I believe the fishing rod extension for the ds used to be a standalone toy a while back. It played like a pokemon game without the whole rpg aspect, you'd have random encounters and would have to try catch the monsters.
You were right about the Wii sensor bar. It is infrared. The sensor bar itself is actually just an array of infra red LED's.There's no data sent to and from the sensor bar. It's just there so the Wii remote can track it's position. All the data transfer is done from the remote itself to the console. That's why those wireless / battery powered sensor bars still work without being connected to the Wii by a cable.
For Seiko watch - Thumb Up mate ! I am using Seiko watches for almost 24 years, Automatic, Quartz, and Grand Seiko too - they are absolutely brilliant. I am extremely happy for You Eliot. Have grate experience with Your piece of art. "I can see I am dealing with a gentlemen, a Man of honour. "
I can absolutely appreciate your fondness for the watch. I’ve got the same love for Fossil watches, been wearing them since I was 13 in the summer of 2000. Value and appreciate a watches that last for many years and that look/feel/are quality and amazing. Happy for you 👍
I think if it had been a gold case watch it would have been quite stricking with those colors , I understand the price would have tripled as well if it was a gold case watch but still.
"Original Nintendo Charger, no use to me." My brain had a little trouble comprehending this until I remembered a lot of Europe has that weird 240 volt standard in their outlets.
Elliot...as a watch repairer and retro gamer..i had to research the exact model..SPB147j1 200m automatic..retail 1050Euros..or 900 pounds in stock..so at 800 dollars a nice discount..also still have the Wii board i offered on the Spiderman postcard last year..you now have a black Japan version..great pickups and look forward to the coming videos
Yes, the Columbus Circle PC Engine LCD is VERY new. Just landed late last year. Anyway, what you really need for that is the UperGrafx UGX-02, which gives you true digital HDMI (never analog) and can play PC Engine HuCard and CD-ROM² games from the SD card. :) The Columbus Circle LCD uses the same scaler chip as Wii2HDMI, RAD2X cables, or the line of RetroTink 2x products. I assume it sources composite video because it doesn't support RGBS without first converting to YPbPr Component (some RetroTink 2X products do this). Regardless, it takes analog and converts it to digital instead of generating DVI/HDMI off of the digital video bus. UperGrafx gets digital video by using an FPGA to replicate the function of the Video Color Encoder chip. The original VCE is also the system's DAC (Digital to Analog Converter), which means it obviously has digital video inside. When you clone the chip in FPGA you can obviously take that digital video, skip the DAC, and pipe it to a DVI/HDMI transmitter instead. ;)
That 62 MAS re-issue is nice! Money well spent, imo. I'm just getting familiar with your channel, so learning that you are also a big Seiko fan is awesome!
I paid $30 each for two Famicom edition Game Boy micros at Circuit City and sent one to my nephew. Still have mine even though I already had a launch unit and never really played it. Kinda wish I'd kept it in the box. I did keep the box, receipt, etc and left the original charger untouched.
Samsung uses the Dome shape for their smart watches. The Galaxy Series, Gear S series... I have a Galaxy watch 1 and it rotates. Love the dome look. Garmin also uses the same design I believe
3:00 It's infrared, but it's not a receiver, it's a transmitter. The Wiimote has an IR camera that sees the light the sensor bar puts out and that's how it knows where the center of the TV roughly is (since you're supposed to center it underneath/above your TV),
the gameboy pikachu thing is a tamagochi, i had one, lol. you walk alot and it generates candy to feed it and make it happy. forgot to take it out of my pants and it survived the washing machine >< haha. over 18 years ago, rip.
I do! First of all you'll need a good screwdriver set, something with a good variety. If you're planning on fixing retro consoles and whatnot, then you'll need some tri-wing bits. One of the most important tools is a soldering iron, it's a good idea to steer away from the $20 ones, one of the best brands is weller, you'll find good ones there. It's a really good idea to get some broken electronics and stuff to experiment with and learn the basics of electronics. Watch lots of videos, it helps. You're going to also need solder, a little research will help you figure out what type. That's the bare minimum that you'll need. Maybe also get some cleaning supplies like polish and 99% isopropyl alcohol, that alcohol is your best tool. Good luck, and happy fixings!
If you have to go a bit cheaper on a soldering iron at the very least get one where you can change the temperature. They will always be a bit more expensive than the very basic ones but different solder needs different heat and it will just cause you much less frustration.
That is a lovely watch Elliot. I love my Seikos too, I have an orange Seiko Monster and the first gen Seiko Astron SAST005 - it's absolutely huge but I love it.
I had one of those pocket pikachus back in the 00s. Lots of memories right there. Thanks for introducing me to sendico, used it for the 1st to order a valentines gift for my wife 🥰
Anyone else think it'd be cool for Elliott to do a window shopping video, going on Yahoo auctions and looking for cool stuff - get some live reactions on things and give advice on how to find the best stuff?
this is great stuff you bought! I completly fotgot that there were/are for the first Gen Pokémon games these packs too, like for the 2nd Gen Games. Need to get them :D
Nice SPB147 eliot! man i wish i have the funds for that watch as well. been collecting watches for quite a while now mainly seikos. love retro games as well. i love retro in general. try looking for a seiko bellmatic. they're a treat to have on your collection. Hope you get a genuine vintage 62mas in the future. much love from the Philippines! keep it up man!
I think the only retro watch I'd love to own is the one used in MGSV. Otherwise I'm fine with my Samsung digital one.. But I do appreciate a nice watch, either way.. Way to go Elliot!
9:07 They sold the Famicom edition Gameboy Micros internationally, or at least in the US as well. I wish I could go back in time and stop younger me from trading all my nintendo stuff into gamestop.
Nice 62MAS! I’m really enjoying the watch content. :-) Although one little quibble: sapphire crystals are still very much used nowadays. Mostly by higher-end watch companies. Stuff like Omega, Rolex, Tag Heuer, etc. Basically if it’s modern Swiss-made it’s probably gonna have sapphire. Seiko normally uses a mineral glass they call “Hardlex,” but sometimes will use sapphire on their nicer watches. :-)
I have one of those Ice Blue gameboy colors, but it is missing the battery cover. If you ever come across one of those I'll gladly buy one from you. I also have a famicom GB micro I got from a local person for $40!
Those PCE LCD Monitors are similar to ones from the 90s but they use high quality RGB iirc. They are pretty awesome, only sucks cuz you cant use anything else in the expansion port like the CD addons or the SSDS3.
I feel if Elliot had unlimited money he'd buy everything off Sendico.
I feel you're correct

Nah dude there's always people who have only seen 1 or 2 videos of his

I didn't now what Sendico is, until I saw this video.
