BYD are just doing good business. I remember run out model end of year sales with many legacy brands on ICE vehicles. I think it is great, especially if it helps a new Customer get into their first affordable new EV. Every day I drive my now 18 months BYD Atto 3, it still feels like I have just picked it up. Wishing you and your family a Happy New Year 2025. Cheers from a town over the mountains who does not want a nuclear power plant built here.
Since BYD have multiple sources of income from batteries to electic busses to trains etc... they can afford to do aggressive discounts to gain more and more market share. I heard BYD owns over 70% of their supply chains so, its obvious they wont be losing as much money as legacy auto-makers doing the same
BYD Thailand saga. Unhappy Buyers made an official complained to the Thailand Consumer tribunal. Tribunal made an investigation into matter. Tribunal found that there was NO CASE against BYD. Their Local Partner's Sales people made "Un true statements to push SALES ". BYD as a form of Good Will gave free Charging Credits to those affected.
EU needs to stop screwing people over. If "our" auto companies can't compete with the chinese guys... tough noogies. Fire some CEO's, reduce the prices, wake the f up. You can thank Ursula btw🤭
It's still kinda expensive, 38k for the BYD dolphin in Australia, and similar for the MG 4, but the MG has better performance. But if you factor in savings in petrol and maintenance on an ICE, you'd recoup like 10k in 10 years. I'm holding out until they get cheaper, or pick up a second hand EV many years later.
My prediction is in 2025 Australia will see some massive discounts at the budget end of the market as a slew of new brands enter the market, Geely, Leapmotor, Aion, Deepal to name a few. MG4 and Ora already temporarily dropped well below $30k albeit for “demo” models, I expect that will become their normal price as the competition hots up and yard stock ages. I almost bought an Ora long range in November for $26990 da (at the same time an MG4 64 was $29990 da) but decided I’d wait to see the launch price of the Aion V next year. Both these cars were mid $40k’s at launch 2 years ago, so buckle up!
It even uses transitory PHEVs to take market share from legacy auto ASAP. You can see that because if BYD would really believe that PHEVs have a long future there would be PHEV BYD buses as well. But there ain't.
With massive govt subsidies, Chinese companies can dump cars, steel, EVs, windmills, solar panels or whatever they target to quash any foreign competition.... it's what they do
yes chinese companies win every sector with subsidies from government. Now the question is, according to your logic, why dont other government do the same ?
This is what is callled economic suicide. Oversaturate the market with subsidies, not getting hard currency because everyone is introducing tarrifs due to wto violation, and you will have a closed car market where no one will innovate. Pure Soviet Union.
Here in Thailand : BYD Sealion 7 starts at 1,249,000THB for the premium version and the Tesla model Y starts at 1,749,000THB (without FSD 249,000THB). That is a massive difference that makes comparing almost ridiculous. That is a 23,000AUD difference.
be great if byd opened car insurance in uk , solar panels on the cars would be awesome. like to see sodium batteries too . dont believe lithium has future
I live in South East Asia. I am planning to buy a BYD EV but the salesman advised me to wait until February 2025, because he said there might be a discount on BYD EVs. Now this channel is saying basically the same thing. I think I would wait until at least the end of January 2025 before getting the EV.
Carsales in china has dipped every year in dec-feb. It's strange for a westener but it has something to do with the chinese new year. Probably will this year to. My guess is that they are trying to fight this dip and hopefully spread out sales?
I think you are one of the Americans who have been deceived by your media. Your media are reporting that VW, Ford, GM, Toyota etc. are exiting China because the Chinese can't afford to buy their cars. What BS!
I believe some Chinese cars have the best battery(s) available equipped. Does the value of that battery and the other features of the car pay for the influence China will receive for your currency. Do you want them to gain that influence 🤔
This is one thing I don't like about BYD. It is discounting too much, which is destroying the resale value of the cars (except if the car owner can use the same car/EV for 20+ years then the 20+ years car's resale value is usually very low).
lol he said byd.. you mean the chinses goverment.... and wasnt byd the firm that yesterday was in your video with some wurk problems? maybe dont promote them every day
China has lots going on, a huge in-house production ability, efficient logistics chain, their own rare earths, relatively cheap housing for their population, free government education, etc etc. And a determination to succeed with a 50 plan, vs the USA's 5 year election cycle and greedy capitalists who don't about long term agendas.

just discovered this channel and can't have enough of it, thank you for your work!
Thank you to all car producers in reducing the prices. Always looking out for lower prices for all produces.
Looks like BYD is going to destroy the legacy automacers sooner than we thought
it is going to destroy Tesla
What BYD wants: Destroy legacy auto makers
What BYD does: Destroy other EV makers
Too bad, other ev cannot compete with gasoline cars.

Are you funded or brainwashed by legacy auto?
Great video! Since I signed up with you, my stress level has been pretty manageable, mostly thanks to the stable returns from Elizzarda.
Always learn a lot from your videos)) But curious why no elizzarda mention? I just started with it and already see results!)

I’ve been enjoying TESLA since 2018 M3LR now a MYLR with 100hp boost! Next is Juniper MYLR in 1 month! Life is Short!
Where do you get those gas prices? Cause only in gasoline I spent 200usd a month easily.
10 years is like 24k saved only in gas.

In Nederland 132.166 New Electric Cars were sold in the year 2024. ❤❤❤🎉

Sam - Are warranties for electric vehicles generally better than for ICE vehicles?
Big YES BYD all the way 👍❤️🇨🇳
I prefer Geely's Zeekr models to BYD's. They look more refined and better engineered.

Wish they would do that in New Zealand
BYD looks Good! TESLA looks Best!
yeah if you are blind tesla does look best.

EV's will continue to get cheaper and better.
last year you're talking high on SAIC and this year on Geely.... we'll see what's next year's flavour
Competition is great for the consumer
I think the list of the 10 largest car manufacturers could end up with a lot of empty space after the first 2 or 3.

BYD is willing to discount as long as the Chinese government is willing to fund them.

Correction: the CCP is increasing the subsidies to BYD.
And government subsidies are bad for consumers? No wonder United Slums are declining every day.
The video is really informative, I’ll definitely subscribe to your channel! What do you think about elizzarda? How profitable is it?
