Blaster's ME-50 is actually an upgrade haha. I remembered Blaster using the immortal zoom G1 paired with joyo overdrive on their gigs and even in Bulaga during their IVOS days and still sounded crazily good XD.. nice review for the bad monkey! I hope you also review those entry level pedals like Kokko, Joyo, etc, as I think some of them sounds really good like the Kokko dist which I use now to replace my Boss Dist. Thanks for being an inspiration and a teacher for us musicians! Keep it up! Padayon!

I 1st learn guitar when i was in 6th grade and shifted to drums on my sophomore year. 30yrs later, i found this channel and started going back to guitars. Slowly learning back scales. Salamat sir Pax! 🙌

It's all about YOUR sound. Regardless kung ano yung kayang i emulate nung pedal. If kaya niya manggaya ng tunog ng isang mamahalin, or in this case, hyped gadget, eh di wow. But for the most part, as a player, mas important pa din ang tunog na sarili mo eh. Nice one Pax!. . .keep it up, stay safe, God Bless

And that's what I always say. May kabanda ako dati na sobrang obsessed makuha yung tone and effects ng idol niya. Nothing wrong with that. Pero mas dapat lang mag focus sa playing. May kilala din ako kahit anong ipagamit mong guitar/pedal/amp sa kanya, ang galing talaga. Ako natuto na akong makuntento sa kung ano meron akong gamit. Or save up and upgrade. Yun naman kinaganda sa music always evolving. Thanks Pax.

Actually Kuya Pax this review made me realize na Ok na hype si Bad monkey kasi naicompare siya sa isang mamahaling pedal , I try my Ts Mini and nagawa ko yang mga ganyang tone Salamat no need makisabay sa hype this video made me realize na you will build your own tone kahit anong pedal payan although my difference pero malapit

In one of Blaster's recent gig with his current band: Blaster and The Celestial Klowns, He used a Boss ME-80 multi-fx pedal. I was surprised with the tone he was able to make with such gear. He really inspired me to have fun with what I have, and to stop being too much of a gear snob

di naman sa mali yung comparison ng jhs. i think mali lang yung the way people took it. point lang naman ni jhs is you can definitely get decent tones with pedals you probably already have. I don't think it was a comparison for the sake of comparison. I think it was more of kind of a gentle clapback against tone snobs who look down on cheap pedals. I think it was more of the fun of soliciting a reaction out of the tone snobs.
There is no suprise that the ts9 and klon settings sound somewhat similar beacuse the klon is born within the schematics of the ts9 with a twist🙂

Agree with you, may mali sa Hype. I tried various drive pedals, last one was TS mini, but now I am using the Apax Overdoser which is good enough for me. In my opinion, yung drive ng Marshall amp is the best. Mine is a Park by Marshall G30R. Thanks!

Actually i noticed that the sound barely changes as i watched the JHS review of the bad monkey. I said to myself, somethings too good to be true.

Well oks naman talaga yang bad monkey, i regret selling mine mga around 2010's , dahil need ko lang talaga makabili ng g1x para sa dating rehearsal studio namin. And that time using Dan electro cool Cat transparent OD, (isa pang awesome budget pedal at time, timmy clone anyone?) together with my TS clone made by fellow philmusic forumer. Ang gusto ko talaga dyan sa bad monkey, eh can do medium gain, pair with humber pickups, at very useful ang bass+treble knobs versus tone knob.

truth! .. nasa tenga naman natin musikero ang ilalabas na tunog at dpende rin sa kayang ilabas ng fx. kahit mura pa yan kung

Lahat ng sinabi on point. I own this pedal pero neutral lang ako sa pagka hype nya. Kung san ka masaya, dun ka. Hehe. Daming clone pedals na very affordable and mas madali i buy and sell pag di mo trip in the end.
ilang dekada ko din ginamit ang bad monkey. magandang pedal yan considering the price at very versatile.
pero hanggang the best pedal for the price lang ang hype dapat. hindi holy grail yan.
plus ng bm yung bass knob. pero may tone suck pag naka off.
mas warm natural at amp like pa din ang ts9.
Sa dami ng pedals sa market ngayon, ang dami mo nang options na pwede kunin na tig-isa na di kailangan gawin ng iisang pedal lang. Nakakagulat lang kasi dati pag gusto mo ng Klon, 20k na gagastusin mo (around 20 years ago) tapos TS808 pahirapan pa maghanap. Ngayon may budget and boutique options pa.
As for the Bad Monkey, ayos sya for boosting, pero di ko masabing palaban sa mga pedals na supposed na dapat nya iemulate.

Tama ka sir. Wala tlga sa gear yan. Nasa gumagamit tlga yan. Ako nga sir nagtry ako ng budget guitar effects ung cuvave cube baby and na satisfy nmn ako kahit napakamura nya pero maraming pwedeng gawing tunog.
It just goes to show na maraming guitarist ang sumasakay sa hypetrain imbes na gamitin ang tenga sa pag hanap ng ideal sounds. Bad monkey has been around for a long time and yet walang pumapansin kasi jologs at luma na ang kaha. Dun mo makita na maraming mas pinipili yung fancy external look ng pedal kesa sa sound itself.

Ako ihhype ko yung mosky black rat kya nya low gain, classic rock, modern rock at fuzz tones. Binebenta ko na yung low gain at MIAB pedal ko dahil dito. Haha

Mga 2011 may nag offer sa akin ng bad monkey mura. Di ko binili, I trusted my taste at ears until now yun ang basis ko when buying pedals. Plus, any pedal will sound good sa kamay ng gitaristang pinagtuonan ang skill kesa gears.
Na Test mo ba sa BASS or Sa KEYS
Digitech for me is quite decent pedal efx.
at the end of the day, dapat marealize ng lahat na magkaiba yung taong nagbebenta ng 30k na pedal dahil sa hype sa taong bumibili ng 30k na pedal dahil sa hype. hehe. kahit taasan nila ng presyo yan, kung wala namang bibili, babalik at babalik yan sa dating presyo.
I’ve been building diy pedals for around 10 yrs. Malayo ang tunog ng bad monkey sa Klon .
3.5k ko lang nabili yung ganyan ko. hanggang ngayon nasakin pa. pinang gig ko na ng matindi. pwede ko na ba benta ng 30k to?
I also have the odr 1. thing is kaya nung BM mag tunog odr1 at a certain setting on each pedal but maraming settings ang odr1 na hindi kaya gawin ng BM. yun rin kasi yung point na nakakalimutan ng tao. sure, kaya ng isang pedal maging katunog ng ibang pedal AT A CERTAIN SETTING but that doesn't mean na that's they way you are going to use that pedal.

Noon pa ng hype yang bad monkey unang labas pa lang nagkakaubusan na sa Audiophile nyan kasi nga pang sub nga daw sa TS9 which is around 6k na noon while 2,490 si Bad monkey. Syempre as a product specialist we tried and compared. Hindi talaga eh. May sarap na lapot yung ts9 kesa kay BM. Kaya ngayon nagulat ako kasi biglang hype na naman. Wala nakakatawa lang... 😅
