Thank you ! For making this video! We have a happy habanero plant that gave us more peppers than we can use, and i need to preserve some of these. Thank you very muck!
Thank you so much for sharing. I will be doing it. Have alot of peppers and now I know what to do with them. Thank you so much. Ist time I see your channel. Love it. ♥️🧓😘
Thank you for sharing this recipe. I like peppers, but not real spicy ones, so I hope to try this with jalapenos. I am glad you commented about other peppers that could be used.
Your very welcome 😊 I am happy to share my family tradition with you❤ Yes the type of pepper is interchangeable. Use the one you like most. I am not a spicy gal either.
Since veggie and seed oils are the very worst thing to put in your body, I wonder if you could do this with avocado oil. I don't know if it thickens when you refrigerate it, but I may try it to see. Even if it does, it is worth the switch. Thank you for sharing this recipe!! I have way too many hot peppers right now, so perfect timing!!
Yes you can use avocado oil. If it solidifies in the fridge it is ok, it will still be delicious. I have used olive oil before, but right now the prices for olives is really high and has increased the cost for olive oil now. I haven't though of avocado oil. Thanks for that suggestion. I am glad this will help you preserve some of your harvest. If you have questions along the way, don't hesitate to ask. 😁👍
I don't have a name unfortunately. They are from seed my late father inlaw saved year after year. They are very hot. He is from Calabria so it has to be some sort of calabrian pepper. I am sure over the years it also has crossed. It is very productive plant. It is about 3 feet tall.
It seems to me like draining the water is a waiste of some yummy stuff and it seems likethey wouldnt get as hot after draining and adding the oil. But im not Spanish ither 😊😅. Thank you. We dont do such hot peppers the jalapeno is about as hot as we get lol. Then again im not Spanish. Thank you God Bless
Thank you so much for your comment. You can save the vinegar. I believe some people use it. I don’t bother with it as it is too hot for me. My husband is the chili lover. The oil is really hot. I can only dip my fork in it and use a few drops. It gets hotter over time. Thank you for watching my video and commenting. So nice to make nee friends. God Bless❤️🥰
Hi there✋ When the pepper is is ripe and is red in color, I split it open and place the seeds on a paper plate to dry out. When the are dry I put them in a old medicine bottle ...lol Now they are ready when I am to begin my plants in the spring. Thank you for stopping by and watching my video. ❤❤

I’ll be trying that with my second harvest of scotch bonnets next week. I recommend a knife upgrade!
@@GardenandGrub yeah, the one in this video is reminiscent of a dull hacksaw 🤣

What is the name of the chilli you use? Great video

Do you have a recipe to do something with long hot italian peppers?
I just do them the same way. Other than that I fry them or roast them to put them on sandwiches.
How do you save the seeds?

Great video! I will be using this next growing season. Thank you!😊
You can also use this process for marinated mushrooms
Yes and no. For mushrooms I do it slightly differently. However yes we do ;reserve them in oil, just the process changes.
What % of vinegar, does this need 5% ?
Yes 5%
Y’all ever add garlic, onion & Italian herbs?
No we have never added those to it. Traditionally you wouldn't have added those ingredients to it.
@@GardenandGrub I’ll be experimenting with this!
This is the same process you do with eggplant except you add garlic, oregano and hot peppers
Yes I do preserve eggplants as well. Yummy!
