A lot of the Unsolved Mysteries episodes from the late 80s/early 90s also had the whole 'we think maybe they had amnesia!' angle. That and 'it was a Satanic cult!'.
I hated how many times the cast tried to guilt trip the Olsens into returning to the show on Fuller House. The girls were around 8 or 9 when it ended. As significant a time as it would've been for the main cast, they probably, realistically don't remember much about filming it anymore and, therefore, don't feel as strongly or sentimentally about those years. Besides, they hadn't acted in over ten years by that point. They can't base their lives around other people's nostalgia.
They also never had much choice about acting and they didn't like it. Mary Kate recently said she appreciated the money and opportunities from acting, but that she wouldn't wish her childhood on anyone.
Not really, they have actual real careers making very real money. Why would they down grade to doing this cheesy desperate show that they were forced to do as tiny kids?
They were forced tho. The Olsen family was smart with making their kids known but there’s a lot of stuff that happened behind the scenes. Not only the success of the show but how obsessed the media was with the Olsen twins. Early exposure to fame does a lot for a kid.
The guilt tripping sucked. They could’ve made it into a funny recurring joke about how Michelle is always running late or just off camera in the other room or something, but they decided to be mean for no reason.
I never understood why they didn't just hire new actors to play Michelle. She was like 8 when the series ended; they couldn't found a convincing replacement for the Olsen Twins
They actually considered asking their little sister to play the part. They ultimately decided not to but they asked if she would have accepted the role and she said no. Worked out for her, she was a main character on one of the Marvel series and made it to Hollywood on her own, not based on her last name.
@@userasdf but by Season 5 it looked bad for Michelle to not be at the wedding. And the nostalgia stuff had wore off. They should’ve at least said Michelle’s flight got cancelled and had her on a video call at the wedding, if they didn’t want to hire a replacement actor.
What if Michelle actually didn't get her memory back but just pretended to remember them at the end of the episode. She now found them all to be annoying and weird and wanted them to stop trying to make her remember so she told them what they wanted to hear.
Compelling theory but you gotta explain the reference to something she wouldn't remember happening. You could explain away everything else she did to convince them but not that
@saturnsings3471 we see her get it back I'm her room when she hugs herself plus how would she remember herself telling nicky and Alex no about getting the orange stuffed animal thing I think it's called Rigby or something or that stefani said she'd never talk to her again
I didn't exactly like the guilt trip in the pilot episode of Fuller House. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen have their own lives, and to be fair, didn't have to tap the nostalgia market to revive sour careers into irrelevancy like the rest of the cast did. I am glad that the rest of the surviving cast repaired their relationship with Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen at Bob Saget's funeral, but I really respected the Olsens for respecting their own comfort and not going along with it.
The thing is every person has right to do what is best for them, but again Mary and Ashley are famous because this show, I think they could have a cameo, or something, because I know that nether of them are acting now, that would have help to mend the relationship before
@@patriciaalvareztostado8170 They retired from acting when they where like 16 or so. That was a LONG time ago for them so yeah they aren't actresses anymore and have no interest in acting.
@@TheLastSane1 Agreed. They did a ton of acting after Full House and were more than ready to move on. They have a successful business so why would they want to revisit the past?
@@patriciaalvareztostado8170 While I don't know about the drama much behind the scenes but feels like is a fair enough reason, I keep thinking of the gilmore girls revival. They got basically every major cast member back for at least a cameo and like melissa mccarthy is huge now and obviously busy and Danny Strong is a big name writer now and also busy (and I'd say didn't even have a major role in the show) but both came back, however briefly (Danny Strong for an appropriate amount of time for his role. Mccarthy not really enough considering her role but fair considering her fame now). Feel like the cast there got along quite well so thats a bit more understandable. But they can do whatever they like. I really don't care about fuller house. I saw the scene where Uncle Jesse does his first cameo and that's it. I had no idea everyone else even cameoed again besides the olsens.
I'm glad that her amnesia was a bit more realistic than other sitcoms. While other characters in the other shows get their memory back by getting hit on the head the second time that doesn't happen to Michelle. However the part that was unrealistic was that had her brain injury been severe she would've had to relearn to walk and talk!
Is a family show, they cant be to dark, they even talk about dark things that in other show didnt talk a that moment, Full house was my favorite show growing up
Technically it's possible to have episodic memory amnesia (names, places, events) but retain procedural memory (talk, walk, etc) cuz the latter is borderline subconscious and link to other process like muscle memory while the former is mostly in the brain. A common example of that is people that black out because of alcohols or drugs but were still able to walk or talk (to some extend) during the time they did not form new episodic memories.
@@andreanatsuminadeau5608That's usually due to chemical or psychological blackouts. She suffered a TBI, which would have damaged parts of the brain responsible for motor skills as well as speech and memory. Coup-contrecoup injuries go much deeper than just a select part of the brain. I have been an RN for 26 yrs, and I have worked with many people with traumatic brain injuries. They have different levels of injury, and different effects on their level of functioning and ability to recover.
The rich lady insulting Michelle is surprisingly on point. Equestrian is an oddly political sport and the whoever os the judges' favorite wins. I quit after losing a perfect run to a girl who couldn't control her horse in the slightest.
…and spending every dollar you have, only to get passed over for someone with the “right” name. Solidarity! I loved it too, but it’s no longer worth it.
I neuer had Problems in competitions. I don't see what about horse sports could be political. It's a very tiny niche that the vast majority of people has no interest in.
I always felt sorry for Stephanie. D.J. and Michelle both were such brats, and they were horrible to her for no reason. She treated them much better than they treated her. Remember when everyone thought D.J. had been drinking, Stephanie was the only one who believed her when she said she wasn’t. And when D.J. went on her nearly lethal crash diet, Stephanie was the only person who even noticed D.J. was acting strangely, and when she found out D.J. hadn’t eaten for almost a week and threatened to tell on her D.J. snapped at her for the audacity to feel concern at her sister slowly killing herself.
I understand your point, but to be fair the not eating thing is a common symptom of eds. it was still unfair to Stephanie, but D.J. wasn’t a brat in this situation she needed some help. Also the episode when Stephanie made friends with those boys who drove recklessly D.J. was the only one who noticed and stopped her, and Stephanie gave her a lot of abuse
I saw a theory that Danny went nuts after everybody moved out, and it was just him and Michelle, and he was controlling her too much and nobody believed her when she said he was crazy
I like this idea so much better than any of the actual episodes, lol! Its so much more interesting. I honestly didn't care for the show too much. I found a lot of the family shows of that era annoying because they were so wholesome and predictable.
Danny already had OCD in the show. By the time Uncle Jesse, Aunt Becky and the twins got their own place, Uncle Joey moved out, D.J. went to veterinary school, Stephine did whatever she did, it was just Michelle and Danny. Jesse, Becky and Joey probably helped Danny keep his OCD in check. Michelle was just a child and it probably got worse as everyone moved out and he got older. To the point of him probably needing medication but therapy but he refused them. People with uncontrolled OCD can get abusive. When D.J. called from vet school to see how everyone was doing, and Michelle tried to tell her how Danny screamed at her for refusing to throw things away or forgetting to wash her hands once in a while, D.J. was probably like, "Poor Michelle. That riding accident always made her funny in the head."
Ok, So I am not the only one that ever noticed that. There are several "ABC/Disney" sitcoms that seemed to make fun of serious issues. Family Matters, did the same thing.
@Purestock there's an entire series of "very special episode" commentaries and they mention the weird laugh track timing too (I think on Funny Or Die's channel? Remember them?)
In regards to the family stepping away to talk about the daughter in front of her. I worked in healthcare for about 15 years and you would not believe how often people talk about their parents right in front of them like they’re not there, just because they have dementia or Alzheimer’s they think that person isn’t in the room! Anyways awesome video, I love you!
As a physician, yes, we totally do this... Although my parents are usually pretty far gone.. I address the kids and then talk back to the patient and ask what they think and I get blank stares so I just go back to the kids.
It's not easy when your parent has memory problems. My mom was still mostly with it, but details were getting a bit muddled and it was hard to recall when something happened. It would get worse in a situation that she found stressful, like being at the doctor's or in the hospital. I was going to all of her appointments with her, but it's not like I could just talk to her doctor alone, so it was kind of frustrating for me because I couldn't really explain to her doctor how concerned I was without my mom hearing and getting worried about what was going on with her own mind and also worried about me. When she had to spend the night in the ER I was able to talk to one of the nurses in the hallway and explain that she had memory problems, but when I came back the next day it seemed like that info didn't get passed on to the other nurses. They had a bunch of questions about her medications and health history that she couldn't give them straight answers about. They knew what she had been prescribed, but when they tried to confirm that the list was correct and the dosages and how often and what time of day she took everything, she would say something like "Oh, I stopped taking medication X a couple weeks ago because it was bothering me." And when I came in the nurse was really concerned because medication X was really, really important for her to take every day. So I had to sit there with my mom and tell the nurse that I fill her pill organizer with all of her prescribed meds and every day I check it to make sure she has taken her meds for the day or make her take them if she hasn't and I didn't give her the option to stop taking any of medications, so she had definitely been taking everything. I didn't want to have to answer for my mom, but that was when I realized how bad things were getting when she couldn't give the nurse accurate and complete information even about her health history or saying she stopped taking a medication when she knew I was keeping her on track. I used to think dementia was something where your memory of your past just faded out after some point and anything after that point was gone, but it's more like a kaleidoscope with a lot of little pieces that shift around as you move and change what you see. Nothing is stable and the whole picture can get jumbled around and become unrecognizable and memory loss is like the little pieces are falling out just a little bit at a time, but you can't catch them because they keep slipping through your fingers and the kaleidoscope won't stop turning.
There actually are other references to this episode in Fuller House. In fact I think they're all in that same episode where Max mentioned it. It was brought up about six different times. Steve recreated their prom night and mentioned it saying "I don't know how that connects to our prom but I feel like I had to mention it for some reason." Donna Jo brings it up saying she almost didn't go to prom because her little sister had amnesia. Stephanie also mentions how her little sister had amnesia randomly, to a complete stranger, with no context which confuses them only to be followed up with "Oh don't worry, she's fine now." Kimmy also brings up "that one time your little sister had amnesia" It was basically used as a running joke through out the entire episode as different characters kept bringing it up.
So back in high school my sister and I were binge watching full house. When we got to the series finale my sister and I were talking about how weird and scary it would be to loose your memory. Not long after my sister had a head injury and she actually lost her memory for about a month.
The abrupt end to such a successful show and the fact not even their sister Elizabeth didn't sign on to do the comeback as 'Michelle' despite just launching her own career makes ya wonder wth happened on that family favorite set 😬
"In an interview with SiriusXM, Bob Saget shared that he, John Stamos, and Dave Coulier would often joke around on set and do pretty obscene things with each other to get a laugh. One particular instance Saget shared was the time he pretended to perform sexual acts on a doll meant to be a stand-in for his character's daughter, Michelle. Saget noted that the four-foot rubber doll even looked like a child to resemble her. As Saget recalled, when the child actors were off-set between takes and there were only adults around, he performed sexual acts on the doll, which he said made everyone in the room burst into laughter. However, what he didn't know at the time was that the child actors who were in their classroom off-set had a monitor inside where they could see everything happening on set - which prompted one of the production crew to come down to the set and ask Saget to stop."
@sonofabatchobrownies There was also a rumor that Bob Saget on several occasions would talk about how much he wanted to f*** Kimmy and allegedly did so even though she was a minor. 🫤
@@dausirenslament9766Yes you are correct but not in the beginning! For whatever reason! By the mid 90's it was Olsen Twins explosion with movies, VHS tapes games and toys, not so much back in 1987! It wasn't until the last couple seasons of Full House were they where were finally credited as Marykate & Ashley Olsen. Before that they were credited as MaryKate Ashley Olsen. 🤗📺📼👍
I think they may have rewritten the ending of the final episode of "Full House," because it still seems like a final series scene when Danny said "Just like we always will" with the FH theme playing slowly in the background.
I think Steve's actor was still at college too so he probably had to come back pretty last minute because he went to Harvard and I know that one of my college Audio Design professors said that he was doing voice acting for the Aladdin TV show or maybe the direct to video movies (I forget which one) and would come in to record at the guy's studio at the time. So I can't imagine they would have written him in for one scene while he was a busy student unless it was for something big. It may even explain why it wasn't filmed last if it had to work alongside his college schedule for him to simply be in town for a week.
I convinced my brother that the plot of the last episode of Full House was that the stove's pilot light went out, Michelle got amnesia, she forgot that she left the gas on, and a spark ignited the gas just as she got her memory back - blowing the whole house up. I'm not joking. I had forgotten about telling him that until some years later when he called me after watching the actual last episode. To this day, I have still never watched it.
@@PugMugsly The series finale of Family Ties original ending was for the Keatens to die in a plane crash. So instead of Family Ties the title of the show would change to Family Dies. 🤔🙄🤷🛫
@@PugMugsly That is ACTUALLY what they did at the end of Little House on the Prairie! After 9 seasons and a couple of made for TV movies later on, Michael Landon didn't want to be asked to make anymore reunions, so he he ended the series with the everyone in the town of Walnut Grove having to move due to economic circumstances. They rigged up all the buildings on the set with dynamite as part of the plot, show the cast as they sadly gather around the main character on their way out of town to say good-bye to it, and he pushes down the plunger to detonate the dynamite and LITERALLY blows up the whole town! 😂 After growing up with all these characters, it was traumatizing to say the least. 🤣🤣🤣
@@bluegiraffe9407 OK you got some facts majorly wrong. The reason for the town having to be destroyed is that as part of the contract with the owner of the land they were using to film the show all of the land had to be cleared once they stopped using/renting it. Everything was going to have to be destroyed for removal anyway so Michael Landon and the producers thought it would be a great idea to use it as part of the series finale . The story of the final show was that during a visit by Charles and Caroline Walnut Grove discovers a land development tycoon has acquired title to all the land in Hero Township. This means no one actually owns their land and everyone is being forced to either leave or rent what they actually worked to build up from the scum that stole it from them. At the final town meeting thanks to a furious Laura they get a sudden realization that while he may own the land THEY own what's on it which has the town quickly form a defiant plan to dynamite almost every building in town. The whole town triumphantly marches out of town singing Onward Christian Soldiers feeling victorious because although their town died it's death has spared two others whose officials have gleefully vowed to do the same which forces Mr. jerk developer to humble himself to set up plans to bargain with them .

i finally learned how to tell mk & ashley apart this year. it feels like i unlocked a bonus edition of full house after all of these years. its really neat. i will always be loyal & defensive of them. very inspiring woman. i am glad they abandoned hollywood 2 live their best lives, we never deserved them!
"so even if I get better, I won't remember her?" about her dead mom dying when Michelle was a baby? okay, yeah, that line is legitimately sad! I remember watching this episode, but I didn't know it was the finale.
There was a very famous book about satanic ritual abuse that's called Michelle remembers (the story was fake though), maybe they didn't want to possibly get associated with something like that.
I have to agree it was an odd part of Fuller House that Michelle wasn't there for big moments to support her apparently close knit, loving family . They mentioned phone calls but there never seemed any real close contact with her. It would make more sense that having a big high pressure career in a tough city like NYC that Michelle would be even more inclined to cling to her loving family as her safe place. The head injury angle would have nicely explained her remoteness from the family and why her career is more important to her now. They indeed could have lamented early on how she never was quite the same after that. She got her memories back but had lost her bond with the family. They could have explained that to their great sadness that she just gradually grew more away from them as time went on. They also could have made it a point that it was something they all just had to learn to accept as they can't force her to be close to them. They could have said that they have made it clear to her that they love her and are always there should she want or need them.
I think the reason they didn't want to put her being "different" into the new show was they were still hopeful she might show up. If they said "She has never been the same" and she did show up for even one episode they would have to write something into the show to explain why she was different
As for the order of the episodes, it isn't as if they did the finale, then went back as you're describing. Back in the 90's (technically it happens still today and in different eras as well) it was common, especially for kids shows to either film, or create episodes out of order then air in order, or if they do follow the same order of filming and airing, occasionally the higher ups will switch the order of airing of certain episodes for multiple reasons. One common thing that happened around 9/11 for example was a lot of episodes and films being switched to different dates, storylines slightly changed, or cancelled due to having subject matters that strangely mirrored the situation, or they thought was too dark for a country that was mourning at the time.
They definitely still do it. I’ve heard from my acting professor that’s it’s still common. Mainly cause you may be trying to work around everyone’s schedule and you’re trying to get that perfect moment. Or, cause they just want to.
This stuff still happens all the time. I remember there was a show airing on Disney channel called Shake it up that some people may remember as launching Zendaya's career and the second season premiere was heavily advertised and then very suddenly a different episode played because of the fact that about two days before there was an air show accident and the second season was the two leads at an air show dancing on top of a moving plane. There's also the fact that filming the finale last means that you have to edit it last. If you want to make any changes to it or reshoot anything you'll know that you want to do so before filming actually wraps. So series finales are sometimes filmed in the middle of a show, but are usually the penultimate episode filmed. The TV show M*A*S*H which aired from 1972-1983 and still has the record for largest single viewed TV program when adjusted for population, and only lost longer single viewership without adjusting for population rather recently, filmed it's finale episode second to last because they had a few weeks off to process all of the film from the film episode two weeks for reshoots and then filmed the second to last episode of the series.
Why would anyone think it’s appropriate to manipulate, bully, cajole, force, or even ask more than once for former child stars to return to a show where they likely had some very difficult and challenging experiences? The Olsen twins were worked hard from a young age, told what to do, and didn’t have much of a choice whether to act or not. In fact one of them said recently that although they appreciate the opportunities that acting gave them, she “wouldn’t wish her childhood on anyone.” They were basically forced into that lifestyle. If they didn’t want to return for the reboot GOOD FOR THEM! And good for them for standing their ground on it even when fans were whining and their costars and producers were likely putting a lot of pressure on them to show up.
It’s the same with Sam from ICarly. Jenna was treated like complete garbage by Nick and her not coming back got the excuse “oh she’s in jail” in the reboot basically. They act like Sam never existed and it’s sad af. If someone doesn’t return to a reunion or even leaves they’re punished instead of farewelled and loved for what they did due even with a new lens of context on the events that took place behind the scenes. It’s heartbreaking to know child actors are pawns in the industry. The second they’re not giving the companies money, they’re dropped and shamed..
Don’t forget Thanksgiving when they say they hope she comes next year and John looks at the camera and says come, it’ll be fun. And when Danny says it’s nice to have 3 daughters again when they were talking about the triple wedding
I also watched Full House a ton as a kid. No clue why though, I didn't particularly care for it. And yet I have a weird amount of Full House related trivia rattling around in my head too, like Scott Weinger voicing Aladdin or Candace Cameron being Kirk's sister. I think your mention of it being on tv in perpetuity makes a lot of sense. Excuse my Old, but kids these days just don't appreciate the kind of carousel state of television we grew up in. Nobody wants to pick up a show in the middle anymore, and I remember that being how I picked up the majority of the shows I watched before streaming. Good vid, and I'm jealous of your neighbor getting the raw uncut Full House takes you're dishing out!
Same here -- I legitimately could not tell you if I actually LIKED Full House. But I watched it. A lot. And as such, it wormed its way into permanent residence in my brain. Streaming has changed TV so much for kids. Sometimes, for fun, I like to try and explain to youths what the TV Guide Channel was.
@@PugMugsly TV Guide Channel. Oh boy, I can't even. I imagine those youths look at you the way I looked at my grandparents for actually watching The Weather Channel. Good stuff.
Odd thing about the finale episode is that while Michelle was still amnesiac she saw the family through the eyes of an outsider. Does anyone else ever thought that the Tanners were strange?
It was one of those shows that was basically non offensive and easy to watch because nothing jarring happens. It was the vanilla ice cream of tv shows, not the most interesting flavor, but it's ice cream so you eat it anyway.
doesn’t Kirk show up in a few episodes as their cousin? I don’t remember his name, but I keep wanting to say Steve even though that’s the boyfriend’s name
@andin916 Well John Stamos for one wanted to move on and was tired of the show. Albeit it was rumored that the then WB Network would pick it up for 2 more seasons but it never happended!🏠🤔📺🎸
@@SuperMarioBrosIII The WB did want to pick it up for at least a season since ABC cancelled the show. Like you said, John Stamos was done with the show, mainly because he did not want to move to an at the time unknown brand new network. In addition, Candace declined because she got married and moved to Canada since that was where her husband Valeri was playing NHL hockey. No Uncle Jesse and no DJ meant no more show. However, nobody knew for sure that season 8 was the end until just after they had filmed their last episode of the season (the final episode they filmed aired third to last, right before the 2-episode series finale). The cast returned to film that one last scene so it would seem more like a series finale than just a season finale, but nobody was ever really happy with how the series had no true end/ conclusion.
@@carrietremble - and don't forget had they'd renewed for a Season 9, Candace Cameron would've likely appeared sporadically due to her character graduating from High School and moving on to college.
Fuller House was more focused on shaming the twins instead of being respectful that the adults did things to the doll stand ins and that the original series ended when they were 8, they didn't grow up with it, and then were forced to build their acting empire. Their partners later in life show how they were forced to grow up too fast and were never allowed to be kids
Deep dive did a great doc on the Olsen twins. The doc is called Olsen twins:the dark side of full house and I got a lot of information thanks to doc that made me understand why they did not come back to fuller house.
While I never really questioned it as a kid, as an adult it didn’t make sense that Joey continued to live in the house after Jesse decided to stay. Because Joey continued to live in the basement bedroom, Jesse effectively kicked Stephanie out of her room (classic middle child’s thoughts/rights ignored) . When she asked why he couldn’t take Michelle’s room she is told, because Michelle is a baby who apparently needs her own room (I don’t think she asked why he couldn’t take DJ’s). It made sense at least that Jesse would move in to help because he provided the link, and the memories, to the girls’ mom from the period before Danny came on the scene. He could tell the, how their mom was at their age (though I think he was a yr or two younger than their mom). I could have seen Joey being like Kimmy , just always there only leaving to go home and sleep and shower. It just would have made more sense.
Say what you want about Full House, the show despite my feelings towards some of the actors has always remained in a special place in my heart. Sure it's cheesy but that was the whole point. I think you have to know what you're getting yourself into before watching it at least to a certain point. Like if you're looking for a show like Friends or Roseanne then this probably won't be the show for you. For me personally while I like those shows as well, I also enjoy a nice wholesome cheesy family friendly show. It also wasn't all cheesy and wholesome. It had its share of darker elements and adult humor. That being said, I heard the show wasn't planned on ending before they shot the final few episodes. I know Andrea Barber who plays Kimmy has said this because when she announced Fuller House ending, she was glad that they knew ahead of time so they can give a proper finale (even though I wasn't a big fan of how it ended) where in Full House they didn't know until after shooting the final episodes.
The original Full House plan was 10 seasons. Bob Saget himself admitted this around 15 years ago. Said they cut it short for some reason. They had the scripts written and everything. I suffered the worst concussion ever and never lost anything around me. I knew where I was, who everyone was, etc.
ABC had other plans. They cancelled it. WB wanted to bring it back for a 9th season but the cast turned them down. I wish they had got to season 10. It wouldn’t have gotten DJ through a 4 year college but we would’ve got to see a year of Steph in high school and at least DJ could have gotten her associates degree. Michelle would have graduated elementary school.
@@nelroy78 The Cast wanted a far more public channel to do a 9th and 10th seasons. Wanted CBS, ABC, NBC, or FOX. NO clue why ABC cancelled their highest rated show like that either.
I read a couple of years ago that apparently they did shoot some of what would have been the season 9 premiere. DJ would have been away at college, but she would have been a recurring character (whenever Candace would have been available), but I don't remember what else would have happened. How true that is, I don't know. I also think that John Stamos didn't want to continue if Candace wasn't going to be there.
The school I want to was very discriminatory about prom everyone had to have a date or they could not go. They changed that about three year after I graduated because people complained that it was not fair.
There is a doc about what happened on the full house set and then a doc that had the twin whole acting career and what happened on set. After watching these two docs i can't blame them they grew up on set, listened to a lot of jokes being told on set that should not of heard at their age,Bob saget beat up a doll that was apoused to repenst them and they watched it on the tv in school room on set, and another comadiomd ask bob saget how tell the twins apart saget said one sallows. At the time the twins were in their teens and one had an eating disorder. Also when the show was over they where put into other acting roles and other stuff to make money a lot of it they never saw, they really didn't really have time for friends or to play around and be kids. Oh one of the twins had thier first kiss by playing a role in the movie and there was timer on the Internet counting down the days and years until they turned 18.
Mary Kate and Ashley were involved in the series as babies basically they were on the show being actors before they could even decide what their favorite subject was in school. Kinda makes sense that once they’re adults and found out who they were and who they want to be they don’t want to go back to something that was basically controlling their entire childhood.
What's funny about being a sitcom fan (and I have been for years) is that when the actors move on to other things or projects, you'll recognize them (especially Dave and his voice). I'm curious how much Dave actually makes from doing voice overs. John probably gets some good money out of commercials but when it comes to royalties, I'm curious how much the actors earn from reruns alone.
There's a popular fan theory that Michelle died as a baby and Danny Tanner imagined his life with 3 daughters. The rest of the family went along with Danny's delusion, a Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf sort of thing.
Oh my god I am so sick of fan theories it's the exact same frickin story every time, somebody went insane and is now hallucinating all the characters in the show. Why do people keep parroting this crappy premise?
To be honest, I never liked Michelle in the later seasons. She was a spoiled brat in comparison to Stephanie and DJ. Always remembered that one episode where Danny played favorites and spoiled her. She did so much without consequences. But as actresses, I feel for them because they have all of the trauma of child stars. I hope they're doing well. It's ookay that they didn't return for Fuller House because they finally had control over what they did.
yes, i always felt this way too!! she was very cute but by the time it was season 7&8 and she was about 8 years old it just wasn’t endearing anymore for her to be ruining & taking things of her sisters and being so entitled
I understand why the Olsen twins didn’t decide to be on fuller house they started the show what they were 8 months old to 8 years old they don’t have many memories of the show but would it have been that hard to recast them
There is a interview with the Olsen twins and they say they didn't want to do it because they were babies at the time they barely remember anything of the show And they just didn't want to do it
I used to believe amnesia was something that only happens on TV. Up until I fell in a bookstore and hit my head . I had no clue who I was or my husband was for about an hour. Then things started coming back, but certain things were fuzzy for a couple of weeks.
Yea but they could have done a cameo, one of them has retired from acting completely, the other one just didn’t want to do it. Considering they haven’t worked with these people since they were six I’m not surprised, they don’t need the money and probably don’t have the emotional attachments the other cast members have. But let’s not pretend neither of them could take a few days off to fly to LA and sit at a “holiday” table for 1 episode.
They were 8 when the show ended, and I remember reading that they sent a bunch of their clothing to the show to use. I’m not sure if they did or not though
It wasn't until I rewatched the series that I learned Full House had already jumped the shark long before this episode. To this day I still haven't seen the final episode.

There was another time it was mention on Fuller house in Dj and kimmy reunion when she sad them going to prom together was when Michelle got over her amnesia. It was mentioned again. They did mention during some of the holidays when the family wasent there that they were visiting Michelle and I just pretend phone calls happened off screen
In 2009 I was involved in a car accident in which my skull was cracked open with my swollen brain leaking out. That might be worse than Michelle falling off her horse, and after I woke up from being comatose for a few weeks, it took me a few days but I remembered who I and my family were.. To the young lady in this video, you have sparkly charisma. By that I mean that you speak in a way that brings joy and I for one find that a key component of those I enjoy listening to. If you even read these comments, I suggest you Google my name. Some have told me I'm famous, but the truth is I never shut up. Even if we never speak, god bless you always and I look forward to more of your TH-cam charm. I may one day start your fan club, but I'd like to speak to you first.
Well the thing is they shot the Episode that was their last one to shot ("stood up") really last...with goodbyes and standing Ovation and everything...they did shoot michelle rides again 1&2 before that... idk why it was chosen to be last one in the end..maybe bc they are all in the end scene and not just 2 ppl of the whole cast?
The cast returned to film that final scene in an attempt to make it more series finale like. Those episodes were intended to be the season finale, which is why they aired last. Sometimes, for logistics reasons, episodes are not shot in order. For example, in Fuller House, the very first episode of the series was actually the second episode they filmed.
I'll admit I was a little sad that the character Michelle didn't make an appearance in the reboot because she was my favorite character, considering the Olsen twins were/are close to my age (I think they're a year older than me). But I dont blame them or any other child star who had a rough time being child actors for not coming back to the acting gig cause while if you acted in a movie or tv series or a play that does good, it can earn you money, a lot of child actors only get into acting because thier parents force them to and they practically get used and abused (not all child actors get abused but they still have a rough time). And if they manage to make it to adulthood, the moment they start starring in more adult/mature roles, or start drinking or smoking, they get crap for no longer being a child's role model. And it's like, child stars are expected to remain as kids forever when they can't because we all grow up sometime. It's no wonder Mara Wilson, Macaulay Culkin, Jeannette McCurdy, Amanda Bynes, the Olsen Twins, and Brittney Spears took a step away from the spot light. It's because they all had it rough whether they were actors, musicians or artists.
I remember this main plot line but def not as significantly as i do with most shows that get to have a bit more planning time for their final outing....🤔 Life was weird back in ye olden days when we didn't get immediate notification of a shows cancelation or impending cancelation...🤷♀️
The Canadian tuxedo shouldn't have made Danny any less recognizable. He was San Fransisco's Regis Philbin. Even if she didn't watch his show, she should have known him from a billboard or the side of a bus or something.
Lol! (In newer videos, I try to remove ads from screenshots. No free advertising from me! So this would be a good opportunity to test out TH-cam's blur feature.)
I know it's hard to understand when you have grown up with higher quality acting, but this was really quality t.v for a kid in the 90's; I grew up in a chaotic house with a lot of yelling, blame and emotional pain. This show taught me lessons about kindness, love, communication and respect. I have never seen this content creator before, but I get the feeling she doesn't like this show very much...thats the hard part of different generations; I didn't understand the nostalgia of the baby boomers until the 90's became the new 50's. We are vintage and the younger generations won't understand what that means until their own childhood becomes misunderstood and/or obsolete. I suppose it is the normal progression in the passage of time. It is a strange kind of pain to see childhood nostalgia misunderstood and misrepresented by young adults who didn't experience it.
@19:58... glad you included that clip. As someone who only watched the first season of Fuller House, besides that one scene in the first episode when the cast breaks the 4th wall and looks at the camera, I always wondered if Michelle was ever mentioned again at all It sucks that not even one of the twins bothered to at least make one teeny tiny cameo, but to pretend Michelle basically didn’t exist and not even name drop her character at all for the entire rest of the series would just be (more) bad writing on that show’s part
If you have a brain trauma that severe, you are more likely to never wake up than to wake up with no memory. Even partial amnesia is rare. It's usually all or nothing.
I honestly think it wasn’t fair when they were try to call out the Olsens bc the reason they quit acting was bc they just wanted a normal life and acting was stopping that from happening.
As a kid I thought amnesia was more prevalent because of shows like this. That and quicksand. Lol.
That was my first exposure to amnesia as a child of course as I got older I learned that their not as common as they are in tv shows lol
Hallmark movies has done the amnesia thing.
And black holes
A lot of the Unsolved Mysteries episodes from the late 80s/early 90s also had the whole 'we think maybe they had amnesia!' angle. That and 'it was a Satanic cult!'.
Seriously, almost every show had someone get amnesia at some point during the series 🤣🤣🤣 !
@@Teenywing Right? Out of all the cast the Olsen twins were the most successful. They don't need a cheap cash-grab of a reboot to further themselves
BC ITS MARY-KATE&ASHLEY and it was their defining starting role.. you just dont REPLACE that😂
The whole point of these nostalgia series are for nostalgia, so that means the original actors.
@@userasdf this!
She now found them all to be annoying and weird and wanted them to stop trying to make her remember so she told them what they wanted to hear.
this was a theory i had too, because it seemed so sudden that she remembered and she didnt seem that happy about it
And that’s why she didn’t come back for the reboot she saw it as her chance to finally escape them
Compelling theory but you gotta explain the reference to something she wouldn't remember happening.
@@TheLastSane1 Yeah I know, and the have the right to do what is the best for them, they have all the money, they dont need to act
Yeah but it is a family sitcom they can't make it too dark.

Stephanie also got a classmate who was being abused at home away from their abuser by telling Uncle Jessie who called CPS.

I can relate. Similar thing happened to me but no one would believe me.
they should have done this, would have been interesting to explore
Full House had a strange habit of hitting the laugh-track at some awkward wrong times.
Ok, So I am not the only one that ever noticed that. There are several "ABC/Disney" sitcoms that seemed to make fun of serious issues. Family Matters, did the same thing.

In Michelle's case in seems weird to leave the room. She just regained consciousness
Caregivers would talk to us in front of my mother. She would say, "I'm right here."
@@WoefulMinion She was like just because I can't see you doesn't mean I can't hear you j******
There actually are other references to this episode in Fuller House. In fact I think they're all in that same episode where Max mentioned it. It was brought up about six different times.
Steve recreated their prom night and mentioned it saying "I don't know how that connects to our prom but I feel like I had to mention it for some reason."
Donna Jo brings it up saying she almost didn't go to prom because her little sister had amnesia.
Stephanie also mentions how her little sister had amnesia randomly, to a complete stranger, with no context which confuses them only to be followed up with "Oh don't worry, she's fine now."
Kimmy also brings up "that one time your little sister had amnesia"
It was basically used as a running joke through out the entire episode as different characters kept bringing it up.

So back in high school my sister and I were binge watching full house. When we got to the series finale my sister and I were talking about how weird and scary it would be to loose your memory. Not long after my sister had a head injury and she actually lost her memory for about a month.
By the later seasons the show had really become "The Michelle Half Hour" so I really didnt even notice it got cancelled.
After a childhood spent watching TV, I am honestly surprised that amnesia and quicksand aren't more prevalent in my adulthood.

Saget was raping them like nickoldian having a foot in there image cause the pedo who ran it was into kids feet

I thought the series ended at Disney World where Danny proposes to a new wife and she says yes
@@SammyD-vz1qj It's just a take-off on a (long since debunked) book about satanic ritual abuse.
Maybe Danny blames himself that's why he doesn't reference the head injury. Parents internalized alot
They mention Michelle one other time when the ladies get drunk and call her up to leave an alcohol-fueled voice mail.
Don’t forget Thanksgiving when they say they hope she comes next year and John looks at the camera and says come, it’ll be fun. And when Danny says it’s nice to have 3 daughters again when they were talking about the triple wedding
They also mentioned her in one of the final episodes when they found her old bike in the attic.
Dewayne is also the voice for Robin on TEEN TITANS and TEEN TITANS GO.
Whatever
Who cares...
I remember thinking this was so weird and depressing and never understood why they would end it like this…
@andin916 Well John Stamos for one wanted to move on and was tired of the show. Albeit it was rumored that the then WB Network would pick it up for 2 more seasons but it never happended!🏠🤔📺🎸
@@SuperMarioBrosIII it was a nick@nite show fake fan
So is anyone going to write some fanfic about an adult Michelle killing people who are overly affectionate?
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
For real, I’d be happy to!
Still can't get over aunt Becky getting lock smh up 😂
Huh?!
In 2020 Lori Loughlin went to prison for fraud in a college admissions bribery scandal.
I’ve always noticed how Michelle and Jesse have this very close bond with each other and I find it sweet
@@TheKingSource I have never heard of the cast wanting CBS, NBC or Fox to do it.
It became too expensive to shoot
I read a couple of years ago that apparently they did shoot some of what would have been the season 9 premiere. DJ would have been away at college, but she would have been a recurring character (whenever Candace would have been available), but I don't remember what else would have happened.
How true that is, I don't know. I also think that John Stamos didn't want to continue if Candace wasn't going to be there.
The school I want to was very discriminatory about prom everyone had to have a date or they could not go. They changed that about three year after I graduated because people complained that it was not fair.
I watched the entire series as a kid and i was always kinda confused as to how this was the finale of the series. Now it makes more sense
“All Stood Up” was the last episode filmed and the next-to-last episode aired.
Mary Kate and Ashley were involved in the series as babies basically they were on the show being actors before they could even decide what their favorite subject was in school. Kinda makes sense that once they’re adults and found out who they were and who they want to be they don’t want to go back to something that was basically controlling their entire childhood.
Joey should have received a broken shoulder due to his awkward fall from the top.😂
I thought the last episode was the family wanting to move out of the house.
That was the second to last season finale
@@DavidJ-sf1vl I think I know why I did not see the last episode, I started working the year before. Also, my television antenna did not always work.
I actually really liked that they brought Steve back for DJ’s prom date.
Actually found out that the actor who played Steve was the voice of Aladdin
There's a popular fan theory that Michelle died as a baby and Danny Tanner imagined his life with 3 daughters. The rest of the family went along with Danny's delusion, a Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf sort of thing.
that's scary
So exactly the same as every fan theory about every TV show ever.
Oh my god I am so sick of fan theories it's the exact same frickin story every time, somebody went insane and is now hallucinating all the characters in the show. Why do people keep parroting this crappy premise?
@@fractiouslemon Yes that is a concept I see for most tv show Dan theories. That characters are not real and made up in another character head.
Do you have younger siblings because the youngest usually is spoiled my brother who is the youngest of three even in his 20's is still babied.
They did have her call, and made reference to why she wasn't there. At least they didn't recast her. 🤣
I understand why the Olsen twins didn’t decide to be on fuller house they started the show what they were 8 months old to 8 years old they don’t have many memories of the show but would it have been that hard to recast them
There is a interview with the Olsen twins and they say they didn't want to do it because they were babies at the time they barely remember anything of the show And they just didn't want to do it
that was a crazy final episodes should have been a graduation episode instead
I used to believe amnesia was something that only happens on TV. Up until I fell in a bookstore and hit my head . I had no clue who I was or my husband was for about an hour. Then things started coming back, but certain things were fuzzy for a couple of weeks.
Michelle grew up and became a "Howard Hughes" hermit... 😂😂😂
Why didn’t they just ask Elizabeth Olsen to play Michelle? She absolutely looks like her sisters.
This is a really good video. I really enjoyed it. Well done! :)
I guess that Disney world episode was not the last episode of the series like I had previously thought.
Disney world is season 6 there are two more season of the show.
I never realized that episode was the finale. Mind. Blown. What the flip flops.
When she says "so even if I do get better, I wont remember her?"... 😭😭😭
This was a good line.
The reason the twins did not do fuller house was they had other things like their product lines of makeup and cloths lines that they were selling
I just found this channel and am so happy i did! I love full house
When I was a kid, we had Full House on a homemade VHS so we had season 6 episodes play immediately after the season 8 finale
It wasn't until I rewatched the series that I learned Full House had already jumped the shark long before this episode. To this day I still haven't seen the final episode.
I still think it would've been hilarious if they just cast Elizabeth, since the twins said no.
You mean if she said yes

They did mention during some of the holidays when the family wasent there that they were visiting Michelle and I just pretend phone calls happened off screen
It’s very common in head injuries on TV shows from the 90s.
If we were neighbors, we'd be best friends. You get it, these things need to be discussed 👏👏👏
6:47 I totally agree that Michelle was annoying in this scene.

Denim on denim... At the time you added a bolo tie and you had what was referred to as "the Canadian tuxedo" lol 🙃
Somehow I never realized this was the series finale.
Where did the second attic come from? Because Aunt Becky and Uncle Jesse lived in the renovated attic, and later Stephanie did in Fuller House
Stephanie lived in the basement in Fuller House. Kimmy lived in the attic.
I wondered the same thing with the attic. And the twins room is on the wrong side
As soon as i finished this video the episode of spongebob where he loses his memory and becomes the mayor or new kelp city is on the irony
I used to love DJ on the original show, was always someone to look up to. Her character in fuller house was a huge obnoxious let down.
This is so interesting, I never saw the last season or so and never knew how it ended. Thanks!
I really convinced my younger cousins that Michelle died

The Canadian tuxedo shouldn't have made Danny any less recognizable. He was San Fransisco's Regis Philbin. Even if she didn't watch his show, she should have known him from a billboard or the side of a bus or something.

As someone who only watched the first season of Fuller House, besides that one scene in the first episode when the cast breaks the 4th wall and looks at the camera, I always wondered if Michelle was ever mentioned again at all
It sucks that not even one of the twins bothered to at least make one teeny tiny cameo, but to pretend Michelle basically didn’t exist and not even name drop her character at all for the entire rest of the series would just be (more) bad writing on that show’s part
They dropped her name LOTS of times throughout the seasons of Fuller House.
If you have a brain trauma that severe, you are more likely to never wake up than to wake up with no memory. Even partial amnesia is rare. It's usually all or nothing.
According to what?
The episode before the two episode season finale explains what happened to their mom
The same thing happened with MASH. The final episode shot was actually the time capsule not the 2 1/2 hour finale
At least they did end MASH where the war ended and everybody got to say goodbye before going home.
I honestly think it wasn’t fair when they were try to call out the Olsens bc the reason they quit acting was bc they just wanted a normal life and acting was stopping that from happening.
