AI173 alternates between two planes. Boeing 777-300 which is the old plane that this video's poster was in and Boeing 777-200LR, which is the leased plane from Delta. That 777-200LR / B77L has the delta one suites in business class. A quick way to find out how is to look at business class seating from air india's website while booking, if its 1-2-1, its the Delta Leased plane (newer plane).

Air India service was better when it was operating under GOI. Even the food quality is worsened now. But hope is still alive.

Please do not hold/watch an unknown person's luggage in airport. I know someone who almost got imprisoned in Dubai on doing exactly this. That desi elderly lady refused that the bag was her and it had drugs.
    Two rules in airport
    1. Do not bring anything which you cannot carry
    2. Ask help from airport/airlines personal if required

Yep….horrendous….me and my wife Senior Citizens from Chennai traveled across to SFO via Delhi about a forthright ago…the very same flight perhaps…broken seat edges / uncomfortable stretch areas…fortunately we carried our own foods since we are vegetarian…am aghast after TATA’s taking over…long way to go

AI 173 DEL to SFO. On flight tracker, it is observed that first the flight goes towards East Russia (Siberia) and when it moves on the artic circle, the flight takes U-Turn, instead of descending towards USA west coast. It is surprising that after U-Turn it fly all over to Eurorpe, Greenland, then over Northern America and then decend to SFO. It is failed to understand as to why the flight don't take the eastern route via Japan???

With in last year Air India airplanes are slightly better, after TATA took over. In 2022 I went to same route, the seats were torn. Holes in the seat cloth. The recline button won't work, and seat always stays in back- relined. Touch screen did not even respond if touch. Old lady next to me moved back because seat was always reclined and torn. It was COVID regulations. Food served after boarding and two hours before landing. After food no tea or coffee. Only water! In the flight for 17 hours 12 hours NO FOOD. Only water bottles. When asked the stewardess, answer was "it covid" we do not serve food and even soft drinks!! Compared to that last month I took same flight, there was tea, coffee and even wine after the food service!! OfCourse the entertainment screen not working, sound plug not working are common problems even now. Only reason I took flight because my money goes to India owned airline and no hop, connecting flight hassle.

Pathetic! A boss of mine once told me to never leave the office without talking to a customer. Keeps you focused. he said. I suggest every AI Sr. Executive be forced to take at least one long haul AI flight, in economy class, every month. They need to file a trip report with the CEO. We'll probably see a month by month improvement of this unmitigated disaster. Hey there Air India CEO, what is more important: Combined corporate egos or customer happiness?
