if it has not shut properly. But long story short, no the windows do not move when the door is open/closed.
I've just changed the weather stripping along the door but now there is a gap between my window at the top. It looks like the window is being pushed out about 1/8 of a centimeter.
@@3000GTGTORestoration Is there a specific polishing compound you would use? Just worried about the possibility of maybe making the fine scratches worse.
I just buy kits off ebay that have a selection of polishing grades. It is best to speak to the person supplying the kit for advice on this matter. That way, you can return it if it doesn't work.
This man is a god among men. Cause of all his videos I've been able to restore my car

420 subs, nice work joe
Replaced regulator, and greased it properly. It slides perfectly till it get past 1/2 way and it seems to shudder the rest of the way down ?> Otherwise not smoothly
Try removing the weather strip and see if it still happens. It may be the nylon wheels have worn too much.

is it possible to remove glass while door is removed from car, and car is basically in scratch? :(
Yes, but you will need a battery to operate the glass.

It sounds like you have a window alignment issue. I am working on a video that covers window issues and will solve this problem.

Is there a way to fix those scratches on the window?
Fine scratches can be polished out. There are a number of TH-cam videos and the polishing compound is readily available online.
