Photovoice, housing and gentrification: Community Webinar March 2023

PhotovoiceWorldwide is happy to present this free community webinar with Josh Lown (PhD candidate, Boston College) to explore photovoice as a tool to investigate hosing and gentrification.
Often the most noticeable impact of gentrification is its visual dimension. The processes of gentrification change the environmental and demographic characteristics of the neighborhood, through the destruction, rehabilitation, and/or building of new housing and businesses.
This community webinar will discuss the use of photovoice to capture the stories and experiences of neighbors living in a currently gentrifying neighborhood.
Using a case study of a photovoice study of the East Boston neighborhood of Boston, MA, we will discuss the potential, implications, and lessons learned from using photovoice as a means of capturing stories of gentrification. There will be a small group exercise and room for audience participation included.
