Thanks for this video. From your summer shot of the Maid loading area it looks like the ice is 20 to 30 foot deep,is that about right? I always come in the summer, so when do they stop the Mist tours? February 27,2019 the Weather Channel said the lakes were 97 percent covered with ice, when the ice starts to break up I hope you have some time to get some ice coming over the falls. Joe in Dunedin,Florida it’s in the 80s I already have the AC on.
Glad you liked it! The Hornblower ferry boats usually stop Nov-Dec, reopen in Mar Apr. Yes, the ice here is at least 30 ft high; also, dont forget, there's more below the water line, and, the Ice Bridge isn't floating ice, it's built up from below, from bank-to-bank, and the river still flows underneath. The Ice Bridge seen here is actually 'born' in Lake Erie - that's where most of the ice chunks which comprise the Ice Bridge originate. It''s an interesting phenomenon.
