  • Who are the guys that I would be most concerned about sharing the ring with? This is including kickboxers from all weight classes and assuming I could adjust my height and weight to match them. There are for sure other fighters out there who are scary and would be a daunting task to face but it's these 3 in particular who really get my attention.
Study these guys and learn from them. It can only make you a better fighter.

Nevertheless one of the most amazing technical chess matches I witnessed in my life. Giorgio was only 21 at the time and was WMC intercontinental champ and Buakaw was reigning world champion and also reigning two time K1 champ in his prime at 25 yrs old. Masato was my favorite kickboxer. Dude had some of the best hands and a granite chin.
My 3 would be Buakaw, Semmy Schilt, Masaaki Noiri.

Masato, Souwer, Buakaw, Yodsenklai fought in the same, most competitive era ever. Andy Souwer to me is the best dutch kickboxer ever because there was a point in time in which he had beaten them all. Then came Petrosyan who drew with Buakaw and beat Souwer. in my opinion Petrosyan is the ultimate.

@@siegfrieddejong1836 All great names but Andy is the GOAT but its my opinion. Dekkers, although a great fighter, would not qualify because he never was THE number one in his weight in the world (he never did win a Stadium Title an d lost to Ballentine twice and to Danny Bill amonmg others) and Kaman (who competed in different modes of combat alwats had then likes of Theriault, Don Wilson and others and got beaten by a few Thai also (far lighter in weight). Hoost and Aerts have been number 1 in their weights but the middleweight class is far motre competetive than HW. Other great Dutch fighters are Hypolite, Simson, Mousid thsi list goes on and on

I'd love to see you in ONE FC with small gloves facing Nong-O.
You are taller but you have the same weight. Masato, Buakaw and Petrosyan are bigger, which means you would have to maybe compromise your cardio/speed.
Nong O is one of my favorite fighters ever, I'd love if you did a breakdown. I believe his fundamentals are amazing

Imo buakaw is the most complete muay thai and kickboxer i have ever seen. He is the complete fighter by having: speed, power, athleticism, tenacity, flexibility, stamina, toughness, skill and a high ring iq. His fighting style is the one i try to emulate the most when i am training or kicking the heavy bag. What a awesome fighter with a chiseled warrior like physique to go with his fighting style was just icing on the cake in his prime.

I got a question for you Gabriel. Do you think sweeping and throwing should be apart of kickboxing? I personally don't but, I don't compete. I only train. I think kickboxing should be only about the striking. Also do you think throws should be scored? Either in MT or KB. Where promotions like one championship are moving away from the extended clinch in an attempt to bring back golden age MT, I personally think the only way to bring MT out of it's silver age fighters need to bring back the spirit of old school Thai Boxing instead of restricting the ruleset. Also do you think the influx of farang fighters more or less caused nak muays to become more stagnant and use the clinch as a safe space instead of being more fluid in the clinch as in the golden era days? My theory is that because farang stylist like the European, Japanese, and Americans used so much boxing to force knockouts when they didn't know how to win decisions in Thailand and it forced them more traditional Nak Muays to stall or win their points in the clinch as opposed to the risky lower scoring punches and kicks. Also farang fighters were behind the curve in the clinch so it could just be that. The reason I asked is because I watched an interview with Samaart saying MT has a seemingly similar problem the western boxing is having right now. It's become a little boring stagnant and fighters are more worried their personal health not losing and their paycheck/gambling (paycheck in the case of boxing/gambling in the case of Muay Thai). I guess that was three questions but, these are all interesting topics to me. I'd like to hear a fighters opinion.

If pounds dont matter, and MT is allowed, then I would say Seanchai. The guy literally made a career off making professionals fighters look stupid in the ring. Petrosyan probably has cleaner technique, but Seanchai is just a natural killer. His reflexes. His speed. His ability to read attack patterns. He gets away with cartwheel kicks without getting countered. I cant say that about any other combat athlete.
