Aakzar yeah you are right...but we do need to find our own power and force inside of each of us. Obviously having someone else out there helping you and supporting you it’s obviously amazing though, but we really need to believe ourselves and genuinely trust and find our own and unique power before getting to need somebody else’s. We need to learn how to love ourselves and trust ourselves, and mainly know ourselves before anything or anyone, for then get to share our problems and faults with someone else. I always think of my wife when I hear this song. I went through some pretty bad stuff as a child which left with some emotional scars. My wife has held my hand and helped me through everything. She’s been with me through countless therapy sessions and held me on those times when I broke down and cried. Fixing me has been her mission from the beginning, and her commitment to me drives me to keep moving forward, because the WORST thing in the world would be to let her down.

6 years later and this song hits quite differently. I have had chronic anxiety and depression for a long time. My recent boyfriend really helped me get back on my feet again. For a period of time I didn’t feel anything and lost my passions and interests. Until I met him. He helped me seek help and regain the confidence I needed. In my mind, he is my light because he guided me to a comforting place; home. He helped me become happy again, as well as better. When I listened to this 6 years ago, I was sad because I thought I would never be better than I was back then. Now? I smile. Because I’m so much happier. Home is being beside my boyfriend. To anyone reading this: Don’t give up hope. I know it might be long, and it’s hard. But please, keep going. The road of life has so much for you, so much positivity, and so much light.

I love that you said this. Thank you. I grew up with both my grandma and my mom telling me and listening to “The Beatles”. I was on the “U2” era and I never gave Coldplay a chance. My distain for Gwyneth Paltrow kept me from even listening to Coldplay because C Martin was married to her. Blows my mind but she really turned a lot of people off during her popularity hight. I know, lame reason to have not listened to them. As I now sing, it’s the herder of my soul, I am always looking for those “beatle” like songs that move me. Coldplay is one treat some after another. I went through severe depression, and I felt like no one would love me. It got worse when one of the people who bullied me said, "You know he'll never love you, right?" When the bully said that, it really put it into perspective. It's been about a year or two-ish since then. I still battle with depression, PTSD, and anxiety, but a lot of things are different now, and it isn't as severe anymore. Me and the guy are still friends, and one thing has changed, I can't see him as more than a friend now. He is one of my best friend still, and he hasn't treated me any different than before. When I was going through my depression, he would give me reassurance, and make sure I was okay. I had really bad suicidal thoughts, and you may be thinking, "Just because he didn't have the same feelings for you?" Well, yes. That's one reason, but it was because no one had ever talked to me the way he did. The way he talked to me was so nice, and he made me happy, and I wanted to be happy forever, then I realized he couldn't be mine, and all my happiness was stripped from me. Everything is different now. I'm moving on with my life. I'm thinking about college, and my degree, and where I want to live later on in life. If I can, I would like to become a singer so I could help people with my songs, and my music. This song was there for me, and I cried along with it when I was going through that tough time. Today, I didn't cry with it. I have become stronger now. Just remember that you are strong. You can do this. There is someone out there for you. Just take your time, and don't worry

i lived with depression until i got my girlfriend then it went away. then it started to come back and she saw i was depressed and kept asking me to show her my wrists. when i showed the 1 wrist to her she said she wanted to see the other 1 too. and i had 5 cuts on my wrist. i started to make a noose. then she convinced me to open up. im now feeling better but still depressed as my granddad passed away 3 years ago. this will be the 4th Christmas with out him. R.I.P Granddad. i love you.
i was rushed to hospital 3 days after i was born with pneumonia and collapsed lungs and i have photos of me in hospital because they thought i wouldnt make it , thankfully i did and this song was playing over and over again, and the words match up to my family and everyone around me who knew me and loved me, i have to watch out because if i hit my head i become unconscious and stop breathing so i cant play football etc. , i started basketball but i cant do alot incase i hit my head, it kinda sucks when you cant do alot of things because of that. i used to also hate going on school trips incase i stop breathing and my mum isn't there to help me, so in primary i started to get social anxiety and not want to go anywhere which made me loose alot of friends but my bestfriend aleesha stayed with me, its a little bit better because of my bestfriend aleesha she has known me since we where babies. i have been going to a few trips now but i missed out on alot, i am now in 2 year, and whenever i feel down or upset i play this and just think about my life and how lucky i am to be alive , and to have a friend who helped me alot.

Hey guys I just remember listening to this song two years ago when my mom was right in the middle of having cancer and just crying and feeling so alone. I was so depressed to be honest, there was a time when I would just wonder what would happen if I got run over and passed away. But I kept going and put my trust in Jesus and two years later my mom is fine, I live in a different place, and I am receiving Gods blessings in my life daily. It’s not perfect, but it has gotten so much incredibly better, for all the people that are hurting out there, God is there for you and loves you, I love you, and stay in there because God has a plan for your life. I accidentally turned this on as I was turning on my sleep music (I pressed the wrong tab) and tbh things rn aren’t going the way I planned, and listening to this honestly is making me feel a bit better, despite the fact I listen to it every day. It’s the little things like this that make me feel better about myself, even when it feels like no one else is here for me. I’d like to thank Coldplay for making this song, because of how expressive this is. I also used this song in a presentation about my life a few weeks ago, and even though I was crying this song just gives me a sense of safety. So thank you Coldplay.
Listening to this reminds me that we are all complaining about social distancing and being stuck inside, when most of us don't know the feeling of losing someone we know and love to the virus. Sure, 1 million out of 7 billion doesn't seem a lot, but it is. All those people didn't get to finish their life peacefully, with their family. They had to die alone in quarantine. Social distancing keeps us from having that pain, keeps us safe. Be grateful that you have that chance, unlike so many others.

I cried almost 3-4 years ago to this song because my first love broke my heart. It hurt like a bitch but when I listen to this song, I only remember losing my cousin 2 years ago... Eric Romberger stick it out. Your situation is very special because you both ended on healthy terms. If you give her the space she needs, if it’s meant to be, she’ll come back. You must fight for her though. If this isn’t the case then you need to begin the process of moving on. Which is so hard because you will ponder the what if’s and the past memories. You will cry about the things you can no longer do with her. It’s gunna be tough. She clearly wants you and cares for you so this situation can be fixed. Don’t attack or lash out at her, comfort her.

I always think of my wife when I hear this song. I went through some pretty bad stuff as a child which left with some emotional scars. My wife has held my hand and helped me through everything. She’s been with me through countless therapy sessions and held me on those times when I broke down and cried. Fixing me has been her mission from the beginning, and her commitment to me drives me to keep moving forward, because the WORST thing in the world would be to let her down.

6 years later and this song hits quite differently.
I have had chronic anxiety and depression for a long time. My recent boyfriend really helped me get back on my feet again. For a period of time I didn’t feel anything and lost my passions and interests. Until I met him. He helped me seek help and regain the confidence I needed. In my mind, he is my light because he guided me to a comforting place; home. He helped me become happy again, as well as better.
When I listened to this 6 years ago, I was sad because I thought I would never be better than I was back then. Now? I smile. Because I’m so much happier. Home is being beside my boyfriend.
To anyone reading this: Don’t give up hope. I know it might be long, and it’s hard. But please, keep going. The road of life has so much for you, so much positivity, and so much light.

I used to have a crush on this guy. One day, I decided to tell him. He said he didn't feel the same way, but he saw me as a very good friend. I went through severe depression, and I felt like no one would love me. It got worse when one of the people who bullied me said, "You know he'll never love you, right?" When the bully said that, it really put it into perspective. It's been about a year or two-ish since then. I still battle with depression, PTSD, and anxiety, but a lot of things are different now, and it isn't as severe anymore. Me and the guy are still friends, and one thing has changed, I can't see him as more than a friend now. He is one of my best friend still, and he hasn't treated me any different than before. When I was going through my depression, he would give me reassurance, and make sure I was okay. I had really bad suicidal thoughts, and you may be thinking, "Just because he didn't have the same feelings for you?" Well, yes. That's one reason, but it was because no one had ever talked to me the way he did. The way he talked to me was so nice, and he made me happy, and I wanted to be happy forever, then I realized he couldn't be mine, and all my happiness was stripped from me. Everything is different now. I'm moving on with my life. I'm thinking about college, and my degree, and where I want to live later on in life. If I can, I would like to become a singer so I could help people with my songs, and my music. This song was there for me, and I cried along with it when I was going through that tough time. Today, I didn't cry with it. I have become stronger now. Just remember that you are strong. You can do this. There is someone out there for you. Just take your time, and don't worry

i lived with depression until i got my girlfriend then it went away. then it started to come back and she saw i was depressed and kept asking me to show her my wrists. when i showed the 1 wrist to her she said she wanted to see the other 1 too. and i had 5 cuts on my wrist. i started to make a noose. then she convinced me to open up. im now feeling better but still depressed as my granddad passed away 3 years ago. this will be the 4th Christmas with out him. R.I.P Granddad. i love you.

Hey guys I just remember listening to this song two years ago when my mom was right in the middle of having cancer and just crying and feeling so alone. I was so depressed to be honest, there was a time when I would just wonder what would happen if I got run over and passed away. But I kept going and put my trust in Jesus and two years later my mom is fine, I live in a different place, and I am receiving Gods blessings in my life daily. It’s not perfect, but it has gotten so much incredibly better, for all the people that are hurting out there, God is there for you and loves you, I love you, and stay in there because God has a plan for your life. Such a cruel disease. Broke my heart to watch you go through it but 7 months I slepted by your side and held your hand finally brought us as close together as we should have been. I cried almost 3-4 years ago to this song because my first love broke my heart. It hurt like a bitch but when I listen to this song, I only remember losing my cousin 2 years ago... That's one of the worst pains of all. Point is, the ones we love are usually the ones who break us when we try to fix them or wish we could fix what went wrong even though it was too late.
I really Needed this song in my life right now. Im sitting here cryin about how my life was not going according to plan. when this song made me realize I was losing faith in myself. I'm currently in Collage so im really struggling. Then I realized thanks to the song that the whole reason why i wanted to be in collage was so that I can be proud of myself for accomplishing another goal.

1 year, not a single fight. both of us so in love, she asked for a break and it lasted 24 hours before she said can I end this I miss you. I said of course and I missed her too. 2 days later it happens again and she wants a break and its to work on herself and nothing I did. she said you always made me feel loved and safe and appreciated and cherished. But im not happy with myself and she doesn't exactly love herself and feels guilty because she knows she hasn't been giving me the same amount of attention or love as usual, so she feels like shes not taking care of me I told her its okay and we will get through our highs and lows together because I will love her through everything. No normal break up consists of over 2 hours of talking, holding hands and hugging and kissing. I know she still loves me. and I was also her first. I feel so blindsided... Im yelling in my sleep and my life is empty without her. I pray every night that she comes back to me, because she just said she needs time. if anyone has a comment, I could really use some support
Eric Romberger stick it out. Your situation is very special because you both ended on healthy terms. If you give her the space she needs, if it’s meant to be, she’ll come back. You must fight for her though. If this isn’t the case then you need to begin the process of moving on. Which is so hard because you will ponder the what if’s and the past memories. You will cry about the things you can no longer do with her. It’s gunna be tough. She clearly wants you and cares for you so this situation can be fixed. Don’t attack or lash out at her, comfort her.
Make her happy, help her do your best to do any thing that will bring back her happiness, comfort her and give her space...
