    In my opinion this is the most beautiful car Chevrolet ever built. Dad brought Mom and I home from the hospital in a 1966 Impala SS427. It has the 435 horse 427 with a Muncie 4 speed and is turquoise with a white interior. On Sep 3, 2017 I drove Dad's urn to his final resting place in the same car. We scattered his ashes into a valley on the Clackamas River outside of Portland, Oregon. Then I parked it in my garage. I take it out now and then and beat the snot out of these kids with their import tuners then but it back away in tender loving care. I have a vial of Dad's ashes in the glove box so he is always with me when we go out to terrorize unsuspecting rice burners! It is by far my most prized possession!

      My first car was a 1972 Chevy Impala, I was with my grandparents when they bought it brand new in 1972 I still remember driving home in the front seat with the customary plastic garbage bag hanging from the cigarette lighter fast forward 15 years and it became mine😁 and 210,000 miles on it when I first drove it in 1986

    Color tip for the panel lines..
    panel lines give a shadow of the body color, so better to mix light or dark grey panel line paint with a little thinned body color. Then you give the panel lines realistic grey body color tone .
    Love youre videos, keep them coming...

    I’m American, so I appreciate when you do hot rods like the impala & chevelle, so thanks. I do say I also appreciate the diversity of your builds. I just started building outside my normal builds. I’ve done planes, hot rods, tamiya race cars and street cars. Just got a gundam kit to do a special build. Thanks.👍👍

    Your Impala body came out beautiful. Very nice work. I must agree , the box art on this issue is gorgeous. You are correct in stating that the tooling is 24 years old. However the 1st issue of this tooling was a 65 Impala SS not a 66. The 66 version of this kit was 1st issued in 2010. Have fun with the kit. I look forward to part 2.

    Really happy you are doing this kit, definite vote from me for more US cars when you feel like it even though I'm in the UK!.
    I built the sister kit to this the 65 in the late 90s and it was one of the first kits that actually came out half decent lol!.
    It's a great kit with no issues.

    I love the Impala great lowrider car. A quick question; as you are waiting between coats do you empty the airbrush of clear coat and clean the nozzle ready for the next coat?

    • @InternationalScaleModeller
      @InternationalScaleModeller  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No I just leave it in there, pop a medicine cup over the top to stop crap landing in there, do a test spray and away I go, thanks for watching - Paul :)

  • @nilshansen2370
    @nilshansen2370 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just a stupid question; I like the final "wetcoat" You give the model, as it is a show car, and also to protect the decals, BUT should the accent lining not have been done after the clear coat. Now the black lines will be glossy instead of matte ? Awesome build, by the way, looks very nice.

    • @InternationalScaleModeller
      @InternationalScaleModeller  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Personal choice to be honest, any real car thats taken care of will have a dressing to the rubber making it looks satin or gloss :), thanks for watching - Paul :)

    Crisps and beer don’t mix well with painting unless you wash the plastic. What is the white cap tamiya bottle?
    Great build so far. I have been thinking about trying to do a Foose fade on a pickup truck model I have but I’m not to sure of myself doing it.

    Great video Paul, that colour really suits the car. A question on your airbrushing technique, do you spray at a right angle to the model or at an angle so tnat some of the paint\clear sprays past the model? Cheers Philip

    • @InternationalScaleModeller
      @InternationalScaleModeller  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok so I should spray at a right angle but to catch everything on camera properly I spray at a slight angle, it doesn't seem to have any negative effect to the finish though, thanks for watching - Paul :)

    Paul what kind of glue do you use for mocking up assemblies? And do you just use lacquer thinner to clean that airbrush used for 2K? That color is perfect.

    • @InternationalScaleModeller
