I also need probably at least 3 batteries if the estimates of 250 photos per charge are anything like accurate, especially since those estimates are all done with GPS off, and when I'm taking a lot of photos I'm likely to have it on. Luckily I have now tried the cheap aftermarket batteries from eBay and they work fine, so four $11 batteries are better than four $35 batteries.
I never had to buy an extra battery for my camera, and my last Sony W170 (i think that's what it was) uses the same battery, so no complaints. I think battery is not a big issue. I just wish sony would work a bit more on their software, wifi is a joke on HX30v.
You are right, however it is selective. The uploader has the option of including commercials and taking a share of the income. As far as I know, the uploader can disable them.
well if u want to get close tot he stuff u want to capture for ever and ever choose the panny...the nikon is a 4.2x cam which is still decent but not in this league of compact travel zooms
