Thank you so much for posting this. What a treat it is to have a look back behind the scenes and see the people who created the characters they portrayed. Even without sound, you can still see them as real people. I've been all over Upper Franklin Canyon Reservoir, and it's nothing like it was back then. Access is restricted mostly to the paved roads they've made through there, and I'm not even sure you can get to the spot where they filmed the opening scenes for the show. Such a shame, because it's the one beautiful nook of the San Fernando Valley that's tucked away from all the filth and excessive development, and they don't let you have a picnic by the reservoir anymore. I loved the episode about Barney's new car. Barney's assignment of car seating is hilarious, "Now that takes care of the back seat. I'll drive, so I'll sit in the front seat."
I've noticed that when some tv stations air that episode, they cut out the scene where Barneys assigns seating positions the car. Before the commercial you see Mrs Lesh and her nephew take off in the white Ford Fairlane wagon. Goes to commercial then when the show comes back on they are in the car and pulling out of Andy's driveway. So you don't see that particular scene.
