I had a chance to visit Andy's home in Manteo NC a couple of years ago. It was great to see and touch some of his treasures he collected over the years!

It is nice to see what the cast and the crew did between various takes on the sets of The Andy Griffith Show. I have to thank the Howard family for these fine home movies.

There's no drugs. , everybody's dressed in a suit. Neat clean, presentable. Can It be like that again?

This show has been an all time favorite of mine. At the age of 53 we watch at least 3 episodes everyday and warms our hearts to know what true American values were, share in the love for the AGS. For the younger parents, get them watching shows like this, keep the memories going and perhaps someone in Hollywood will figure out what America is all about and produce a modern version of good wholesome family values!

This was the America that I remember so well from my childhood in the late 1950's through the 1960's. I loved the episode about Barney's new car. Barney's assignment of car seating is hilarious, "Now that takes care of the back seat. I'll drive, so I'll sit in the front seat."
I've noticed that when some tv stations air that episode, they cut out the scene where Barneys assigns seating positions the car. Before the commercial you see Mrs Lesh and her nephew take off in the white Ford Fairlane wagon. Goes to commercial then when the show comes back on they are in the car and pulling out of Andy's driveway. So you don't see that particular scene.

I guess if I had one it would be Mr, McBeavey (?) episode. I have my 3 yr old granddaughter that watches the show with me. Now a choice between sponge-bob and Andy Griffith she always says Andy. I think she has a crush on Opie. Great show... Until recently, I did not know that Bill Bixby (Hulk), Bob Denver (Gillian), Barbara Eden (Jeanie), Sterling Holloway (voice of Pooh), Denver Pyle (Uncle Jesse, DoHazzard), Buddy Ebsen (Uncle Jed Clampett) and a lot of others played parts on the show. I recently saw and didn’t realize that Elinor “Ellie Walker” Donahue played the lady who helped Julia Roberts get her clothes in Pretty Woman...
Pretty much in 1971. CBS did a purge of all these shows. Green Acres, Beverly Hillbilly, Petticoat Junction, Andy Griffith were cancelled to make way for All in the Family, Maude, Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart.
I wonder if Ron Howard was shown the scene were he slide down the hill towards the beginning of this if he would remember that far back? This is great - takes me back to simpler times. - thanks.
I'm 14 and love this show. When did these type of shows stop being made?
Pretty much in 1971. CBS did a purge of all these shows. Green Acres, Beverly Hillbilly, Petticoat Junction, Andy Griffith were cancelled to make way for All in the Family, Maude, Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart.
They stopped being made When people got stupid!
I’m 45 and they were made before my time also. I think we all wish we could live in Mayberry, at one time or another.
Seeing Ron and his little brother just amazing.
I wonder if Ron Howard was shown the scene were he slide down the hill towards the beginning of this if he would remember that far back? They brought a lot of laughs and happiness to countless AMERICANS including myself and there was usually a lesson on every episode......
Thank You for creating this video.....
BIG RON🇺🇸
and thank you Howard family for sharing!
That hay slide looks fun.
Amazing show, and what a cast of actors.
Thank you Howard family!

Thanks..I enjoyed your video.

Thanks, Mr. Howard. These are wonderful movies. I've always enjoyed Mayberry with its array of funny characters. I just love ol' Barney, Andy, Opie, Aunt Bee, Floyd, Goober, Gomer, Thelma Lou, Warren, and all the others. Great to see you and that cowboy Leon.
I agree with you
What a great time to be a kid.
