I lived next door to Maria (who is one of the nicest people I ever met) and I was out front working on a fence when she came running up holding the bloody, in shock pup in her arms screaming for her husband. She had me run up the street to get her other dog who was being held by some very wonderful neighbors so Maria could get her injured pup to the vet. They had this to say about the dogs who attacked, "we knew this was going to happen at some point. They NEVER have control over those dogs." Maria had my roommate serve the defendants papers. He felt sooooo good doing it. I wouldn't have been able to maintain my temper had it been me.
This couple is stupid. They are just mad because their dogs got them in trouble. I have 2 big dogs, a bullmastiff & a lab/bulldog mix. My dogs go out whenever they want. No they do not like fireworks, but on July 4th, we take extra care to keep them away from the noise. People don't realize how much responsibility is involved with owning big dogs. When the Judge ruled, I thought I wasn't going to get to find out what their defence was, and then when they said it right at the end, I thought it was the most ridiculous 'defence' (and I use that word VERY loosely) that Ive ever heard! Which is probably why the Judge didn't even entertain it for one second.!

I actually HATE 😡 dog cases because most people blame the dogs. I have a pitbull (not gonna lie, hes a pit), never goes to dog parks, 2 walks everyday and sometimes some backyard fun. He did get loose once or twice when he was still considered a puppy but that was because he was chasing other dogs off my property (one older lady would just let her dog roam free. This dog was a small terrier type but would chase kids especially on bikes. Dog would also mark his territory like he owned the entire neighborhood so yea my dog chased him. Never saw that dog cross the street again). My dog never attacked, bit or injured any dog. We keep him isolated so he was mainly curious but regardless, I would pay if my dog got loose and attacked another. It's called responsible pet ownership. I hate the silly excuses. Grow up, be responsible.

My German shepherd gets walked twice a day.. he is on a leash... he does bark... he does show signs of aggressive behaviour. If he took to another dog, especially a cute like that.. I would be horrified and accept all costs. Short story... An elderly man was walking his elderly cocker spaniel past my house when I was 8 years old. A man with a Doberman was walking towards the old man and dog... he released the Doberman and commanded it to attack the old spaniel. It ripped it apart as this poor old man cried and was helpless to save his lovely pet. It was traumatic for him and for me... the germ that I owned the Doberman walked off laughing... I see a lot of that bustard in this man today.
