  • As the title says, this lock has a lot of features and a lot of ways to unlock it. I really do like this lock and the modern tech it has.

    Nice but Dave still wants one with a keyhole not a knob on back so we are stuck with the one we have

      I have been unable to find a smart deadbolt without the knob and just a key hole. Not sure if they will make one.

      @cooking with sherry - I haven’t seen any that have a keyhole in the back but if your reasoning is so that someone can’t easily break glass in the door and turn the knob, then I suggest you look at the brands August, Level Bolt, and Geek Smart. I didn’t research them much but it looks like there is no knob or keyhole on the inside part, which may accomplish the same goal. And some of the August & Level Bolt locks work with your existing lock, so that may be what you’re looking for. Good luck!

    Jake thanks for the review it was very helpful, this is a strong choice for me to get as a first time smart lock, but I have a question for you, do u have to also purchase the Gateway WiFi when getting this lock or could you just run the lock through an Alexa?? Thank you 🙏🏻 in advance!!

    • @Jakereviewsall
      @Jakereviewsall  ปีที่แล้ว

      You just need to connect it to your wifi network and then connect the Alexa skill

    This was a great, thorough review, Jake! Thank you. Do you know if you can keep it unlocked for a period of time?
    It seems like a great smart lock with lots of features. Btw, I agree that the USB charging capability is a nice feature; I think that and especially being able to use a traditional key are really important in the event of malfunction or dead batteries.

      Mine remained unlocked, I skimmed the manual just now but did not notice a setting anything about auto locking. I had a door knob before I moved that was always locked after the first unlocked turn, was a pain at times. Since I already have it in hand, if you want to see the manual here is a link for it, I am going to add the link to the video info as well.

      @@Jakereviewsall thanks so much for your feedback and linking the manual! After searching thru the Q&A in the listing, I saw that you can leave it unlocked or set it to automatically lock after a certain amount of time (under Settings > Auto Lock). It doesn’t go into detail in the manual but just says “Auto Lock” on pg 22. That other lock you had must’ve been so annoying to always auto lock, lol. I also found out that the 2 products I mentioned above are the same, just from diff sellers. I’ll delete that part of my comment to not confuse anyone.
      I went ahead and ordered it last night, just in time for a lightning deal. I’m so sorry, I meant to order it thru your affiliate link but forgot. However, I will be sure to give your link to anyone who asks me for info to buy one. Would I give the 1st link that lands on the listing? Or the 3rd link that lands on your product recommendations? I ended up ordering the silver one. I’m sure if someone clicks your link then finds the silver one, the cookie will stay on their browser but you may want to also link the silver one, for viewers who don’t realize it comes that color.

      @@blue-calla Cool info and good to know, this was one of the locks I decided to keep and I will use it once I can hopefully buy a house next year, we will see how that one goes haha....
      Thanks for offering to help with the link, yes the cookie would still work if its within the same category and within 24 hours and as long as they did not click someone else's after. So if someone clicks the link for the lock but buys a TV instead then I get $0 but if they buy a different lock then I will earn on that lock chosen whatever percent they give me on those.
      The auto lock was a bit annoying, eventually I removed it since if there was ever an emergency and my daughters couldn't get into my room.... it was also code only so no fingerprint or anything quick.

      @@Jakereviewsall you’re welcome. I never thought I’d get excited about a door lock, lol, but I can’t wait to get it! I like how it offers so many ways to unlock, espec the fingerprint. Hopefully you’re able to buy a house next year and get some use out of this lock, haha. It’s a good thing you removed that other lock - that sounds really dangerous!
      Good to know about the cookie. I’m familiar with search engine cookies but always wondered about Amzn’s. I’m the tech geek among my family and friends - if you couldn’t tell. 😉 There’s nothing else on my shopping list now but I’ll keep you in mind the next time I want to buy tech goods. Nice chatting with ya!

    Can the 1 app control multiple locks like if a person has multiple short term rentals

    • @Jakereviewsall
      @Jakereviewsall  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I never had more than one sent to test that nor do I remember seeing anything that stated anything about it but I would assume it would since you need that app for each one of them and you can name the device. I could not find the answer on their Q&A.

    What happens when your finger print fails too many times and/or passcode? Is the physical key the only way in?

    • @Jakereviewsall
      @Jakereviewsall  ปีที่แล้ว

      I failed quite a few times in testing and nothing, if I remember correctly there is actually a setting inside the app where you can enable a lockout or it requires the pin.

      @@Jakereviewsall interesting. I set it all up and failed to see what would happen. After 5 or so attempts it locked me out and wouldn’t even let me put in the admin passcode. And I left the keys inside. Luckily I had a sledge hammer. Kidding. Ended up using another entrance to open the door.
