Watching your “Dupe the Vibes” videos have really helped me not buy makeup. Not just eyeshadow, but all types of makeup. That and the idea that I already have my favorite version of what I am drawn to in the “new” product. So I find it much easier to talk myself out of new products when I also ask myself how is this better than what I already have and how/what way would I use it. Thank you for your videos.
You should definitely consider duping the palette in an overhead video. But ya know, I love those. The sped up Clickety-clack of you depotting and placing shades is the only ASMR I ever want
I haven't bought a new palette in over a year but a sweet long distance friend of mine sent me the pictures when they dropped & we realized the palette is an exact mix of our preferences 🤭 so we split the cost & when it arrives, I'll take out my half of the shades & send her the rest ☺ we spent $13 & both got just what we wanted. I'm excited!
if anyone has the So Jaded palette, this is exactly the same palette essentially, just in a different layout in the palette. it’s what they’re using to replace that discontinued one.
Ah, interesting. I have no intention of ordering from Colorpop and getting slammed with import duties, tax and shipping to get it to me in the UK, but this and the So Jaded palettes are the only ones that have tempted me to break my resolve.
@@estellehowell4414 I've never paid import duties or tax on colourpop orders to the UK, and shipping is about 7 to 10 pounds if you order less than 50 dollars worth and I've ordered loads of colourpop to the UK. I have a burning question I have wanted to ask for a while, I really appreciate your take on using what you have, cultivating a collection that’s extraordinary to you and not just hoarding onto mediocre products. I appreciate your condense collection that satisfies your needs. The question I have is would you have been as successful with your no buy, low buys if you were not on beauty TH-cam, where you do receive PR and gifts that satisfy that newness itch whether you keep it or not? I can imagine that the willingness to buy something new isn’t just for the product itself but for the feeling of something new and exciting, and can imagine it be difficult for those who were not receiving anything. Where strictly the only time you would purchase items was when you’re purchasing for yourself and not from others. Sorry for the loaded question 💙
This video convinced me that this palette would actually be a great purchase for me! As soon as you flashed it on the screen, I was in love with the colors. I'm trying to grow my singles collection a little more, and I'm resolved to only buy eyeshadow palettes with removable pans. In the past, I really heavily considered buying some of those Kaleidos palettes you showed, but decided they weren't the right fit for me and my collection. So to reverse engineer this video, I basically saw you explain how this Colourpop palette could give me similar vibes to all 3 of those Kaleidos products I've had my eye on! Thanks so much for this video!
Last year I was CRAVING the Ace Beaute Flair palette. Even though I often wear neutrals, there was something so appealing about the color story. I picked up crochet last year and decided to dupe the vibes of the palette using yarn. It was a lovely distraction, however I did finally give in this year and buy it. While I am happy to have it (the murky greens are fabulous), it confirmed for me that it was purely the color story I fell in love with - not how I would use it or how it would look on me.
I'm not embarrassed to say I stop living my life to watch your vids.... Like completely become unavailable to my husband and kids bahahaha. I don't do that for anything (unless it's a serious situation). Your "duping the vibes" and all other content provide an actual reprieve for me. Love this 🥳🥰
I’m in my late 30s and I got into makeup just last year. Needless to say, I don’t have any high-end makeup and so for my birthday this month, I have been planning to buy Natasha Denona’s tropic palette as I’m very interested in the blues and greens and I can use neutral shades for work. I’ve been planning this since last 6 months and now I feel like a deflated balloon after reading reviews of hard panned those blues and greens are. Now my birthday is in few days and I don’t know what to gift myself when I was looking forward to buy my first high-end makeup palette. What you said in the last part of the video resonated with me even though I haven’t bought the palette.
I completely relate to that feeling. Oftentimes, I don’t even want the product itself, I want the IDEA of the product. I want the marketing, the color story, the mood of the makeup product. I want the illusion of becoming the person that would rock that item. Butttt I know what I love, I already have too much to get through, and I can oftentimes dupe the product. I love these videos to remind me that I don’t need to buy something new to try something new.
Yes. I wanted and wanted and wanted a pat McGrath palette. Then I got it and its the one palette I use the least. Just today, I wanted the Natasha Denona zendo (now that's 30% off) but I already own Born to Run. So thank you for saving me from myself!!!
Haha I also responded to the palette this way. Wanted to buy it, realised I only want the murky greens, and then remembered I already own those in singles 😂 End of wanting the palette. It is very beautiful as a palette though.
Somehow everyone’s saying ru-FIE with authority but I prefer your REE-fie or REFF-ee. But at least maybe we can all agree it’s a dumb name. In any case I just got an email from them offering a partial refund (REE-fund?) for the stuff I bought from her site in exchange for a Sephora review. Hmm. Shady?
I love jewel tones and I love the colours of that palette, but I have them all, plus, I don't like pressed glitters. If those glitters were metallics tho...
You have fully inspired me to make a big custom palett of depoted shadows and indie singles. I used to crave the lovely new color assortments of palettes but now I know that what I have is already perfect for me. I even find many premade palettes to be boring or ugly or just basic. It is a lovely feeling to know that I have enough. Or if I don't at some point, I can just purchase one single to satisfy the urge. Even so I don't think I'll need to purchase more shadow for years! Maybe even makeup in general. Like the acrylic paints that I've had for years, no need to purchase more if I can mix the colors I already have to make any color I want. For a long time it was the delight of a new shiny thing that got me. Now the thing that gets me the most is knowing that I have all that I need to create and play. Now makeup, once a costly joy, is free! Free in the sense of money. Free in the sense of external influence. Free to use my creativity to make any look I desire!
This palette captured me for the SAME REASONS. I want to add those murky grunge colors into my singles collection and play! But i absolutely plan on duping the vibes because for one I don’t actually use those murky colors often (i love having them and playing) and two I have al those neutral shades and enough shadow to cover the shades i do want.
I went into this video feeling very whatever about that palette, then you sold me on it by talking about what you love about the colors. But I took out my depotted eyeshadows as you were deciding what to do and realized I kind of have enough similar-ish colors so I don't need it. So it was a journey, thank you. ;)
I find this pallette so beautiful and intriguing as well! But when I looked at my limited collection to see if I really needed it I noticed it is like an expanded version of the Raw Beauty Kristi pallette from last fall, which I already have and love! So it makes sense that I was drawn to this new one, but at the same time I really don't need it. Loved watching you dupe the vibes!! Thanks for the inspiration ☺️
great video as always. I had the "let down" you talked about with a viseart palette. I coveted that thing for like a year, took the plunge and bought it, and i'm a bit disappointed (because some of the shades are muddy and not working out the way I thought). The wanting was for sure more than the having.
Omg literally just screenshotted this palette from Angie's video so I could also dupe the vibes 🤩😍😁💖 Also, edit: you look like an actual painting in the end 💞
Tbh when in saw this thumbnail I was really surprised cause I was like "this... Does not seem like an HLP palette... I'm really surprised that she wants it." And then... Haha But I do think there is something really satisfying and alluring about a well-put together color story that kinda makes us go "it's beautiful, so I want it." But with makeup a lot of us need to*do* something with it. So I think this exercise of trying to make yourself do something with it before you buy it is super smart and helpful! You go, Hannah!
I did a double take for this palette but it really did remind me Kathleen's palette and I passed on that numerous times when contemplating buying it, and this palette remind me so much of it. I do like the olive tones but what really pulls my attention is the purples and I find that so often I really don't actually like purple shadows and much as I want to. The blues catch my eye because I do love blue. Even that tone of blue. But I like it in my wardrobe, not necessarily on my face. The last palette I duped the vibes of due to this strong of a lust for is the tinkerbell palette. I can dupe everything but the pinks spot on and even the pinks I can whip something together for. Truth is I just don't love pink eyeshadow and I likely wouldn't feel that much different about those pinks than I feel about every other pink shade I'd try. They also kind of read a bit mauve and there is only so much mauve I want in my collection. Sometimes I have a moment with it, but I don't need 50 mauve shadows. I did also dupe the vibes of the flower punk palette, but that was because I finally got curious enough to try the color story. I knew that anything I would enjoy from that palette, I own. I just never would have put them together like that. It was absolutely beautiful. I really do appreciate Kaleidos innovating a new color concept that actually does work well, but that no one is doing. It truly did inspire me to play. Eventually. Originally I was like... what even is this? Who asked for this?! Lol.
One thing about this for me, particularly with eyeshadow, is often I am drawn to colors I don't want to actually wear as makeup. I just think the colors and color combinations are beautiful. I has to get real with myself about that and recognize what colors I actually enjoy on my eyes.
This was exactly the vidéo I needed!! I must admit that I still want it though! I will have to dupe the vibe with my stash to completely get rid of the sentiment! It did work with the zendo palette I duped. Always love your content!!
Since I just had to re-up on almost ALL of my skincare, whether I'd buy this palette or not wasn't even a question, but... I absolutely FEEL YOU on the delight I got looking at this palette. It is everything I love in neutral & colourful shades. But that is exactly why I don't need it -- I have the shades I love & use often. And the ones I don't have, I can think on them again later down the line & see if I actually want them. Like... It took me ages of lusting after UD Stoned Vibes & BH Blueberry Muffin to finally get them. But when I did, I got them on sale AND I use them almost every time I do my eyeshadow! I was certain they were for me. Anyway, this look is BEAUTIFUL!! As soon as my skincare gets here & I'm not hopelessly textured & flaky, I'll be duping the vibes of this vibe you duped. 💕
I ended up buying this on sale, because I just don’t have those colors at all. I really did think it through before I hit “buy.” Which is the point. Now neutral cool eye palettes, I have way too many of. 😱😱😱
Ahh I have that same cup lol ! I def drink more but I hate that it’s so heavy and that I have to hand wash because the top tub of my DW isn’t tall enough to accommodate it
That feeling of “wanting it until you actually get it” is exactly how I felt about the Kathleen Lights Colourpop palette which I think is SOO similar to this palette. Interesting 🧐
I know this is completely off topic however… I am currently rewatching your no buy year. I wonder if you have ever tried the vitamin C serum from Timeless? 20% in ferulic acid? It’s also very interesting to watch just the evolution of character and maturity in just that year. I’m on my way!
It doesn’t fit the one in my new car 😢 it spilled 3 times and then I had to put it between my legs for the rest of the way. Plus it’s gigantic and heavy. It’s a home-only cup for me now.
I've had single eyeshadows that I didn't like on me, MAC Woodwinked being a case in point. I've even had a single shadow in a palette not work on me. I remember it was a baby pink (can't remember the finish), and I think it may have been from a Jane Cosmetics quad from the late 90s or early 2000s? But I put that on my lids and thought I looked like a mouse. I don't think I've ever owned a full palette where none of the shades in it worked on me, though.
Hannah, I have loved your content since your year of no buy. Your eye looks are always so well designed and executed. I discovered Natasha Denona's beautiful eye palettes watching your channel. So, a question. It appears the Gold Palette is gone. It's not listed on Denona's website. It's not listed as out of stock - it's gone. It's gone from Sephora's and Beautylish's websites as well. Do you or your viewers know anything about this? I am completely despondent at the possibility that the Gold palette is gone from our lives for good...
I somehow missed that you posted a new patreon video. Eek! Gonna go watch now :) Edit: I didn't miss a video. Looking forward to seeing this post when it is up though!
Hi beautiful. Love these videos where you do your makeup. Love your content. Congrats on getting married(in advance). Can you do some financial videos? How to save etc
I am "tempted" to buy a few eyeshadow palettes here and there, but I see swatches and like can dupe many of the colors or they just aren't the colors I want. Ok, so example time. I see that new ColourPop and Tinker Bell palette. When I first saw the palette on IG I was like it's pretty, but I wouldn't buy it for myself, but if someone bought it for me I would use it. I then saw Ulta put up to buy this week. I was like do I want to use Ulta points and get it? I looked at swatches again of it and I want that shimmery shade that's the tealish green. That's the only shade I want in the whole palette! Everything other shade I have dupes for or I just don't want that color, so I don't own anything similar. I really am finding that I love color stories for what they are and that's it. I have so many eyeshadows (in palettes, singles or depotted and turned into singles) that I feel really disenchanted in buying any eyeshadow at all. I'm just not very interested at this point. Financially too, I'm in a different head space, so I'm like I definitely don't want to buy eyeshadow for myself on top of the disenchantment because of that too.
I really wanted the Tinkerbell palette but the only thing I can't dupe the vibes of it the palette are the pinks and that is just because I don't like those shades. But man is she pretty.

I saw that oliv-y gold on the bottom left and IMMEDIATELY though: oh that’s gonna be the first thing to be grabbed
:)
I wanted it too, but I checked my Autumn’s Reign… and Norn’s and that satisfied my craving 😍
I always read Refy in the same pronunciation as defy - it’s interesting to hear how people pronounce the same simple word so differently.
Haha I also responded to the palette this way. Wanted to buy it, realised I only want the murky greens, and then remembered I already own those in singles 😂
End of wanting the palette.
It is very beautiful as a palette though.
You inspired me a while ago to dupe the vibes of a different palette, and it was really helpful to realize that I had the shades I would use in it!
Hmm. Shady?
That is shady.
Ew, I don't like that...
I love jewel tones and I love the colours of that palette, but I have them all, plus, I don't like pressed glitters. If those glitters were metallics tho...
This palette reminds me of the Subculture palette but hopefully it would actually be a useable formula
So helpful to curb my buying!!
This got me too. Your channel really helps motivate me to dupe the vibes too instead of purchasing!
Today was so awful. Thank you for the video Hannah. I love your duping the vibes videos. It's so relaxing and exciting
That cup! Holy wow
Omg literally just screenshotted this palette from Angie's video so I could also dupe the vibes 🤩😍😁💖
Also, edit: you look like an actual painting in the end 💞
gosh i love these vids so much
Tbh when in saw this thumbnail I was really surprised cause I was like "this... Does not seem like an HLP palette... I'm really surprised that she wants it." And then... Haha
But I do think there is something really satisfying and alluring about a well-put together color story that kinda makes us go "it's beautiful, so I want it." But with makeup a lot of us need to*do* something with it. So I think this exercise of trying to make yourself do something with it before you buy it is super smart and helpful!
You go, Hannah!
Oh my god, I was about to do this with the its a mood palette too!! I was so taken with this one! 🖤🖤
Lol.
The idea of wanting the fantasy, then we get the object & realize that's not what the object gives us. It's been on my mind lately.
Sooooooo stunning!!
Refy rhymes with defy x
I want the new Colourpop palette but I know I dont need it. I also saw Profusion's website today and their Paradise palette gives similiar vibes
I know this is completely off topic however… I am currently rewatching your no buy year. I wonder if you have ever tried the vitamin C serum from Timeless? 20% in ferulic acid? It’s also very interesting to watch just the evolution of character and maturity in just that year. I’m on my way!
Nice Thumbnail Wording...Very Nice 👌🏼👌🏼
Paused to order the water bottle in the dark green! It looks perfect. And it will fit in a cup holder.
It doesn’t fit the one in my new car 😢 it spilled 3 times and then I had to put it between my legs for the rest of the way. Plus it’s gigantic and heavy. It’s a home-only cup for me now.
Girl, me toooooo!
Love these videos! It reminds me to ask myself “am I attracted to the advertising or the product itself?”
"those pukey poopy colors" LOL
I've had single eyeshadows that I didn't like on me, MAC Woodwinked being a case in point.
I've even had a single shadow in a palette not work on me. I remember it was a baby pink (can't remember the finish), and I think it may have been from a Jane Cosmetics quad from the late 90s or early 2000s? But I put that on my lids and thought I looked like a mouse.
I don't think I've ever owned a full palette where none of the shades in it worked on me, though.
I have this water bottle in baby blue! 😂 It is a great adult sippy cup.
REFFIE 😂
Hannah, I have loved your content since your year of no buy. Your eye looks are always so well designed and executed. I discovered Natasha Denona's beautiful eye palettes watching your channel. So, a question. It appears the Gold Palette is gone. It's not listed on Denona's website. It's not listed as out of stock - it's gone. It's gone from Sephora's and Beautylish's websites as well. Do you or your viewers know anything about this? I am completely despondent at the possibility that the Gold palette is gone from our lives for good...
I somehow missed that you posted a new patreon video. Eek! Gonna go watch now :)
Edit: I didn't miss a video. Looking forward to seeing this post when it is up though!
I lo e this videos 😎😎😎💙😃
This is a stunning look on you Hannah! I am going to dupe YOUR vibes today x
@@MoonlitSunflower she is and so well done too.
shawty got them apple bottom jeans
boots with the fur (with the fur)
the whole club lookin at her!!!!
Refy makes me think of "defy"
Super late to this party, but my .02 is that a pronunciation of “reff-ee” would require two fs, as in “Reffy.”
Another youtuber pointed out this palette has a similar vibe to So Jaded, which they discontinued. I have that palette, so I don't need this one.
was hoping to see you knock out some brighter shades, for a more boho vibe.
