FIRST ROUND FIX: when you load the last round in the magazine instinct has you pointing the bullet straightforward. It needs to be pointing at the opposite angle of the other one, just like they would be feeding. This will fix it 100% of the time.
This is a great weapon. I'm trained on the Sig 226 and the M4 as my personal weapons, but I chose this as my home defense weapon. The use of plastic isn't a problem; if you can feel flex in the trigger (it's just a 4-pound pull), you're squeezing it too hard. The print version of this review suggests this weapon is a bit of a toy, but you could stop a grizzly bear with 20 rounds of rapid-fire 22lr if you had to. I selected this for home defense because 22lr is (normally) cheap and readily available, and my petite wife can handle this weapon with no problem. I added a TLR-4 light/laser to make target acquisition/aiming in a nighttime emergency that much easier. And, personally, I think it looks really cool.
I bought two of these $50 magazines, and the speedloader to go with them... And I don't even own the pistol yet, but it's gonna be my first firearm sometime soon!
@@ericbergfield6451 that's awesome. I picked one up about 2 months ago. It's freaking awesome. I put a vortex venom, farrow tech brace, and TK comp. The 50 rd extensions work great. Its quickly become one of my favorites
Anyone having feed issues: make sure you take extra care in loading the magazines or you'll get rimlock. If you load the mags correctly you should have 0 issues, mine worked fine right of the box with no oil. Best 22LR handgun on the market in my opinion, I can't believe I'm saying this; I like it more than my Ruger standard(from 1950 with red eagle grips), I never thought I'd find a 22 pistol I like more than my Ruger!
I've heard nothing but bad press on the Glock 44. Also a glock guy here. Own 6 of them. Bought the kel tec. Hopefully he does well and yes it's a he because he's hard and long but light ;)
I found one for a bargain. First, READ THE MANUAL! It clearly says do not slingshot the bolt on an empty chamber. Another thing in the manual it m❤ay take up to 8-9 times using the mags to break them in. The feed ramp is actually on the magazine. Keltec recommends the American Speed Loader. They sell it and Amazon did. Really easy to use. It is great out of the box! But I found a Reflex sight 🎉for almost nothing with tactile adjustments! Through a compensator and an FS1913 Brace on it. The Brace is probably over the top. What a hoot to shoot!
The only thing bout Kel Tec is that they produce niche stuff that don't become mainstream, and therefore not a heavy aftermarket support is behind em'.
The failure to feed on the first round is talked about in the manual.....you failed to read the manual and you loaded the mags wrong. I haven't shot mine yet but have read the manual and it's stated very clearly with colored photos that this can occur if mags are not loaded properly.
@@180SecondIdeas Can’t argue with that I guess. I used to shoot well with a different grip too. Then I learned there are better ways to do things. It’s good to be open-minded about things.
I bought a CP33 yesterday. Spent 4 hrs. last night loading and unloading different rounds trying to get it to feed the first round. It never did, not once. I also ordered the American SpeedLoaders CP-33 Nest Style SpeedLoader. Should be in first of next week. I pray this fixes the problem.
Cheaply made gun. Mine is just too unreliable, for several reasons. There are much better options out there. Right now I think the new Taurus XT22 competition is the best value. Just my opinion based on experience.
On my way out the door to go buy the all black model. Sportsmans has one hanging on the wall in the middle of a gun/ammo shortage. Go figure. I'll be looking into what I heard was a 3rd party mag mod piece that brings the capacity to 50 rounds. $499, no shipping, no FFL transfer fee makes it $65 cheaper than Buds. Thanks Joe Biden for the dinaro to buy this gun and a couple bricks of ammo to break it in.
Take a drink every time Johnny says 'plastic' - we're sorry in advance 🍻

Well the way 2020 is going. I'm gonna wind up an alcoholic anyway.
I only counted 7 drinks necessary. That’s a typical Thursday in my household since the Pandemic hit. 😏

$50 for a plastic mag??? Literally eff you, KelTec.

The back sticks out sooo far the gun looks like a T, hate it
But 66 rounds?! That is cool
It's a trunk. It holds 50 rounds, a cleaning kit and a Phillips stubby driver for all them Phillips screws.

No.

True, in life, when all else fails, follow the F-ing DIRECTIONS.
Imagine carrying this appendix
Use federal 36 grain and u won't have the first round load problem
I don't trust that charging handle. It could have so easily been all metal but they decided to make it over molded plastic
You are truly likable as a person.
Not gonna buy a KELTEC... just saying.
It's not much of a looker but I applaud the effort to make something new with 33 rounds.....take note Glock.
66?!?! 22 caliber buzzsaw.
Damn, how is your magazine so loose in the grip? Mine is really tight.
Personally I think this pewpew screams for a brace. Toss in a forward handgrip and your talking
Did both of those things to mine & u are correct, made it just that much more awsome

These "competition guns" are the soy bois of the gun world. Literally the last thing I would want to rely on in a fight.
They're meant for competition use. That's like saying a race car is a "soy boi" vehicle because it's not made for offroad trips.
Also.... Stand in front of one!
