I think you should move the StarClan guide to "unknown residence" so all of the other cats will follow them! Also keeping the suffixes should be fine because KittyClan reminds me of WarriorClan from Graystripe's Vow or even the daylight warriors from when SkyClan lived in the gorge. But it's ultimately up to you how you make the lore!
I like Ratroot's design and personality. Ratroot would probably bring light to something that's going really bad to lighten the mood because of her silliness.

i have a headcannon for tuftnight already :D cats that aren't tortoishells can just randomly mutate a coloured spot on a part of their body, and their not biologically tortoishells and cant pass it on to kits but tuft doesnt look spotty enough to be an actual tortoiseshell

i actually made a kittypet clan myself! but im starting up a new one right now. as a way to keep the full names, i like to add "This cats real name is (kittypetnamehere)" in their history so its more of a pretend clan. Also, if you wanna make it so the mentions of other clans makes sense, you can say its another kittypet clan that appeared. Just my thoughts!
My guess for the names is they heard about clan cat names and decided they wanted to do that so while some of them went from sky to skystar others (with too kittypet names) got completely new names like bluefur
Maybe have it where kits and apprentices don't get a suffix until a warrior, because they never exactally train and their kittypets, would there be a need to rename them twice? I feel like the kittypets wouldn't be that organized xD (Edit: Subbed bc I forgot, 20 away from 1k!)
i think they should be kittypets playing warriors, maybe eventually actually (through influence of the supernatural and afterlife), becoming warriors of their own right, with their culture being formed of the warriors of the forest as well as the kittypets of the twoleg place. basically becoming their own unique and socialized group
