Amy, just got a job at a grooming salon and I'm learning how to groom. Bought your scissors set as a thank you for your you tube videos. Thank you. I'm learning so much.
You are amazing, i got my first job as a groomer last month in the UK but have been watching your videos for a year. I would love to end up in USA working as a dog groomer, the grooming culture is so big over there , so much to learn!!
I just graduated from grooming school. I love this video!!! The place that trained me doesn’t have the harness and safety gear and Iv wanted to understand how they work. Also, the tip about moving your thumb but keeping the rest of your hand still was never taught to me! Thank you for doing this video:)
@@eval7952 Not trying to hijack the conversation but im currently in school. I did QCPetstudies and had to quit...they were awful DO NOT go with them. Now I'm at Paragon and they are great. Knowledgeable, communicative, so much material to learn from. Paragon costs alot but definetly worth the money. ^^
@@eval7952 yes I got trained at a fast paced salon. It was great but I feel like I had to do a lot of my own research and watch many different groomers online to see many different ways of doing things. Iv learned so many tips and tricks from watching other groomers and I write everything down in a book lol. Better harnesses, shampoos, better methods of doing things. You tube has really helped me a lot round out my training. No one at my salon new what a 5 in 1 blade was lol. I use it all the time, especially on clean poodle feet. I didn’t go to a community college I found a salon that had an academy. Iv gotten lots of experience with dogs on the table.
training for dog grooming is very basic, because there are so many variables, when I did mine, nearly every dog I had to work on was wild, when I got on the road myself, it was alot easier, but they teach you the basics, the rest is up to you to work out, Go Groomer has been through it all, and there's stuff I've learnt that's invaluable. belly straps and such don't always work, sometimes you can't do the quality job you want, but you can do the best you can for the dog. Go Groomer and man's best friend are my favourite online learning tools, alot of my clients are heavily mattlocked toy breeds from farms, and I love it, cause I feel I'm really helping these dogs out.
Im just amazed at your talent. I watch your videos so I can try and learn. I know I need to get some good quiet clippers. I do hair (cosmo) and grooming is 100% different. I want to learn how to groom out shiu tzu. Ive been, doing our Yorkie. Its just gotten so expensive. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and know how😇
Loving your channel!❤ do you have a complete grooming video for a border collie? I have a 10 month old boy that has grown into a beautiful long “rough “ coat ( blue Merle) and I have being looking for a groomer but all I can find are for small breeds 😢 so I want to do this myself…thank you 😊
Hi! I love watching your vids! I just got my first pair of Kenchii shears and clippers ! I was going to order your set, but it was all SOLD OUT! I just made a video and included a short clip from your video . ❤
Love your videos☺️ I’m going to be adopting a chihuahua puppy soon, I was wondering if you could make a “How to groom a chihuahua” video. It would help me soo much🤩😊
Hi I followed the links for the grooming arm and anchor but the links don’t look like yours. How do the ones you linked work? Are there different links for the ones you use or should I just look around more?
Question, in the video you recommend the deshedding shampoo to use, but you put regular shampoo on the dog. So in this process do you use regular shampoo and conditioner or deshedding shampoo? Thank you i think this will help with our english bulldog
Thank you Amy for the great tips!. Question? Do you have a video showing how to trim a very curly bone tail?, the hair is not curly, just the bone and it is hard trying to make it straight to be able to trim the trim the straight hair, I hope you understood my question 😬. 🙏🌺💙
Do you have tips for grooming a dog who does is not comfortable standing for any length of time? Our dog is 18 months, a Mini Schnauzer, with Congenital Myotonia. I try to do most of it on the couch with him lying down.
Watch this video, but really focus on what my other hand is doing throughout this whole groom. Your other hand is what will constantly be the reminder and will assist your dog to stand when you need them to stand. This is a great learning lesson to watch the other hand in my videos, not the hand operating the tools. th-cam.com/video/nRgDUFnZp54/w-d-xo.html
Hello, I just found your channel. I noticed you have some older videos, two or three years old, about Raw feeding. Do you still feed RAW? Have you made any changes to what you were doing before? Just wondering if you could maybe do an update video. Thank you.
Hi Amy,I was wondering if you had a link for the harness? I have the first one you showed but im so scared of my Angels trachea being damaged because one she's a yorkie and another she yanks around alot.I place it properly but it manages to get worked back down to that area so im wanting to try the harness and I think I may be searching it wrong because it isn't showing up on amazon for me
I have 8 very small dogs that I want to groom at home. Will the Kenchi Flash or Flash 5 work for all my grooming needs or do I need to invest in a Wall clipper. I really like the convenience of Cordless but also the smaller size. Thanks. Love your videos.
@@candytroutman6977 yes, kenchii flash 5 and matching stainless steal guard comes will be great as long as you properly prepare the coat before clipping.
Yes of course. I’m brush all dogs in my salon with the slicker brush and they don’t mind it. You’re brushing techniques have everything to do with it.💕
The grooming arm and harness wasn’t a necessity for me and my 2 small size dogs. I started using it at first but then I noticed my dogs didn’t need it. I do wish they made a lighter table. If I was to do someone else’s dog I would probably use the arm. (Most tables comes w it anyways)
