The weather at Haulover Inlet this weekend is pretty rough. Only a few dare to go out. Would you risk taking your boat out while the storm is hitting the inlet?
I'm not sure I'd risk coming back in the inlet if conditions like this came up suddenly. I'd never take one out in this. I'd prefer to stand on the jetty with a bullhorn and give free advice on parenting to some of these fools.
Nope… and especially not with kids or pets! Also, I noticed in these videos that the police boats usually only have one officer on board. Seems strange… you would think that if the boat is sent to attend an incident that you need someone on the helm at all times so what is he going to do???
There's a huge waist-deep sandbar just around the corner on the inland side. Hundreds of people hang out there and party. Most of the family boats have been there and Dad's been fighting off dehydration so he decides to give the kids a little thrill by popping out for a minute into the scary water. Clueless people who think a boat's like a car.
02.33 The little boy holding the puppy kept shouting at his dad when he went over a big wave. Dad took the hint turned around and headed for calmer waters. He had the right idea, why risk your family especially when no one was wearing a buoyancy aid.
Í´m following this channel for quite some time. the sound of the waves is chilling and watching others mastering (more or less) the waves is both entertaining as well as educational. I always think about „what would I have done with my 5.6m Sportsboat.“
Thank you for following our content. Definitely, the videos have helped the community gain experience in different scenarios. I'm glad you've learned by watching them.
Being a bit of a boatie myself and having worked on a trawler, it would take me 5 minutes of looking at the water in and beyond the inlet to tell me, 'Nup, not going outside today. Too windy. Too choppy and there's a good size swell to make things uncomfortable'
Yeah. This baffles me in all these videos. Child or adult, the risk is high. Wear a PFD, even adults in inflatable one would be better. I sail, which is a bit different (more moving parts) and always wear a PFD. But kids??? Put them in a PFD.
I like that guy at 1:45. Don't let the waves behind you over take you. Don't overtake the ones in front of you. #:22 good captain. At 10:45..... I'm cool. I'm coming into port with my riggers out. Notice the police pilot's training?
0:54 parents take their children out in these treacherous waters. The kids don't appear to be enjoying themselves. They are wearing PFDs but the parents *aren't.* In a rollover situation, the parents would be of no help to those kids...excuse me "future orphans." I didn't know Florida people were exempt from wearing PFDs.
Open bow boats are so dangerous in rough conditions, they're the ones you always see getting swamped , stuff the bow and you are done. You have to know what you are doing
I still don't understand why an oversized console boat needs 5 outboards (that midnight express) totaling 2000hp when that cigarette boat that came after is probably faster, with less hp...
Those guys in the little yellow Sea pro center console I thought were in trouble looking for a spot to turn around, and then he pulls out of rod and starts fishing!!!
@@BoatZone Understood but I think the issue is that you are trying to get close up of the boats all the time and thus are zoomed in so far that vibrations from wind are exaggerated and make it very shaky. Also the boat (subject) needs to be seen in context with its surroundings - so ideally the boat should take up aroundd 50% of the screen real estate with the occasional close up if that's what the boat owners want to buy. Just my 2c.
Deep Vee hulls are not designed for this kind of water. It's like driving a racing car on a dirt road. So much energy is wasted each time the boat is stopped in it's tracks. Yet most of the boats seen at hulover are pathetically of poor design.
Hey parents, children don't think it's funny to almost drown in a bowrider. Getting splashed with water at a theme park is one thing, in the rough ocean with no PFD is another.
2:34 _Shared Dream_ boat. Only one of three kids has a PFD and the oldest kid is screaming something of terror to the testosterone laiden, idiot father who finally gets the message to stop terrifying the kids and dog.

To answer your question, NO! But I would gladly encourage my ex to borrow my boat and take it for a spin...
@@jamesp13152 I can smell your intentions from here haha
Nobody in their right mind would go out in that, not in a pleasure boat anyways.

Wow, that Riva 76 didn't seem too concerned with any of the rough water. Great video.
When i saw the kids in front of the boat with the small dog, what the hell is the father thinking?
Yes & I didn't see any life vests on the kids!
He isn't thinking
Need to have a brain to actually be able to form a thought.

Nothing like the sound of terrified children. It breaks my heart because I protect my children. I can’t relate to this guy.

"where's my next beer & vicadin?"
The boat with the fishing lure flying about...
The amount of people not wearing life vests is very concerning, especially in rough waters.

Yeah, FL had a bit of a storm over the weekend!
Nice waves !

Guy in that Key West knows how to run an inlet.
Agree
Most of the people in these boat are from MExico and don't understand the weather reports, which are in English.

Same guys probably don't wear set belts either. Some of the boats are fit for lakes only.
That Freeman was a Boss!!!
Is there a speed limit, in the channel?
I suppose if you want to find out what your boat and you can withstand it's worth a try. Not something I'd try with my family on board.
Is there a law against PFD's? Kids w/o them, should be a criminal offence.
It appears to be a good bilge pump test day.

It is good to see that everybody is wearing a lifevest, even which such calm seas
Yes right?
lol.... For our colonial cousins across the pond the comment is sarcasm at its finest.....
Loving the sarcasm here in the UK. I would suggest that we're past masters of it ourselves. But thanks for the heads up. My best wishes to you.

I don't think the company that built it or the guy that bought it really cares if you understand or or not.
well ya see its Fl. the land of narcissistic pencil dick insecure assholes so,,, they blow $ to feel good!
1:35 without a doubt-Australian
ROBALO = smart move. Not an ocean day for the LAKE BOATS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why can't fines be issued for children not wearing life preservers/floatation jackets or aren't children at risk important enough ???
What does "founded" mean?
Like when the company started operating
@@AstonVantage8 That's what I thought. Thanks.

Why do you call them captains? Captain implies a degree of expertise. Call them boaters.
Little Robalo could have mastered those waves EASILY. The captain caused that!
👍👍
Hi!
At 6:50 ! I hope there is not a hook on that lure ! Just flopping around doing it job trying to hook something . Oops.
By catch , going back to ER :)
Crickey mate. Oh no! Don’t loose too much sleep over it
Not up to your normal video quality - did you forget to switch on image stabilization? Makes me almost as queasy as some of those passengers.
The majority of these clips were filmed in the rain and in winds ranging between 25 and 30 knots. It's not a regular filming day

Not many youngsters wearing life jackets 😮😮
where the hell are the life jackets! Mandatory in New Zealand
Well, no offense, but you Kiwis have gotten awfully “nanny state”

Just one question… why?!
Because they can knucklehead

No one wearing life jackets, not even the kids.

Any Ray Hunt deep V hill can most definitely handle chop like that. In fact many Bertram’s do on a regular basis.

95% of the weather is not whats categorized as storms , just wondering why , is it just clicbait
A storm is rated 11 on the Beaufort scale. I doubt many of the amateurs would get to the marina in those conditions. This is at best 'a bit choppy'.
P f d On kids or a ticket
It's amazing the number of clueless captain wannabes that are out there.
