Wow i wonder how she felt being a bubbly extrovert surrounded by 4 awkward introverts (im assuming). She seriously stands out. Not in a bad way though. Her contrasting energy compared to theirs just made the video even more awkward, haha. At least she tried to break the tension.

Amazing video. You should listen to what joey said tho, and let each photographer describe their shot. It would be amazing especially to rookie photographers such as myself to be able to know the thought process of talented photographers, like how you choose the composition for the image, the background, lighting etc.
Definitely will incorporate that into future episodes :)

With the Joey pictures I realized It is not always about having the greatest depth of field, sometimes it is better to give an idea of the place to create emotions. Joey's fourth photo is the best of all 16

I'm honestly a bit dissappointed. The first 3 videos were so good but now the motive and editing on some of them is so bad. and yes brandon and nyc is a mst but hes always using the same 2 or 3 presets, thats so boring.

Same. And it seems like she was nervous/anxious herself and was just trying to break the photographers' awkward tension cause she doesn't seem like and awkward person at all. Sometimes ppl can be obnoxious with their over judging attitudes.

Joey is a completely different level of photographer. I'd say he's on track to Leibovitz and Avedon status. His Syria work is insane.
What I would love to hear is how each photographer talks to the model

I can only give the tip to always be positive and say things like; 'Could you relax your arm a bit more?' instead of; 'Could you stop straining your arm?'
It seems easy, but I've been photographed before and once the pictures didn't turn out how he wanted them, the photographer would get frustrated and criticise mé for it.
I recently looked back to the pictures that were made, some are stunning, especially in the beginning of the shooting, but then I see my facial expression changing, lips tightening, smile fading and in the end, the result was a terrified girl trying to pose 'as the cameraman asked her to do.'
That's not what you want at all. The smile turns real and spontanious if you let the model 'lead' with the movements and you only give tips. It makes (especially outside) pictures more realistic as well.
We also made one where I'm hanging dramatically backwards, leaning on air, doing the limbo so to say. The opposite of realistic or natural movements.
Usually, people use a special stage for that, so that the model only has to lean backwards a bit, but since he didn't own that, I was forced to hang backwards for an excruciating long time.
He became frustrated each time I said; 'I cán't, I..sorry, my back' and stood upstraight again. He said things like; 'Just a couple more, think of something else, this'll be pretty, just lean further, don't be scared..'
Which made me feel like a lifeless prop, because I felt the pain in my back, no matter how 'cool' the pose may have been. There's a reason other people support the model with greenscreen-cubes and/or that crooked floor.
The result was a picture of me, straining my face, my neck, my jaw and frowning sternly.
People said I looked like a man with those muscles strained. A whole evening 'wasted' on a picture that nobody liked, not even the cameraman, who got frustrated again and said; 'You should've leaned fúrther, as I asked you!'
So, it might be a useless tip, because I can imagine you wouldn't act like this photographer did.
But this is where you have to make sure the model is feeling alright. Giving her breaks, pauses, backsupport if you will, in between photo's. If you go outside you can have someone walk with you, if that's possible, to help the model up if she needs to get onto a wall and then help her get down again.
If the model feels relaxed and happy, it'll show in the pictures. Give her time to adjust to the space/action (like sitting on a swing or drinking tea or whatever) and don't command a smile 'so you can move on to the next place.'
Because that smile will be fake and you can see that. :)

It would be incredible to see an episode where each photographer has to create their own shoot with everyday objects. Like a focus such as a a particular room in a house/apartment and the challenge is they use the items around them to create a unique and quirky shoot!

This video was great! LOVED the color grading, too. Small suggestion: It'd be great if you guys could get a shotgun mic though... it's hard to hear with all the background noise.

Wow, Jessica's photos were way better in this video than in the last few episodes. I felt like she really improved. She was often in my top two of each set. Bravo!
Not all eyes open can see the essence of the human, as not everyone can empathize enough to bring all that range of emotions found from their travels and recreate it in a studio, as Joey does. It is something that is very evident in his personal work and the commercial work commissioned. In no case, he does not stop being him
So much so, that if he choose the models, he have the ability to select a model that can convey the closest expression to the real thing according to the concept of the photograph to be taken, it's not just choosing a "beautiful model" and thats makes you work more easier from any angle for shoot. And that's where this challenge seems to me excellent since Charlotte, evidently shows an expression, an attitude and a very different look in the photos of Joey L, to the rest of the photographs, which seemed to be more focused on their beauty. Because make a difference in terms of photographing a person who can make you many faces and positions aesthetically adapted to a specific circumstance than photograph many people, each with their emotion and particular expression.
It goes without saying that every photographer has his own style and all the photos have been beautiful, really. In this digital age, where everything moves paranoidly fast, few stop to watch. Thanks for this video Jessica Kobeissi, nothing better than a challenge that takes us out of our comfort zone. Keep doing it.
I'm binge watching this, and I love it! I just hope, and recommend listing who took each photo instead of (ex.)j.2, because that way, people could see who took it an follow them because they like their aesthetic.
what I like about Jessica is that she doesn't have like those fancy intros that take up to 15 seconds to end and how she just goes straight into the video unlike many channels now adays and how her videos don't feel forced... if I'm being honest she's one of my inspirations due to me being a self taught photographer as well (still learning) :)

Love Charlotte's energy! She is so cute in the way that she acts. I think out of the models that Brandon shoots, normally, that her pictures always stand out to me! Love these videos, and I love seeing how Brandon's and Jessica's editing style has evolved so much. I really appreciate how Brandon has started editing the skin not so smooth and has started allowing some of the texture actually show through. Jessica has kind of taken the direction of her photography towards one with more depth of field versus the fashion wide-angle, more shallow photography that she used to shoot.
I've never seen anything by Dani before and I'm absolutely loving it! All of his shots were gorgeous (so was everyone else's)
