Omg the “I’ll pay you in exposure” thing is like always offered from people with Instagram pages with like 50 followers. Like WHAT EXPOSURE WOULD I GET FROM THAT??? (Btw not saying 50 followers isn’t a lot, but it’s not worth spending 5 hours on a drawing for)
Or when they're a blending tool.. I was drawing a pretty cool Dragon when I flipped the pencil around to erase some of the mistakes... it B L E N D E D

That's good. If you go and think of the million ways to fix that drawing and know how to, it means you improved. If something you made a long time ago still looks good, (in one part or the whole) it means you didn't improve much or at all in that aspect of the drawing. Laugh at that art and know how much you were able to get so much better.

I like drawing random suff, often i draw Stands from JoJo's, and when people ask me "what are you drawing? That's beautifull!" I have no clue of what to say.
I was forced to show the class my art, the one time. the ONE FRIKING TIME my friend said, "Didn't you used to be a furry?" that was the worst. I don't have a hate towards furries, but my classmates sure do😭
"How do you able to draw like that?" "I practice" "Some people are just born with talent" "I said I practice" "I bet I won't be good at this ever" "PRACTICE!!"
I once got asked about this and when I told them how bad I used to be and that I just practiced all the time, they said they would never be good since they had already practiced for weeks and hadn't made much progress. WEEKS!!! Like I know it might make people impatient but art takes years to develop and even after about 4 years of drawing with the goal of improving, I'm barely "intermediate" (in my own evaluation according to my goals) even though I consider myself a fast learner.
my mothers just like "oh im so glad GOD gave you this amazing talent to draw" "no mom i practiced for years, the first thing i was happy about drawing was a stick figure" "nope, you better thank jesus for your gift" smdh
this is why i like GIMP. you can group layers. you can group layer groups too. if you hide the group itself and the dot disappears, you have narrowed it down to that group. if it's not in front of anything that is also in that group, you can select that entire group and erase just the dot, and it'll actually work. i think it's a later version, so if your version doesn't have it, it will if you update. if you don't have GIMP, it's free if you want it. don't worry about google results. i was worried too, but as long as you have safesearch on, it wont give bdsm results. if you don't know what that is, good.
When you can’t draw that one slightly curved line so you have to redraw it 50 times before it actually looks nice, but your brain decides it could be better so you redraw it again and it looks even worse than before.

Something that happened to me some months ago is that I was at my grandmother's house with my little cousins and I decided to draw two of them (2 sisters, they were 5 and 3). When I finished it I really liked the result, so I showed them and the littlest liked it and showed it to her mother, but the other one LITERARY BROKE IT INTENTIONALLY JUST BECAUSE
@@Ka_tsun I just wanna tell them, that I can't draw straight line cause I'm not straight, but then realise that no one would understand, because we are hungarian and it wouldn't make sense :'D
Me as a cartoonist, this is what bothers me the most Me: **drawing** Person: OMG YOU AN ARTIST?! CAN YOU DRAW THIS?! **insert fully shaded, watercolor drawing of a cat** Me: okay...? **draws a cartoony style of it** Person: AAAA YOU RIPOFF HOW DARE YOU NOT DRAW SOMETHING CONPLETEY OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE?!?!
I know, right? I HATE that question. This is how that conversation always goes: Me: **quietly drawing something** Them:**Looking over my shoulder** Did you draw that? Me: Yes Them: Cool Me: **continuing to draw** Them: What is it? Me: **gives a complicated and long description of the character** Them: Okay And then they leave It happens literally every time I draw something in anywhere besides my bedroom.
My horror art story… I’ve been drawing for 5 years and I’ve had so much improvements. I have a whole safe full of art that I made or traced. In 6th grade I had this really cool and complicated character design that I made. I read one comment where someone said that people drew over a drawing. This basically happened to my character. Some random person in my class went through my sketchbook while I was in the bathroom and coloured this specific drawing that took months to make. Thank god I had a picture of it to trace again. The reason I have a safe for my art is because of my cat. She is a chewer and has a taste for paper. Recently I found a piece I made and colored and inked in the floor torn to shreds. Now I always make sure my art is in the safe. My last art horror story was during an art competition for my school. A girl seen what I was drawing and decided to copy it. Since her drawing style was much better than mine, everyone thought she was the original maker and I got disqualified. I don’t draw in public or throw away my pieces without ripping them up now.
Why every saying exactly the same things to me? I'm not even a good artist, if i'm on the internet and watching fanarts and animations, i just gets depressed because they more much better than my arts, and my arts compared to them is a trash..
Some things I hate: *drawing an OC that looks nothing like me* "Is that you?" Why yes, of course I'm a male who's 6'6 and has silver dyed hair. Thanks for noticing. *drawing the same OC* "That doesn't look like you." Do you really think I'm so self absorbed that I'd only draw self portraits? *drawing a chibi, bonus points if on paper* "OMG! That's such a good GACHA EDIT!" Excuse me, not every chibi was made by Luni. *got done with drawing* "Did you draw that?" Bruh, you saw me draw it! "Can you draw me?" Sure. "Realistically please?" Suuuuure? But I'm bad... Maybe I could draw you in a Manga or CalArts style? "No! Realistically" Okay. *draws* "OMG EW UR SO BAD!!!11!!!!1" I tried to warn you... "Can you draw my ocs?" Sure! *twelve seconds later* "LOOK WHAT I DREW!!!" B-but I made that...
FINALLY SOMEONE THAT UNDERSTAND THAT GACHA ISN'T ALWAYS CHIBI. I have always draw chibis (or what I think it was lol) and my sis keep talking about gacha when I showed her my drawing. So I downloaded the game and use it mostly for videos, drawing my OCs in different ways and for base. But when I drew actual chibis, I keep getting comments (from friends) "aww cure gacha character" like wOt yOu SaY bIsh. Aight I'mma go now-
Legend says if you go to an abandoned house that is previously inhabited by an artist and you spell "E X P O S U R E" The artist will resurrect in a ghostly form and will instantly be hostile
@@angelakitchens5912 Neither is easier, it just depends on the person. I find traditional art easier because I can rest my hand, look at one point, digital art is harder but it's easier to make good drawings because you can edit/color and get whatever effect however you want what i do sometimes is sketch traditionally, take a pic of it and move it to my digital art program
You're an artist the second you think/say you are an artist. Jesus, Damien Hirst pickled a shark, Slapped "the implausability of smeg" (or whatever it's called) on the tank and people flock to cogratulate the guy. I do the same to the neighbors Pomeranian and I'm "a monster". Art is subjective. (Don't panic, the dog story is a joke lol)
I can tell you that the mosquito part depends on the part of the world (in some places, like extremely close the equatorial line, it can get worse), but it is extremely similar
writers block artist block animators block it has many names, but it plagues the land none the less, and makes life miserable for all of the townspeople
Robocart9 SOBS I am an artist and a writer and I’m abt to protest on the streets bc of this stupid art block and writer’s block. Istfg . I NEED JUSTICE
IMDEADINSIDE_1000 my uncle is actually an artist and he gets a couple thousand dollars per painting. Dont listen to what other people say. If you pursue the things you want to do in life, you could get recognized for your passions. Anyways, you can still be an artist. Practice makes Improvement, thats all that matters! ☺️
That last one is the one I most struggled with because I wanna do a comic or a nice art and my body was like "Nah you don't need to do that. Play games or do nothing" it's very very annoying so thank you for bringing this up (Not sarcastic aswell)
My parents always say that to me... I'd love to work with digital art and/or music, and they always say "it's your life and your choice" but don't support me at what I want to do at all T~T
I don't mind that with certain people, but my god does it annoy me when my grandpa just picks it up, flips through it and is like: "well they don't look realistic, they are too cartoony you should draw more realism" - no, no don't force me to draw in another style just because you dislike my style. Just don't look through my drawings if you are going to complain about how ugly they are because they are not the style you want them to be.
Top tip in art: Don't feel forced into a style or type of thing just do what you want like if you wanna draw an epic dragon hybrid thing go do that don't worry about others pressing you just try your best and do what you want to do
I don't know if it was a teacher from my elementary school or my parents, but I was taught that criticism is to give positive and negative comments in a friendly manner and suggest improvements, not say "It looks terrible, try again." It's called Constructive Criticism, and people should do that.
Art Horror Story of mine: Was drawing something, it was for a school project due the next morning. Recently pulled the last grains of motivation to finally do it. Left to go to the toilet. Came back. Saw my sister drawing over it with a red pen as she normally does that with my art to help me improve. She’s a rlly good artist and often I come over to her and she grabs her red pen and starts correcting it. But that was my project I was nearly done with-
I'm not even kidding some people at my school have there *PARENTS* draw for them so people always think that my mom drew it EVEN THOUGH MY MOM IS A FRENCH TEACHER THAT TEACHES THE HOLE CLASS
Honestly this may be a personal thing, but whenever someone wants to see my entire sketch book. And then just *GRABS* THE BOOK. like Nah dude, that's mine. It ain't for you
My sister always grabs my sketchbooks without asking. And damn I *HATE* when she does it. Especially since she tried to colour a WIP. And my art is often a bit...yeah... not for children's eyes?
I hate this so much, sometimes one of my schoolmates took my sketchbook from my hands with power and i couldn't do anything then she watched MY FUCKIN PERSONAL SKETCHES WITHOUT MY PERMISSION AND I WANTED TO DROWN AWAY and 'cause i'm introvert my best friend had to ask my sketchbook back.
Lol I feel you but my story's kinda different. I had someone take my sketchbook and use it to hit another kid and I was mad for days. The cover got ripped (luckily it didn't fall off) T-T
Things that annoy the frick out of me: 1. *If it’s not realistic art, it’s not good art* I don’t know if anyone else has had this problem before, but I have. And I hate it with a passion. One time I showed some comic-like art to a friend because I was super proud of it, and they JUST THREW IT ON THE FLOOR. They didn’t even say anything! Wtf?!?! Seriously! It made me really mad, so I continued to draw their possible deaths. But when is show someone some realistic art of mine, which isn’t really my thing, they’re like, “OMG it’s so good!!” And I’m happy about that. But I want people to notice the thing I’m actually passionate about. Now that I think about it, a lot of people I know wave off my art. 2. *Commissions* I’m not saying I hate them, no not at all. I just hate it when people expect not to pay. And when they ask for something I can’t necessarily do without being really stressed, like realistic art. And when I’m done with it, and they say, “That’s not what I wanted.” “Can’t you make it better?” “Why does it look like that?” IF YOU ARE GOING TO DO THAT MAKE IT YOUR DAMN SELF! One time my close friend asked for realistic portrait of Lil Peep, and I agreed, for FREE. It stressed me out a lot, but I got it done. And I was super proud. So I gave it to him and guess what? “I asked for Lil Peep, not Lil Pump.” I ACCIDENTLY DREW LIL PUMP INSTEAD OF LIL PEEP. And he STILL expected another drawing, of Lil Peep this time, for FREE. And I said “HELL TO THE NAW.” And he never got a drawing again :) 3. *Old art* Ok, say someone finds some of your old art, and then they say something like, “Why does it look like that?” “This isn’t good.” “What happened to it?” EVEN AFTER you tell them it is old art. It’s old art stupid! Of course it’s gonna look worse! And it doesn’t mean that’s what ALL my art looks like! And I already know that it looks bad. Thank you very much! 4. *Comparing* I hate it when someone looks at your art and says, “____’s looks better.” WELL YOU COULD HAVE KEPT THAT TO YOURSELF. Thanks now I feel insecure about my art and will probably never show it publicly again. Don’t get me wrong, I love other artists works, especially people I know personally. But when you outright embarrass someone like that, NO. You’re basically reminding someone that they’ll never be better! And I know, there are many people that are better at art than me, but don’t rub it in my face!
Why is this so relatable!? My school "friend" asked me why my drawing of my oc wasnt wearing anything... I wanted to yell at her "well what do you think!!?" But I'm way too nice so I told her I wasn't done and then she asked do I only draw furries... She watched me draw a human before. I thought to myself, "is she fricking dumb??" I showed her a human drawing and was like "ohhh so do draw humans." I hate people like that My best friend compares my art to an anime artist (which was our friend) and said she drew better than me. I felt bad. Then she said "I'm just kidding" but were you really kidding?? Okay, that all I have to say
I never share my art with anyone only my dad and my best friend eve, I sometimes draw at school but I try not to give too much attention I have a "friend" he always says that hahaha you can't draw and says I am very bad at drawing now I am good at art he better at drawing but I am still upgrading to beat him but thank God I went to another country, but anyway every artist have to go to see this experience but if u don't want it just don't show off or bring too much attention don't tell anyone u r a good artist or something
on the fourth one jfc when i see someone tell a friend of mine or someone idk that someone elses art is better than theirs it makes me want to smack the person with a foldable chair cause like SHUT YOUR TRAP. YOU POSSIBLY HURT SOMEONES FEELINGS like god. some people dont have respect and it may demotivate people and make them quit art cause of the comparisons.
Fun Fact: Some artists will actively take elements from pop culture characters and blend them into their own. Sonic, for example, was equipped with shoes with buckles to represent Michael Jackson, with them also being red to invoke Santa Claus.
My worst artist story: I was drawing one of my characters, it took me around 5 hours to finish, no breaks, I was SO proud of it until- The app suddenly closed because it had too many layers and I didn't save yet...
I may not have been able to see the art but I have a feeling it was really good, I wish more programs had an Autosave feature, because this just seems so annoying to have happen.
I used to make daily comics of the funniest thing that would happen during the day back in high school. I cant tell you how annoying it was... one day I finally drew someone who asked me. Literally just 4 panels of him standing next to me while I draw.
yesterday my dad literally picked up my sketchbook and started looking through it. that’s like, #1 rule of artist etiquette. DON’T LOOK THROUGH PEOPLES’ SKETCHBOOKS WITHOUT PERMISSION
Apply that rule to diaries as well. Looking through someone's sketchbook or diary without permission gives the owner justifiable reason to punch you in the face.
It’s like when you show someone a picture on your phone and they start swiping and looking through your photos. It’s extremely anxiety inducing in the sense that you’re looking through someone’s private gallery and judging what they capture
1. When nothing wants to look good 2. When parents tell you to do something other than draw 3. When ur eraser smudges ur drawing 4. When your pencil or eraser disappears while you draw 5. When the page wrinkles
I was making a design in art class and I really liked it. But I made a mistake and had to erase on a thin sheet of paper... It ripped horribly down the center. *I CRIED.*
When you are left handed so you have marks on your hand. Then someone asked you when you are going to start drawing. Bruh look. My hand. I didn't colour part of my hand for fun!
ohhhh my god I have this one drawing of my one oc and when I made it I was all proud of it and now, after learning and getting much better at drawing, I can pick out at LEAST 10 errors in that one picture... it drives me INSANE looking at it like: no jaw, no chin, arm way too long wtf, no eyebrows, abdomen is like 2 centimeters long, that head tilt is terrible, what is this pose anyway, his legs are so bad i cant even start to explain-
Issue with being an artist is that there is SO much art out there that no matter how different you try to make your own oc there will be someone else out there who has already drew it
I was drawing a human so I started off with the basic foundation stuff and the person next to me goes, "Why are you drawing cylinders in the shape of the human? Can't you just make the outline and then add details?" I'm a human, I can't envision what that would look like and be able to perfectly replicate what I am thinking of onto a peice of paper.
i've been sketching pretty much ever since i started drawing a former friend of mine kept complaining about how her art looks so shitty compared to mine and i kept reminding her that 1. i've been drawing since kindergarten and 2. she doesn't sketch, does chicken steps and should sketch first to actually know where the limbs and clothes go ffs her reply was always *"i CaNt SkEtCh!1!1!1!"* and i actually wanted to strangle her for it
Here's my personal goblin in my art program: The thing I use for drawing has many settings for brushes, and the annoying thing is, different tools can have other brushes, so I make the ideal brush for something, but I forget to switch to the brush tool, so I effectively make a perfect eraser.
"I like it, but the + on the face doesn't really fit." This actually can be constructive XD If a character is supposed to be looking a certain way, and the + isn't matching that, it could lead to an entire cascade of nope
so it's a reference, not stealing something... i guess ? if i see Chip doing some JoJo poses i think i'll love him even more. and for the dumbass that keep telling you something like "hey you stole that from.../ hey it's like ... you're not original" Just answer "Hey i got Arms and Hands, you are just like me, so you are not original, cut them right off."
THERES ONLY SO MUCH POSES HUMANS CAN DO?! ITS SOOO ANNOYING. People don’t understand they are humans. Not limbs that go everywhere. It’s just you drawing a human and a Karen comes up and says: YOU STOLE MY POSE
I know this video was posted five years ago but...FINALLY SOMEONE WHO GETS ME! My Parents keep on telling that I need to add color to my Drawings but the whole reason why I don't is because i'm trying to learn how to do the perfect shading of coloring..THANK YOU FOR PUTTING THAT PART IN!!!
;-; All of these problems are just so relatable. One time a person called me a pervert because I didn't color in the clothes yet >_> There- there wasn't even any details on the body... just tan..
"Did you draw that?" "Is that a lizard?" "Guys come look at this!" "Do you draw anime?" "Can I draw in your sketchbook?" "You're a really good drawer!" "CAN I HAVE IT?" Like can you please leave me alone I just want to draw my horrible Splatoon fan characters in peace.
My friend drew on some random drawings(Okay it was bongo cat-) and the next day she was going to draw on a different part of the page(normal, gotta fill the pages-) and when she put her hand there, my mind thought NOT THE BONGO CAT and pulled her hand away- apparently I’m strong and hurt her a tiny bit- oof-
I have a story for this, I'm just sitting at the table drawing and someone walks in (can't remember who it was qwq) and they're like "OH BOI WHAT A NICE DRAWING" and I'm like "Thanks.." and then they're like "*steals pencil and draws over everything* it just needed a little something" and after that I wanted to punch them cause they literally messed up my drawing ;-;
I'm only a new artist but I can relate to the motivation one. I draw a random object all day then I get the motivation to make something original at midnight on a school night
When your drawing something can somebody comes up to you saying that it's not good cuz it's not realistic and they refuse to know what a style is = PAIN
Don’t you hate it when you have an amazing idea, but when you make it, its just not quite what you wanted. Like there’s always something that is just a little off.
Catherine Eskelsen not soooo much, I typically figure it out, but I hate it when I’m trying to copy a drawing I already made and it just doesn’t look the same
Actually, I generally don't draw people... So, I've never drawn a naked person before. People don't really care about when animals are missing clothes... I can totally see why that would be annoying though.
Ha I was in class one time and I looked up "female body templates" because I can't draw a body very well I felt like every person to ever exist as looking at me I ended up not drawing at all...
@Rainnpeachh Yeah.. It's hurt so much. I know how you feels. Hurt. AND WHEN I DRAW SOMETHING THEY WERE TO CLOSE TO MY HANDS AND JUST REPEATING "OHHHHH CAN YOU DRAW ME??? " AND I WAS LIKE " I'LL EAT YOUR PARENTS WHEN YOU SLEEP. HOW THE HECK- K. I'M DONE.
When you can’t even draw a stick in a drawing Journal one day but The moment you draw on the back of a test at school it’s a masterpiece. But you can’t get it back TMT
"Who are you drawing?" _Slowly turns my head to them_ "SO THERE'S THIS CHARACTER WHO I'M TRYING TO DRAW-" _Cue my rambles and the other person trying to leave or regretting their life decisions_
If somebody asks about one of my characters or stories mid-drawing I'm going to make them regret the next 20 minutes of their lives with the full story of everything leaving out no details no matter how insignificant
An artists worst nightmare: “Can you draw me?” “What is that? It looks like-“ When people ‘criticize’ by saying “It’s bad. Fix it” When people *touch your project and get super close* Edit: also “ew is that anime?”
I've been an artist in multiple game jams and everyone tells me my art looks fine during the jam but afterwards, when I can't change anything, they tell me they don't like it. It's also the stuff I want to redraw to make it look better too.
me: okay let’s do this art iPad Pro: IS IT TIME TO DO ART!? LET ME MAKE MYSELF COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE TO TOUCH SO YOU CANT ZOOM OR MOVE THE CANVAS Apple Pencil: *yeets out 95% of its battery life capacity* Ears: ok time to get hypersensitive Hands: sHAKE IT OFF SHAKE IT OFF OFF IPad battery: wait what’s this thing called saving battery My back: ow oof I am in pain now legs: what’s comfort? literally the entire couch: *sags under the weight of one person and a tiny dog*
I hate when I try to draw something then it looks terrible so I "draw it later" and when your at school you barely do it on your math paper but it looks awesome. boi.
Legit. Anything I draw at school while I was supposed to be doing something else looks 10x better than what I do at home. There must be some sort of scientific explanation for that
I have had three instances where that happened; and two involve what I think has good drawings of clouds. I’ve struggling to make a good design for a long time, and suddenly on math paper.... boom
E This is just a guess so don’t take what I say too seriously. I think it might be because we don’t want to do the work that’s currently in front of us, so our brain will try to find something else to do in order to prevent boredom
Dude this is the perfect video of explaining how Artists are like waking up in the morning with creativity and wanting to draw something and I can’t sleep is exactly what the heck happens
I hate art block- “Why do you draw things in pencil? It looks weird and dirty.” Well my OC is weird and dirty so you can go insult someone else thanks.
same m8 same, i have an oc called fred who's a frog, his eyes are literally as big as his headand someone said "his eyes are messy" and so i replied with "you expect me to draw a perfect circle everytime i draw my character? talk about high expectations" they just looked at me as if i was the zodiac killer and told a teacher, (i am in 8th grade)
@@tidepodpadthai2633 no, i was sketching and they expected me to do a perfect circle, when, in actuality, i can't do that and they assumed i could, i can take criticism just fine, but they expected a sketch with pencil to be perfect on the first go, it wasn't constructive criticism, they didn't tell me what i did wrong, they couldn't point out what i did wrong and they most certantly didn't give me a solution, they just said 'that circle looks bad' it was being ignorant and rude. while i'm writing this i am legitamately mad at you for thinking that's any kind of good criticism
There is a time and place for criticism, and honestly the person Spring boi was talking about sounded like they were being more rude about it than just simple criticism
I think the motivation thing always stems from comparing what you should be doing, to what you're already doing or would rather do. So like, you mentioned how you dont wanna draw but by bed time you really do? Well you also mentioned your brain is too excited to sleep as well, and I've had insomnia my whole life because of that. I always described it as my brain being too interested in random stuff, but genuinely what I think it really is, is that my brain thinks of sleep as the boring end to my fun with literally anything. A compilation of memes I've seen 1000 times sounds better than just closing my eyes and ending my day. I feel like you might be the same. Like yeah devoting time to art can be kinda blah in comparison to playing games or whatever, but devoting time to art instead of SLEEPING???? Oh HECK yeah I'm all for it! I've rarely met someone who would rather do literally anything else than sleep like me, so I'll admit it's nice to know others experience that same petty thought process. But I feel like there's a lesson to be learned in understanding why we do that, and maybe using our mental habits to improve our schedule/motivations. I always do my most productive stuff late at night because honestly sometimes even chores seem better than just shutting myself off long enough to drift away. Kinda dumb if you think about it because the faster I get to sleep, the more I get to do the next day. But that's all it is, just a preference in short term benefit than long term. Even as I write this I'm sure it's just because I'd rather write out an essay on a 3+ year old youtube video at 4:30 am rather than just finally shut down
Omg the “I’ll pay you in exposure” thing is like always offered from people with Instagram pages with like 50 followers. Like WHAT EXPOSURE WOULD I GET FROM THAT???
(Btw not saying 50 followers isn’t a lot, but it’s not worth spending 5 hours on a drawing for)

Yup be done that, I was like_ WERE DID I PUT THAT?
LOL dog we share a spiritual connection.
this is why i like GIMP. you can group layers. you can group layer groups too. if you hide the group itself and the dot disappears, you have narrowed it down to that group. if it's not in front of anything that is also in that group, you can select that entire group and erase just the dot, and it'll actually work. i think it's a later version, so if your version doesn't have it, it will if you update. if you don't have GIMP, it's free if you want it. don't worry about google results. i was worried too, but as long as you have safesearch on, it wont give bdsm results. if you don't know what that is, good.

My horror art story…
I’ve been drawing for 5 years and I’ve had so much improvements.
Moral of the story: people can die in a ditch

My sister always grabs my sketchbooks without asking. And damn I *HATE* when she does it. Especially since she tried to colour a WIP. And my art is often a bit...yeah... not for children's eyes?
YES THATS LITERALLY MY SCHOOL FRIENDS omy gooshh its annoying
I hate this so much, sometimes one of my schoolmates took my sketchbook from my hands with power and i couldn't do anything then she watched MY FUCKIN PERSONAL SKETCHES WITHOUT MY PERMISSION AND I WANTED TO DROWN AWAY and 'cause i'm introvert my best friend had to ask my sketchbook back.
And after that, my drawing was messy. 2 annoying in one case.
Lol I feel you but my story's kinda different. I had someone take my sketchbook and use it to hit another kid and I was mad for days. The cover got ripped (luckily it didn't fall off) T-T
Things that annoy the frick out of me:
1. *If it’s not realistic art, it’s not good art*
I don’t know if anyone else has had this problem before, but I have.
2. *Commissions*
I’m not saying I hate them, no not at all. And I said “HELL TO THE NAW.” And he never got a drawing again :)
3. *Old art*
Ok, say someone finds some of your old art, and then they say something like, “Why does it look like that?” “This isn’t good.” “What happened to it?” EVEN AFTER you tell them it is old art. It’s old art stupid! Of course it’s gonna look worse! And it doesn’t mean that’s what ALL my art looks like! And I already know that it looks bad. Thank you very much!
4. *Comparing*
I hate it when someone looks at your art and says, “____’s looks better.” WELL YOU COULD HAVE KEPT THAT TO YOURSELF.
I thought to myself, "is she fricking dumb??" I showed her a human drawing and was like "ohhh so do draw humans."
I hate people like that

Legit. Anything I draw at school while I was supposed to be doing something else looks 10x better than what I do at home. There must be some sort of scientific explanation for that
I have had three instances where that happened; and two involve what I think has good drawings of clouds. I’ve struggling to make a good design for a long time, and suddenly on math paper.... boom

@@spring2632 so you just can't accept criticism
I draw things in pencil all the time
I think the motivation thing always stems from comparing what you should be doing, to what you're already doing or would rather do.
