I saw Poco play in a bar called the "Pines Club" in Anchorage Alaska in 1985. I was 27 and had never heard of them and was having steak and eggs at a table a few feet away from the little stage when they started playing - man so good! I listened to them until about 3 in the morning when they called it a nigght. When they first walked up on the stage I thought "man some old guys still playing" but now I realize they were in thier 40s and quite young as far as things go. A great memory to have!!

While they had some pretty big hits like "Crazy Love" and "Heart of the Night", and are considered one of the founders of the Southern California country rock sound that the Eagles played off of, they have not even been nominated (let alone elected) to the R&R HOF. That, to me, is being underrated.@@kevinjoseph517

This came out when I was a senior in high school in Tennessee. Man, did we ever listen to Poco a LOT, and I particularly loved this song. Hadn't heard it in years and I still love it. So much great music from that time didn't make it into the "canon" of classic rock, but if you flipped through a box of our albums and looked for the worn ones, this is one of them.

I had the opportunity to meet the later lineup: Rusty, Paul, Jack, George Lawrence. They were all so nice, and their voices up close (very small venue) were amazing. I was devastated when my husband told me about Rusty. He was so talented, underrated. We also at different shows met Richie and Jim Messina.

During the time this was happening a lot of top notch musicians were living here in Colorado; Steven Stills, Joe Walsh, Dan Fogelberg, Carl WilsonOften in or in the mountains above Boulder. Often near Nederland where the Caribou recording studio was then. It had an effect on them. Colorado will do that.

Miming, unfortunately, but a tricky song to do live. Not my sort of thing at all, but always loved this piece of class.

Great song. Must have done this one when I saw them at SUNY Binghamton in '73 or '74.

Actually, no. "Rose" was released in '76. But this is the Poco you saw in '73 or '74, minus Al Garth. And they were great.
