I’ve run 40-60’ boats for almost 50 years in Florida. Charters mostly. Some stuffings on this channel are scary and the captain is at fault. However, I don’t care how much experience a captain has, at haulover, everyone will eventually sling green water over the bridge. It can get really wet.
I go boating on the Southern Ocean on the south coast of Western Australia. We have some very rough seas down here. Going through haulover looks pretty bad. I think centre consoles are a poor choice for rough water power boating. You would want to have bilge pumps with a huge flow if you are intending to take an open boat out in those seas. It’s interesting to see how many of those open boats get large amounts of green water dumped into them. If I was skippering a boat through there everyone on board would be wearing a life jacket heading out through the inlet and they would be sitting where I tell them. That would definitely not include sitting in the bow. Trimming a boat going through there would be a challenge with a lot of people on board.
Of course experience and day to day knowledge of the bar are important, but for some reason most of the open decked boats have down swept rails at the bow. In watching your videos, the Scout designs seem to handle the bar the best because they are one of the few boats with up swept rails at the bow as well as a flared hull in the bow profile. I just don’t get the trend of down swept rails……
With rolling white caps an open bow must keep the nose up. That is what trim is for. I am concerned that I see no life jackets. As captain I saw to it 5havt all passengers had a jacket. If they choose to not wear it ,it was their last trip.
For me there is nothing more cool than just a dude driving his boat, no bitches twerking, no drunk people, just a guy and his boat cruising thru the waves...
In the first of the video, most of the ocean would seem to be labeled with "small craft warning." That just doesn't seem to be fun. Very few PFDs and seemingly not a lot of captain sense. I love to watch the captains that are taking care of business. I say it often, but your vids are simply great. I have spent a lot of time on the salt and you make it seem like I'm out there with the spray on my face and the smell in my nose. Thank you.
I think it is hilarious as they are laughing and having a wonderful time then something happens. The look on their face goes from joy to terror and worry in an instant. Their pride is damaged as well considering there are usually hundreds of onlookers. Many just pull the throttle out, turn around and ease back to the inlet to go and clean out their shorts.
Este es un mensaje para todos los Argentinos que navegan en el Delta del Parana...que les falta a estas Lanchas que si todos tienen aca en el Delta y a estas lanchas no le vi a ninguna
O.K., here we go, I understand the fishing charter boats, the fancy profiling party boats go out hell or high water to satisfy that big nut ($) they got to pay off, but the smaller fun, pleasure boats can't they figure out what time they might have a little slack water, I also understand that time & weather might not fit thier schedule, but better than risking your boat, life, unless you're a thrill seeker ? P.S. P.F.D. might be an option in case of an oopsie !
The Nor-Tech and its owner had their proverbial ass's handed to them. He backed off the throttle at the time. Slowing down is fine, but you need to know what the ocean is giving you
Typical hobby skippers and boats, except the mako skipper he does perfectly riding between the waves not to get stuffed or overtaken bg the wave to lose steering. Most stupid boats are bowriders with a wavepiercing bow, defends the purpose.
Which is More Dangerous: Haulover vs. Boca Inlet?
1:45 a father and his son, right?
1:22 I think it's both
Even a calm lake if not experienced or having, had to much fun !
Boca. Looks pretty turbulent for sure. Looked like a washing machine. Both can be nasry..☠️☠️☠️☠️🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🇺🇸
There's a difference between being a captain, a pilot, and a boat owner... Hello from São Paulo, Brazil 🇧🇷.
Sao Paulo representing!
Bem vindo! 🇧🇷

Why can I not stop watching these videos???
Thx
Same!! 😮
The waves rolling on the sea are so beautiful. It's wonderful

Both are so dangerous 😳. Crazy waves!

Cpt must got game how effortlessly he flowin with that boat at the 9:40 mark.
It’s good to see all these people with no life jacket on in rough seas

I don’t know why people are wondering why these boats are heading out… looks like a nice day for a lovely cruise 🤣😉😎
Is this inlet so choppy due to the inlet bed? If it was dredged would it be a smoother run??
The 450 and 425 xto's are super.
Good video 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 was it filmed on a full moon 🌝 or something 🤷🏼♂️
not sure why the trim is not used to keep the nose of the bow up. results are a smoother ride avoiding the boat being swamped.
Is that a pigeon at 11:33 ?
That would be a lot of fun in my 21' sea kayak!
a 21' sea kayak?...just by a 21' boat

Nice video
Million dollar boat hundred dollar captain.
Things can go sideways very fast out there on the water.

Great day to be on the water!! WTF really lol
how does one go fishing like that?
''So beautiful
I can only ask some captains...WHY?
As a boat captain I can say that there's more to boating than just owning a boat and heading out there....
This is like watching Karaoke...no fun when they are good at it.

conditions are too rough and the captain going way too fast
What to hell is wrong with these people. No life jackets, even on kids. Come on.
The Nor-Tech and its owner had their proverbial ass's handed to them. He backed off the throttle at the time. Slowing down is fine, but you need to know what the ocean is giving you
Money cannot fix "Stupid".
At least most of the boats had fishing gear
I just dont get why someone would want to go out. in that crap for a joy ride?
why would you want to go out in such s.hit weather
why risk your life for a FISH stay home or in the ICW
These people need to learn how to operate a boat,or know when to stay home
